Forget that. Build a HW and go to Canada in March.

A good 4WD beetleweight wedge, minus materials, would probably run you about 150 dollars, and that's mostly radio equipment. Antweights are more expensive mainly because silver sparks are more expensive than 1000rpm motors.

I'll leave Alex to do the full list, I'm kinda tired atm. :3

Alternate wheel option: http://www.fingertechrobotics.com/proddetail.php?prod=snap-wheels

Saves having to buy the snap hubs and lite flites then tearing the lite flites apart to put them on the snap hubs. If you go with the 1000rpm motors, get the 4mm bore snap hub, if you go sparks, 3mm snap hub. If you go beetle, 2 sparks is going to be very close to the lower limit as a workable drive. You'd be better off with 4 sparks if you want to use silver sparks for drive.

So Titan Tech doesn't sell things anymore. Anyone know of someone that sells the modified Vextrollers? I'd modify them myself but I'm nervous that I'd screw something up.

Edit: Never mind, the guy has one left. I'm all set.

So I can ask anything robot related?
Why did so many of the well known robots drop out of Robot War Series 7?

And does anyone know if any live events happen in Australia ever? besides the exhib in sydney last october

Stinger couldn't get in because of the new active weapon requirement. I believe S3 and WBC stopped competing because of financial issues. The Hypno Disc team was so busy they decided to skip Series 7, and Razer had simply retired.

So in series 1 of robot wars, did they keep the gaunlet arena until every robot went through or did they change it every heat?

Presumably the former, less time wasted setting up arenas, and bots that need to be repaired after the Gauntlet get more time to do so.

Has anyone used RepRap machines for 3D printing chassis / components for their robots?
My budget is very low, so I am thinking of disassembling some old RC cars and rebuilding them into antweights.

People have 3D printed chassis before, in fact I believe Mike just did one for his newest ant. You'd need to reinforce it with metal if you want it to hold up to spinners though.

Many 150g ants are 3d printed, you may want to add extra armour on the front.

Here's a beetle that uses a 3d-printed chassis, reinforced with spring steel. Holds up pretty well against the drum spinner.
