Update:

Still have a long way to go. Al Kindle recommended that I use this to connect the sheets at the corners.

You want to make your wedge flush with the ground and straight.  Right now I can see it is not straight. This will inhibit your ability to get under other bots and cause funky driving characteristics.

Also you want to use plastite or wood screws in UHMW. Not machine screws. Even if you tap the holes. UHMW doesn't hold a fine thread very well.

It's not a wedge, it is going to be a rammer. I can't get one because of the receiver.

The chassis you've got at the moment is certainly a wedge. I would also recommend a wedge over a flat-fronted rammer. A wedge allows you to take control of other robots, whilst a flat front does not.

Sorry I'm not sure I understand, your reciever does not allow you to do what?
It's due to its shape.
It looks like this:

It isn't a wedge. It just looks that way from the angle I took the picture from.

The receiver's wires would break because of the wedge coming down on it (they'll bend too much).

Using the screws on the side, could you make a external wedge to mount on the front?

you could...

take the receiver out of its casing and mount it vertically.

do the above step but take the pins out of the board and solder the pwm cables directly into it and mount it horizontally.

switch to a spektrum radio and a orange receiver.

extend the wedge and put lightening holes in the bot somewhere.

Move the batteries closer to the front. Move the receiver to the back. Problem solved.

I used it to hold them together before I put the rivets in.
