I would build and punchbot and pop-up hybrid
Holes in body so spikes can pop out of the hole while the other bot are up the wedge.

I'd go for a HW Front-hinged Flipper. I've always had a liking for those.

It should. Dark Pounder's only 1 pound. It's motor is already freakishly fast. Use the same motor and just spend the remaining weight on stabilizers and a bigger disc.
