I think we should vote on someone who seems worthy to take the position.
Sticking to the topic. A lot more community based tournaments I think would help. Also this MAY be a long shot, but why not weekly challenges? On the front page you get given a meta and certain building criteria, (e.g Stock/Shuffler/Futuristic Theme or DSL-IRL/LW/Animal theme). All entrants have 6 days to submit their entries and on Day 7 the winner is decided and that bot gets featured on the front page.A lot of games use stuff like weekly objectives and challenges to keep their userbase continiously interacting with the game, so maybe weekly building challenges will help GTM users maintain interest with building by giving them that chance at featuring on the front page.
A 'mute topic' button
Quote from: TheRoboteer on January 17, 2019, 03:33:47 PMA 'mute topic' buttonHave a feeling that would be bad. Lets say one person locks the topic because he doesnt like the person that made the topic. This would end up in many muted topics...Or do you mean just mute the topic for you which now that im thinking about it is prolly what you meant, and makes everything that i wrote above invald
I like some of the ideas in here, but it feel bad to had kill left the community.Quote from: TheRoboteer on January 17, 2019, 03:33:47 PMA 'mute topic' buttonactually this is a great idea

Members will use the "mute topic" button as a weapon to fight back when their topics are muted. I think the "mute topic" button should only be in the hands of moderators.
ALERT- Another WS coming up...
I'm fine with hugging reier
in all honesty i'm glad this place still exists. it's still kind of a cesspool but it's always been that way. take it from someone who has been here longer than almost anyone at this point.we actually don't have noticeably less members active than we did in 2008 when i joined, as strange as that may sound. the main difference i notice is showcase activity is a ghost town. but i'm not really sure there is a way to change that at this point. after posting tens of thousands of designs on an unfinished budget game there isn't much left that's new or shiny anymore. CF added some new flair but it's definitely a two-edged sword and unfortunately made a lot of what made RA2 fun in the first place for me and others mostly disappear. That said I'm glad people still play this even if it's not my preferred method of play. It's not my choice and it shouldn't be. RA2 will always be a special game to me just because it let me be creative and build designs well, and gtm let me talk with others who shared the same interests. i'm not that in touch with the community anymore because most of the reasons for me to be here have gone (good building) and the people I was here with have mostly left. also i'm old and senile people don't know how to use these computers. I browse showcases and stuff but it just won't be as active as it once was. I'm glad it's been around for 15 years and that I got to be part of it. Hope you guys can come to good conclusions for the next generation of builders. building is the most important part of GTM and tournaments count as that imo. I just hope people keep building.
I'll make sure GTM returns to full glory.

Given the recent developments, all I can say is that I hope this community recovers from the loss of several members and moves toward the future at full speed.
