Title: Gulden's RR2 Showcase
Post by: Gulden on May 22, 2019, 07:00:40 PM
So apparently this is a section now.
I only just learned how this game works today, but I think I have the hang of it.

So far I've only made 6 robots, with the other 2 just being boxes.

As of now, in the scenario any of them go head-first into a wall, they instantly die.
I'm also under the impression that 200 KG is the weight limit, so that's what I've weighted them to.

Well, from what I've seen in Parsec tournies for RR2 (AI one isn't made yet), the weight limit generally follows RL weight limit, with 110kg for HW

I think that might just be the way damage mechanics have been implemented in this build. I've found a lot of the time I get knocked out just by driving normally, because my bot is grinding against the floor somehow.

When I used my clamp/dustpan before the damage update. The bots would basically kill themselves. Probably due to the forces that are applied but cant propel the bot.

I need to update my showcases more often.
Here's an axe bot.

I started playing the game again.
I quickly learned that the secret to making good looking robots is spamming nuts and bolts on them.

These are completely original designs.

I don't think I know how to make an interesting drum spinner.

Exposed internals make bots look better to me.  Dunno why.

Me:  Posting four bots at a time is a bad idea because have the attention span of flies here.
Me as well:  But we have a theme going.

The multibots were about as difficult to AI as I expected.  I got them working eventually, though.
Now all I need to do is teach Blood Crawler that pinning isn't fun.

This is Bubbles, and its 106 KG Pneumatic grabber minibot Sharky.  (The coloring is probably off due to my arena of choice, however, I being a colorblind man, don't give a carp.)

I made a lot of robots, including an AI pack for those who desperately need robots.

Ah, I can finally post on the showcase again.
I will now use it to post another AI pack, this time suitable for the weld builds.

The theme here is all these robots are awful, and if you lose to them I hereby give you the right to call yourself "bad at the game."
If you or a loved one are having trouble defeating these robots, you may be eligible for financial compensation.
