Title: Cooker's bots
Post by: Cooker on May 04, 2008, 06:25:15 AM
I will start it nice and easy with a LW I made today.

Name: Itsy Bee
Power: 1 nifty
Drive: 2 redbirds
Weapon: 1 ztec, 3 razor tips
Armor: DSA

For those who miss the controllboard, it's inside the nifty. This bot is invertible. I used two sevos, one ordinary and one double ender, that I made myself.;)

Very nice stacking job. Although redbirds and Zteks are not the best motors. But suit yourself.

(damn... HS everywhere...)

Have you seen allready a LW spinner with HP-ztecs for drive?
There are maybe some using HP-ztecs for the weapon. I could do that as well, but then it would be connected by a baseplate anchor. As you know motors on servos do much better, that's why there is a ordinary ztec.

... Of course! I didn't even think one moment to servo bursting spin motors! Well that was a pretty good idea. But I was thinking about switching the Redbirds to right angle motors and the weapon Ztek to HP ztek. Nevermind.

By the way, do you think that servo and burst-enchanced DRIVE motors do better than classical (non enhanced) drive motors? I was wondering that too when using bursted spin motors.

Thats really a very good bot. With that you could enter the next LW tournament... i guess.

Redbirds and RADs have the same weight.
Yes, burst or sevo enhanced motors allways do better.
I dont' think it is tounament-ready now. I think it can still be improved.

try not to use custom parts. This bot could be made with one snapper/servo. The new Clip is better. It has hp ztek drive with an hp ztek weapon with irons. (If I remember.)

The thing with double ender servo was a joke Scrap Daddy. It consists of two stacked servos. I never use custom parts.;)

I can beat this with even my AW bot !!!!!!!

I figured that. I was going to say that its really easy to stack them. 3 servos on a lightweight is eating up a lot of weight. 66 kgs that could be used to do other things on this bot.

Venko SHUT THE HELL UP! NOBODY WILL EVER BELIEVE YOU UNTIL YOU SHOW ANY PICTURES. GTFO:mad:

I would recommend mounting the servos vertically (don't forget to stack them) to save some weight (by reducing the chassis more). Check out my BBEANS3 entry (Dense2) for some more ideas (it had DSA, one nifty, one plow, an enhanced HP ZTEK for the weapon, redbird drive, four iron spikes, and was invertible (I've also managed to make an upgraded version that had a black battery instead of a nifty))

Errr...Redbirds weigh more than RADSs

well said sorrow. redbirds are 5kg heavier. (21>16).

you could even build that with only one blue snapper...

Yep! I was prepared for a comment like this from your side. C'mon show me someting that came off your "genious" mind. Enter a contest and get at least third place, otherwise I refuse to grant you with my respect. Got it now?

Ooo, sorry Sorrow, I was misstaken on the weight of the redbirds, but at least they are faster and easier to fit. Even tough the RADs have several attachpoints, I have problems somtimes to get them correctly placed without the round end sticking out throu the bottom or the top of the chassis. However i will try to improve this one, it is still far unperfect in many ways. It the first edition I did it in 45 minutes only. Meanwhile for a really good bot I do normaly 5 or 6 editions to get a satisfactory result. Often the last one has nothing in common anymore with the first.

Yes i got it! But first you must understand this:
1.When i say things like "I can beat this with even my AW bot !!!!!!!" i dont realy mean it, this is just my way to say this bot sucks!!! I'm not good at critic peoples bots and insult them usualy...
(bay the way you will see this AW bot tommorow and will see is this posible?...)
2.DONT UNDERSTAND ME WRONGLY! I NEVER say that you are a bad builder or something... I just say that THIS bot need more work on him, just my way to say this is :"I can beat this with even my AW bot !!!!!!!"
bay the way you say it by yourself :"it is still far unperfect in many ways. It the first edition I did it in 45 minutes only. Meanwhile for a really good bot I do normaly 5 or 6 editions to get a satisfactory result"
if you post bot made in 45 min and its not good what you expect from me to say? "YOUR BOT ARE GOOD AND READY FOR TOURNAMENTS"? I DONT LIE PEOPLE EVEN IF THIS WILL INSULT THEM! IF some bot suck i will say it!!!
3.YES I HAVE BIG MOUTH but I never say i dont respect you or something...
dont be mad at me... Bay the way what you say on my team logo and moto forum threat is not nice too!I dont say on your showcase "dont post bots i dont care post your team here", right?
4.THIS IS JUST A GAME.So i dont care, for example if you post something like this "Venko your bots are very lame". If you do it to make me know my bot is lame realy and i improve him, then actualy i will respect you for telling that and help me, but if you do it for revenge then i will go mad at you.IN THIS CASE i say it to you to let you know he is lame and remake him good,NOT TO INSULT YOU!Remember this!!! SO lets quit that problems and be like normal bot builders :) OK?
5.This is some kind of apology...How old are you?I guess your age like you mine,so lets forget about this. i know my lesson now...
Your bots are good, my too(i will post showcase as soon as he is ready) lets help each other. What you think?
I will act like grow man, Sorry again!

TO SCRAP DADDY:i'm sorry i post this here but:
I know i make you mad with my speaking and with my big mouth but i do it on purpose to make you motivate and to build good bot, and i succeed you make good bot 'cos i piss you off,so my way works fine ;).I think some time sport malice and spirit helps... like in your case... I will shut up my mouth but you start this war so you must end it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ok now i have big mouth and no proof for good bots, but AFTER I POST MY SHOWCASE BE VERY CAREFULL WHAT YOU WILL SAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I WILL TRY to be a new person...

Nice and good bot building Cooker ;)

Ah.. I see, you can do it the nice way if you like to. This sounds allready much better.

Btw here is Itsy Bee edition 3
As you see it goes closed to the weight limit.
But it's still not good, because it sucks on driving and as soon it hits anything, it starts to bounce around very hard.

I did not find the solution for Itsy Bee yet.
Meanwhile you can take a look on my HW Twentyfour Ender

Drive: 2 HP ztecs
Weapon: 4 HP ztecs 24 iron spikes
Power: 2 back volts staked
Armor: 2 Plows
Misc: 2 snapper for set up, granny wheels to be invertible

Here is the result of Sixteen Ender vs Matrix Array

(http://img99.imageshack.us/img99/5797/stxteenendervsmatrixamv5.png) (http://imageshack.us)

Btw because of the name: in the first edition, it had only 16 irons on. You think this was unbalanced? Right, it was on the weight limit too:grin:
I just saw there is a letter missing on my previous post it is here "c"

No comments to this?
I expected at least a comment from Venko, about like: "I can destroy this with my LW pop up." .

I like it, Cooker.  Can you show some inside shots....?
Title: Cooker's bots
Post by: Cooker on May 09, 2008, 12:43:27 AM
I think I can do that.
I forgot to mention in the stats there are two snapper II for the weapons, but there is also a snapper 2 in upright position, for the drives. It cannot be seen on the pic. The chassis could be probably made smaller around the batteries. The lower two trybars have only one spike on each end, because of the 7 attachment rule. Each snapper II carries two HP ztecs and a plow. The plows are placed exactly in the same place, that's why there seems to be only one.
Any ideas what I could do with the spare weight?

Put a ramplate instead of a snowplow. Perhaps you can reduce the chassis width for two thirds of the actualy width, and stacking  the Snapper II's, and then put another ramplate.

Thanks Naryar, I might try this and in the same time I will try to go for some more iron spikes. I think 30 spikes should be possible.
Title: Cooker's bots

You could eFFe some static spikes crossing the front defensive ramplate, then (I guess one is enough finally). That'll made for defense and offense, as you know. Certainly useful for breaking a few of your opponent's weapons. And this will made a ram hybrid, although a weak ram. Could be useful against pure rams (HS worst enemies with hammers), for avoiding enemy spikes to touch your chassis. And so your HS's will spin easier when pinned by a ram.

And try to put these spinning irons very close to the ground, some kind of undercutter, better against popups.

loooks exactly like the first set of HW HS's i built, the diamond series. just ironic, good for the nostalgia.

Thanks so far, now I need only to find a little time to do all that.

To Naryar I tried to stack the two Snappers, but I was not able to use the second attach point once thy were stacked. This made me bored, so I went back to another bot project, I started some days ago.
Its not finished, because once more the stacking of the black batts causes problems. I don't know the reason, but sometimes it works easy in some seconds, but most of the time it refuses to stack, whatever I do. Sigh![8(]

Agreed. i have this problem most of the time too; or you must search 5min to find where to stack it.

The solution is, I think, to make another chassis, or re-build the chassis.

Actually i had already seen stacked snapperII's but its pretty difficult, i cant stack anything but black batts, baseplates, pinks, air tanks and control boards. and extenders of course.

Ok lets help with stacking...
To stack more easy you must first zoom with 3 mouse button as close as you can in building screen. Its very important to not rotate object if you want to stack it.Then start to rotate camera and hover part slowly until game engine allow you to stack it.And its very important to have some space around stacked obect 'cos he is not in other but a little (maybe 1 or 2 pixels) offset from first one the next one too and so...So stacking need space around stacked objects...
Sometimes this work momentaly sometimes a lot time... so be patient..
Here what i CAN stuck:3 to 4 blacks(even crossed if you see my bots),3-4 niftis, unlimited number of pinks(heheheh if have wieght and space),2-3 of every burst motors, wheels that are touched other parts a lot,2 to 3 baseplates anchors,2 CO2 tanks, control boards, extenders, and other few things...

I know I have done all that too. It's only quite tricky sometimes and it needs a steady hand (will mean, serve yourself some Whisky first:grin:).
Pyscolone sayed it works easier with a G5 mouse, that has a variable DPI resolution. However I don't have such, I use a cordless optical.
Btw: baseplate anchors are within the easyest to stack. I have done allready 6, in differant directions and angles. They are also easy to combine with other components. I have allready stacked one in a black batterie, along with a round extender of course.
