3g's RR2 Showcase
« on: January 07, 2020, 11:28:34 PM »
So I'm here to show you guys a few of my builds
First one is Deep Six. I build this one when I was still trying to figure out the Painter option, and I found out it didnt work and now the coloring is a little messy, but whatever... it's a cool build

Now the champ. This one was a PITA because of all those "X" shapes. But it is so cool to have it built in the game

Well, I wasnt going to post this one, it still needs work. I am a member of Black Dragon's team, I see it everyday, so this is one I want to get 100% right. The dragon is impossible to make right now, and so is the "Black Dragon" writing in the back

Death Roll was so cool to build, it looks okay to me. I really didnt want to make an arm, that's why it's so simple, but works fine.

Railgun is actually my newest one, I made it yesterday, and I am so happy with the result. I didnt make the dragon drawing on it, but it looks good and works pretty well.

Minotaur... Damn, it was fun building our rivals' bot, but that "Minotaur" writing is such a PITA to make and so was the drawing, if anyone has any tips that would make it less cringy, please let me know. Still it is one of my most destructive bots

Okay, this shows how lazy I am. When I looked at the Ribs and the Disc painting on Witch Doctor, I just gave up, and made it simple. I'm am actually happy about its performance, it drives pretty well, and that top rib works just like the real one.

Love the bots, some of the detail is insane.
As for tips; the key to smooth high-detail painting right now is to get the hang of the custom shape creator. My Panic Attack rep is probably my best example for that, I can't think of any specific others offhand but there are plenty of great ones around.
 :claping

Edit: I should probably clarify, the most important single part of the editor for this is the shape scale changer, which lets ya get extra-small detailed parts. It's in the popout menu on the left when you're using the creator.

Yo these look great. Also dw my Witch doctor doesnt look much different + they did have a detailless disc with only white and green colour on itself. The only madman that did the details is arcane. But he is something else

Are you an IRL competitor?

Anyways, these reps are fantastic! Only thing I'd recommend would be for you to practice custom components.

Are you an IRL competitor?

Apparently, yes:

I am a member of Black Dragon's team, I see it everyday

I know plenty of people have made the leap from GTM to real robot combat (Somebody, MikeNCR, craaig...), but this is the first time I've seen someone make the opposite leap. Good to have you around - and great job with those replicas!

These look very good, and it's great to have a competitor come to GTM instead of the other way around for a change.

Yup, for now I'm a fairy/ant/beetleweight builder for Team Uairrior (you guys should check our facebook and ig page). When I'm not designing new bots, I'm creating Battlebots replicas in the game...  :laughing
