My favorite instrument is still the violin.  I don't want to bother learning how to play it, however, since on its own, it really doesn't sound that good.  In a group though, holy eck does it sound good.

If there was one instrument I would like to learn though, it would be the guitar.  Why?  Because MIDI guitars sound rather awful when used as a lead.

Honorable mention to the French Horn.  BWAAAA is one of my favorite noises.

The only instrument I know how to play, unfortunately, is the box standard piano.

Do synths count as an instrument?  I guess it would just be considered an off-branch of the piano, or more specifically the keyboard.
