Well... I feel a bit foolish posting these after the amazing Bite Force rep by Arcane, but nonetheless, I've been loving playing this game even at this stage so thought I would contribute these!

[ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ]
Hypno Disc - Works just like the real thing! Probably my favourite rep I've made so far!

[ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ]
Panic Attack - Had to create quite a lot of new shapes for the decals and stuff, but thankfully the game allows for the creation of precise polygons. Cannot wait for the decal painting system to be working!

[ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ]
Tornado - The framework was fiddly but fun to do. Again - works just like the real thing!

[ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ]
Pussycat - First rep I made. Gets caught on its butt and jigs back and forth but hopefully once the AI system has been developed that should solve it.

[ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ]
Razer - Not entirely accurate but you can tell what its meant to be... Doesn't crush but can catch bots and push them around nicely and believably.

[ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ]
Storm 2 - Currently working as a full body hammer. That said - still effective!

[ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ]
Stinger - I think it looks great but doesn't operate that well at the moment... could do with a 'rubber' material for the tyres? Has the same problem as Pussycat when it comes to driving aswell.

[ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ]
Dominator 2 - The axe does work but naturally the Ai doesn't know when to fire it yet.

[ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ]
Gabriel - (See Stinger)

Oh! And I had a bit of fun with my own bot:
[ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ]
Dynamo - Small but a powerhouse.

I have a few ideas for how to make the game even more effective but I'll post them on the main thread since this is for currently posting bots atm!
But yeah basically loving the game and having loads of fun with it!

Sometimes I'd like to see the insides too to get an idea of how you guys make this things. I'm not good with them large components. Like one thing I wonder is do you guys also let things clip through each other inside the bots?

Also, do like all the bots shown here so far. The Biteforce replica in insane.

I treat clipping the same as I do in DSL-IRL: it's okay for custom shapes to clip through things, since you could cut a hole for them IRL, but it's not okay for, say, motors to clip inside the battery. Fait Accompli's drive motors clip slightly, because each motor has two axles, but I let that slide because again, IRL, you'd just cut the unused axles off.

Aerogis:

big bar undercutter, takes some time to spin up but can deliver some hard hits

Envyus:

wedge vert, gets under most things

Storm Flood:

hi Deep 6, hits hard but likes to fall over and die

Roller Mobster:

generic 4WD wedged vert

Trailblazer:

IT'S A WEIGE!!!! rams things good tho

Starving Beast:

overhead spinner thing, dustpan setup would work better but those are banned in current RR2 comps so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Well done on all of them.

Aerogis was/is particularly interesting to me.  We just put Robert Cowan's Crippling Depression into the game, and I am a big fan of horizontal spinners.  Watching the Apex Rumble 2.0 video, the spinners don't look or feel right.  Fixing spinners is pretty high on my priority list.

I probably won't have a final fix ready for the next Alpha (Bugglebots!!! Woohoo!!!), but it is on my mind, and gosh darn it, will happen eventually.

Red Devil 3.jpg

Red Devil - It doesn't fully articulate like the real thing but it can drive (just) and the claws move which is good enough for me.

I've been trying to find anything that's irritating when building within the bot builder to report back on here and for the most part I'm struggling to find much that isn't already mentioned or currently planned to be implemented later down the line. The only minor issues I've come across is that if you snap a new component onto an existing one on a subtle incline then the component will lay flat, not inclined. (Eg: I couldn't get the track pieces to sit at the same angle as the component they're snapped onto as they either lay flat or at too sharp an angle). And the rotation tool could maybe do with a few more angle points.

Also thank you to everybody that commented on my last post.

Wow.  I'm trying to wrap my head around how you did this.  And. Just. Wow.

Were the track pieces snapped to surfaces on a sphere, or on a polygon?

Here's Goodbye Kiss. The hammer isn't particularly heavy but it swings rapidly and has a counterweight for extra balance. Most of the body is 3mm steel, the front wedge is 6mm steel.

I would either just press Ctrl + PrintScreen or you could just go into windowed mode and use the snipping tool.

Okay, I can't find windowed mode in the game. Could you show me how?

I like it!

I’m working on damage now.  Puncture damage for spinners and axes should be a thing soon!
