Yeah, there's definitely a pit; although it's now wider and not as deep as it used to be. There was a photo of the judges in it.
It's wider, longer, and deeper.

Does anyone know of any competitors that the list hasn't gotten yet?
Yes.

Would it be a big deal if I grouped together the Round One competitors in the fights I saw?

People on the Robot Wars subreddit put that initial list together so I think they'd like to have those names too. Unless you don't reddit because I could post them too.
I built that big robot on that TV show that time

While we're asking, do we know all the competitors in the event? Someone posted a list on Reddit (which I've put in spoiler tags at the bottom of my post) which has about 35 of the 40. Does anyone know of any competitors that the list hasn't gotten yet? (No match results though - that I'm avoiding spoilers for.)

Here's the list (warning: spoilers)

That someone would be me. I've been aware of the 5 robots that were missing from the list for a while, just didn't get round to actually updating that list. It's done now, though.

Damn, there's actually robots in that list I don't recognize.
Maybe not the robots, but some of the team members you'll definitely recognize.

Most notably, no pit.
Pretty sure there is one

The compere dude said it was four feet deep, which sounded reasonable. He also said four metres deep during the second sessions, so I guess he meant four feet again.

Picture of the new Killalot

I'm a fan.

Holy hell, that is amazing. I like the way they kept the design of the armour plating on the front of him, and the way he's gonna butcher a child, "accidentally".

I'm not too fond of the new Sir K, tbh.

No decent pictures of the new DM have been released yet. I mean I know for a fact they exist because I took some but...

Not a great picture though. Those pictures are everywhere if you only want a general overview though.

The design is nice. The mask itself looks good too but I would have like a redesign of the original one better

I have mixed feelings about the new design.  It's intimidating, but it looks more like Major Damage than Killalot.  That's me though.

I think it looks more like Mr. Psycho.

Might be the lack of lance in that photo that's throwing it off. With lance it's definitely Killalot.
