Should be possible. The guys from the Chaos 2 team did it themselves, so I don't see why not.

How does Dragon Con get away with such flagrant disregard for safety (no offense if anyone affiliated is reading this)?  In this clip, a spectator nearly gets brained by a vertical spinner tossing its opponent out of the arena (1:37)

Quote from: Dragon*Con rules
D. No vehicle may, under any circumstances, present a hazard to the judges, spectators, or the opposing operator(s). No vehicle may in its operation cause damage to anything other than the opposing robot or the combat surface. Any vehicle that imperils the viewing areas will be ruled ineligible for competition.

F. Judges may restrict any function deemed excessively hazardous

G. For sumo events, a minimum of 30' (thirty feet) distance must be maintained between the edge of the combat stage and the audience, for safety reasons.  No audience members are allowed within the safety zone, and children under the age of 16 are not allowed in the front row.

I guess my question is, why was that robot allowed to keep fighting unabated?

because that was an exhibition match between a 12lber and a 1lber. After that happened they added

Quote
Vehicles may not compete out of weight class, due to safety considerations.

to their rules...

Haven't heard anything about it. I don't think there was ever official confirmation of a second episode happening.

I can answer the latter, the answer is yes.  It's no longer competitive but still well-upkept.  Ian Watts is an engineering professor at the University of Brighton.  In his course, the final project is to build a featherweight robot, and a tournament is held.  After the winner is crowned, Ian wheels in Bigger Brother and smashes up all of his students' bots.  Check it out (skip to 26 minutes for Bigger Brother):

Does anyone have any info on Maelstrom (AKA RigorMortis)? I wanted to know so I could write Mortis' BBWiki page.
