This is my robot, Maniac Manta! It is a lightweight (59.5 lbs.) flipper bot. It competed in Battlebots, but didn't get past the qualifying rounds. It can lift 3 times its own weight!
I'll upload a video of me testing it soon.
-
Nice design! How much pressure is the flipper under (assuming it is a hydraulic co2 powered lifter)?
-
Titanium=win.
Can you lift the lid?
-
Dude, how'd you afford titanium???
-
is it a 4 bar linkage lifter(like biohazard) or a normal flipper.
-
It's a normal flipper. Don't know the exact PSI of the weapon though. It hasn't been up and running for a while. I just recently moved again and a lot of stuff is still in boxes including the paperwork on the bot that I have. When I find that out I'll tell ya. :)
-
What battlebots?
the newest one?

What battlebots?
the newest one?
No. The one from years ago. Sorry. :/
I wish I could enter in the new one. That'd be so awesome! :D
-
Season five, right?

Season five, right?
Pretty sure. Yes.
-
It can lift 3 times its own weight!
If it can lift that much, how high can it toss it's own weight class?

It can't toss bots clean into the air. It can just LIFT that much weight.
Btw, a video is on its way soon.
-
Sorry I've been kinda busy lately, but here are some more pictures of Maniac Manta.

the video has been postponed until further notice. the bot needs a new pressure release valve for the CO2 flipper.
-
Slick! That is a very clean looking bot. Cordless drill drive for the win! I kinda wish I lived closer to FL then we could be BFF :P Looking forward to the video.
-
It looks pretty neat aside from the radioactive CO2 you're using. :-D
-
Now that is a nice looking machine! How much is that flipper capable of comfortably flipping?

It's 59.5 lb (27.1 kg); a lightweight according to Battlebots. It can comfortably lift approx. 2 to 3 times it's own weight, but it doesn't have the tossing power of say, like, T-minus. Still, this bot has power!

great robot hypnodisc
-
So how fast is it?
I MADE A REPLICA!
-
Stock... Why stock!?
-
Because he wants to build it in stock? :P
-
DSL Would be better...
-
It's easier to place motors in stock.
-
*Failbot*
That's not a poker... and the lifting arm doesn't looks like that.
-
Well at least I TRIED to make one.
-
Put that in a showcase. Your own showcase...
-
Weeklong bump!YAY!
-
He's still right - this is the real robotics forum.
@HD259: From the length of the flipper it doesn't looks like it, but can your bot self-right ?

HD259? That's like hypno259 and hypnodisc7 mixed together. haha.
Anyways, no it isn't able to self right, sadly. :(
But that's what the skirts are for; to deflect flippers
EDIT: you know, come to think of it, I haven't really tested it for self-righting. When I get it back up to running condition again, I'll have to test that.
