yeah, I didn't do this before because all my Stock bots are usually for tournaments.
Here's my WRL2 entry, Arcade:

I would use zteks for drive and use one snapper II with a T connector on. I would then load the snapper and attatch the HP Zteks on for the weapons.

Then you could have DSA as well.

I DID IT! I FINALLY GAINED THE ABILITY TO STACK BLACKS!

2 Blacks, 8 Irons. Front caster armor works sometimes. Outwedges Bounty Hunter, SpItE 2, R4 (half of the time) and Seism 13 on the "wide" wedge configuration. The next time ther eis a Stock HW tourney this will be my entry.

And yeah, you're right about the effect. I named it that because the bladdes will stop anything, completely dismembered Volatile Partisan first try :D

Sounds like an epic card.

I remember when I had yugioh cards, my deck was full of toon monsters and toon magic and trap cards. I even had toon blue eyes white dragon!

Yeah, I have a whole bag filled with my best cards. My rarest is an Ultimate Rare Armed Dragon LV7. (I can tell because of the holofoil level stars)

Speaking of Yugioh, I haven't made any RA2 Yugioh Cards in ages!

Bump

I was planning to make a 36HS. I stacked the blacks, put on the drive, had the basic chassis size, but there's one problem: I get two of the motors on, then for some reason I'm unable to eFFe the other 2 on. So I resort to BFE, and now the game crashes when I select the bot.

What am I doing wrong?

Probably the BFE. I'd just learn to snapper load if I were you, or eFFe more efficiently.

BFE is difficult. I'm starting to understand some of the numbers in the .bot file, but for the most part I'm still clueless. What were you trying to attach the motors to?

Any decent popup that goes against you will KO almost instantly.
The lack of weight for DSA usually means you used inefficient extender work or the chassis is too big. (Or both)

Whenever I test I rip of the wedges but it just keeps driving forward and gets under me. Were you driving?

Ugly extender setup, which is why you don't have weight for DSA. It's hard to do it with just the effe glitch though, snapper loading opens up so many more options.

Let's see:
You can attach the Drive to back of the snappers with no extenders.
Use shorter extenders to attach the weapon motors.
Use Maces.

You could maybe(I said maybe) downgrade the HPs or remove a mace or 2, and you could fit DSA on that.

If it took you an hour to build this, you are failing at snapper loading. If you snapper load the t connector, pause the game and then attach the hps. Should take less than a minute lol

I'm doing a Stock MW minitourney with Arcade 2, ScRaTcHfAnG 3, Wild Fury (from the bot exchange) and a 4-RAD razor HS called Sorta Overloaded Orbinaut. Everyone will fight each other in 2 out of 3 fights and the robot with the most wins wins. yayz.

Anyway, Arcade 2 won my tourney thing with 7 KO's, Wild Fury placed second with 6 KO's, ScRaTcHfAnG 2 placed third with 4 KO's (and surprisingly sucks when AI'ed) and Sorta Overloaded Orbinaut placed last with one KO.

You could always refine its AI. It just might be crappy SZ placement or slow turnspeed.

To solve AGOD, pause the game before you go into the test garage, go into the test garage and then go back into the components tab. Press pause again and then press F12. AGOD problem solved. :D

As for the bot, it looks a bit messy. The chassis looks too tall (if you make it smaller, you could get shinies) and the weapon motors and too far out. Try to get them closer to the chassis.

Stack blacks in the first one, then shrink the width of the chassis behind them and make the rear wheels narrower. This = more weight for more weapons and makes it look less like Stratocaster.

You are right in this case. Why would I punch you ?

Anyways, I think the second one's Snapper II is a waste of weight. You can just attach your Zteks to chassis anchors.

Way back then when i was building stock i built a Trinity side hammer/rammer hybrid like yours. Havok bomb also. I abandoned.

Or you might want to make it a piston powered side hammer rather than a Trinity one... you know, with an air tank and the pistons perpendicular to the extender.

True popup, wedgy (as in gets under Nuclear Fallout wedgy), only 10 razors due to the rule of 7. Those are 140 CM extenders for the wedge. Originally had more ballast but then for some reason the wedge failed. Original goal was to make the most shallow stock wedge ever and I think I succeeded. Doesn't kill stuff too quickly though.

And this will compete in the 256-bot tourney (SEND YOUR BOTS PLEASE!!)

The rear end DDTS are the weapon ones, the wedge ones are hidden by the drive XD

And its only 2WD, but it's fast enough IMO.

Yes, this is a 36HS mounted off 1 snapper. Sadly, it's not invertible.  I needed to raise the snapper to get the drive at a reasonable height. However, if it gets flipped, it will most likely be flipped by its opponent again XD

What's wrong with red extenders? It gives the bot a flashy look, plus, if they were black, they'd blend in with the maces and Overload would look dull.

Just my opinion.

By the way, if he ever matches up with Un-Speakable, Overload is gonna beat the heck out of him!

was too lazy to rotate the black extenders, this is a 5 second splash and the pink background fits with the bot's theme.

Really needs red maces though... XD

the setup goes like this:

Snapper->T Extender->round extender->Ztek->Tribar->round extender->mace

so yeah, only 2 extenders to get the motors on. Yay eFFe glitch :D

would of had shinies but I had them it was 15KG underweight, too little to add a plow, and I didn't want to downgrade to plastic so I could get 9 maces on. also it was kinda bouncy with shinies too. Cool CB stack :P

It's not bad, but it looks awfully exposed, and if something gets to your back (which with that design probably isn't too hard), you're basically screwed. I'd try to find a way to bring the motor inside the chassis and shave off an extra 3 kgs for that HP Z-tek.  I'd give some better advice on how to do that, but I'm a bit behind on some of the new techniques. Back in my day, we used burst motors to mount everything. I'd say it'd be worth sacrificing the three extra maces for those two improvements though. or maybe swapping the maces for razors.

Irons because they protect the chassis better against rammers and pokers and the like (and I gave up on eFFe'ing because it was pissing me off) I will get maces on this eventually, reskin it and rerelease it as Arcade 3 :P

Can do 4kg lighter on extender work.

Just make a rectangular chassis without the right upwards extension, put the axle where the anchor is right now, put a 20cm extender on the axle, axle load it, then attach a 40cm on the forward side AP of the 20cm. Attach the motor at the extremity of the 20cm and the plow at the extremity of the 40cm.

Like this: (side view)


A == M
     ==== P

A being the axle, == and ==== the 20 and 40cm extenders, M being the motor and P being the plow.

You'll need to have fun with snapper loading and eFFe, but you'll save quite a few kgs on it.

Rebuild your chassis so it's almost airtight, and so the snapper fits in-line with the nifty
Then you can make it a symmetrical setup and have better/more weapons

Wedges on top are for some sort of protection (that motor is fragile) and because I got no weight for ramplates.

On a side note I think you can use snapper loading to minimize the space between the 2 snappers, and maybe that will give you weight for more stuff.

Good stack. Could shrink up the chassis, though, and remove the seemingly pointless extenders on the end there. Mount the RAD's facing outwards to get more reach, and I believe that might get you enough weight for Redbirds, providing you want to keep razors on there. You'll have to turn the motor extenders the other way to get the redbirds to fit, though, unless you want to attach them directly.

I think you can get away with a baseplate anchor and two extenders for each side of the setup. Also make your chassis like this:

Alright, I managed to cut the chassis weight by 1 kg with that kind of chassis, which gave me weight for Redbirds and Irons. Or would razors still be better?

Would Plastic get you any stronger drive? SnS don't need strong armour unlike, say, popups, since they're always spinning and keeping the opponent away. If something gets to the chassis it's either gonna spin away and survive, or the spinners will get stuck and the bot will get destroyed; whether it has Plastic or DSA doesn't matter much.

Looks like a decent bot to me. How much damage do those Snapper2s do?

The only thing I can suggest is to take off the side extenders and get a caster in the front. Other than that, it looks pretty good.

An upside down T shape will save weight as opposed to a U shape. The motors you're using are called SnapperIIs; the green and purple one is the Snapper2. The SnapperII is stronger than the Snapper2 for the weapon, but it's really bad at retracting the weapon after firing so a Snapper2 is almost always the better choice, and it saves battery power, too. The Snapper2 is also better for the wedge, but that's not as important and you can keep the SnapperII wedge if you'd like.

And it looks decent. I'm thinking you could axle load the Snapper axles out of the way and mount the battery horizontally to open up some space somewhere, or shrink the chassis at the back further.

A fun MW I made last night. The razors spin downwards to catch on wedges and rip them off, plus it can crush opponents to death with the Ztek's torque. It's pretty wedgy too, but not amazingly. 397.8, DSA.

Why is the chassis so big?
I would suggest using Noodle's blueprint/baseplate edit (https://gametechmods.com/uploads/files/grids.rar) if you want to try to get the chassis as small as possible.(You should be able to get another black or a ramplate then.)

Only pet peeve is the weak weapon extender/motor (popup fodder, also vs like to nom on it but i can usually outweapon them and win by points) and I haven't tested it against any generic HS/SnS.

I'm gonna fine tune it a little more then send it off. Not planning to win, just wanted to do something different : )

Also it has DSA.

My main strategy is to box rush spinners, pin them to the wall and then grind them to death. Kinda hard to do that if you have the same drive as a 36HS.

Well I tried that, but it ended up looking messy as frick, then I had to take off the wedge so spinners wouldnt murder it which made the thing really front heavy and hard to drive.

So yeah I rebuilt it from the ground up but it failed miserably against everything that isn't Diamond 4 so I scrapped the design entirely.

Next thing I'll post here will probably be my Tusslers entries.

One question:  How does that not tip over when turning?  I know from experience that having a heavy weapon on a servo up high like that REALLY messes with your balance.

I was also going to suggest making a V-shaped front, maybe something similar to my bot Accident Waiting to Happen, but if you already tried that and it didn't work, then never mind.

Yeah 90% of the time on this bot was stacking the CB and black. The other 10 was getting the chassis as small as I could so I could get the weight for that last iron.

yeah I probably could clean up the extender work but this was the first setup I found that worked. Plus what am I gonna use the extra weight on?

yeah i was thinking about bear claws, but i was worried the irons and claws would get in the way of each other. I ended up swapping them out with razors and upgrading one of the motors to an HPZ.

That's generally the setup when the chained motor is a Z-Tek/HPZ. IIRC a redbird chain only uses 2 20cm extenders.

Using a T extend you can almost perfectly align the motors, though it may effect invertability .

When spinning bots with flails sometimes have the axles pulled out like that due to the speed they spin, so basically as MNB said, havok engine wonkiness

393.2/dsa/1 black (i'm aware i dont need the black but i prefer the extra electotal, plus there isnt much i can do with the weight)

after i took the pic i swapped out the irons on the spinner with maces

Seriously? Out of any bot design you could of built, why did you build this? It does have a good controlling ability and a good weapon choice [The Razors] , but that front wedge will be ripped off despite its reach and it just lacks the weaponry. Needs more Razors, that all I can say.

How much does it weigh anyway? It may be a heavy-weight but is there any weight spare or something?

I should of looked up Fury but I wasn't aware of Fury in the Starcore AI pack. To my view it look like a Stock heavy-weight but it was only assumption because Badnik didn't post the weight so I guessed. Well thanks for correcting me that Badger.

this was a fun build, juggler built mostly off a snapper. i was inspired by #MENTALLYHILL and one of pwn's old robots that he entered into doomed bots

398.3, dsa, snapper wedge and 1 black. the long wedge works pretty well but it struggles against other single wedge bots because the wedge isnt that good

pretty cool tbh. If you want it to look clean though you should make sure the razors are all rotated with an edge facing up - improves contact and appearance. also use a dog plow

i got bored and decided to make an ant with redbird drive. 124.3, plastic, 2 pinks. i was .9kg off of dsa with 1 pink and 2 irons arggh

mr. as told me to angle the iron up so that both weapons could maybe hit at the same time

this might maybe end up in starcore 4 possibly idk

i built this like a year and a half ago and decided to pull it out for RMP2. 397.1, dsa, hpz drive and nifty. theres definitely a lot of weight i could pull out of the chassis to maybe stick another razor on the piston (or upgrade to maces) but im lazy so there

If you set the start positions of the weapon bursts lower it should help with the damage. Sometimes the popup weapon needs a bit of startup time to reach full velocity.
