im not sure if you know about this (you probably do) but I stumbled upon basically chinese battlebots and they've got some big names on board like Ray Billings and John Reid et al

So after watching KOB, I am surprised by the quality of the presentation of the show overall. Despite the case of occasional ad breaks during the count down of a match (but that's what happen when watching a TV stream) and the music not fitting in on some cases, nearly everything else was pretty well executed. The Fights were exciting, the match build-up sometimes properly felt in place though some of the fillers did feel a little overdrawn, and there were times when having a slow motion shot was worth it. The fights themselves in the end were enjoyable especially seeing Spectre in action as well as seeing Megabyte ripping the drum off Stingray. Though the third fight wasn't to interesting due to one of the robots possibly having radio transmission problems, despite a few surplexs from the clamp bot. But the rest is enough to keep me watching and waiting for the next episode.

KOB reminds me of a mixture of old RW and new BB. I enjoyed that way more than the UK vs ROTW special form season 10 of Robot Wars. Some nice(ly copied) designs in there. I never was a fan of Razer but Spectre looks really awesome.
Looking forward to Tanshe as it still looks to me like Beta had sex with a Protal turret.
I'm glad they cut down the instant slowmos after the first few fights as that was kinda annoying after a short while. I assume KOB is a pure single elimination tourney which is really nice to see as I prefer those over the Reboot Wars format.

I wasn't a big fan of the pauses when counting out and general pauses, whether it be for a potential comedic effect or suspense building which I didn't understand due to a language barrier. The bots were pretty cool with Spectre being my favourite out of the bots, followed by.... Zhuge.

i liked it, i liked how the arena looked its like robogames, battlebots, and robot wars combined....but the dramatic pauses isnt needed.

Have to agree with Philippa for this one. The Fight between Great White and Spin Doctor in my eyes was so close, the match could of gone in either one of their favor. But in the end, I'm still glad that Great White in the end. Regardless of that fight, some of the other fights were also pretty interesting; seeing Tanshe in action against Dark Knight felt like a ram charging into a person while waiting on a good time to buck them away, Grill judge just ripping into the shell of Shield of China was fun to watch, and Rust boar having a good go at Extreme despite having a feeling that the fight was a bit one sided due to how easily Rust Boar took on Extreme with extreme ease. Though, I'm going to have to keep on watching for that next week, there's a pretty good line up of bots including Blue, Griffin and Crossfire.

Also, (apologies for salt) for Wu Old Sixty Six, what is this, 2002 2001 2000 1999? We're still creating robots that have no srimech, have a weapon 10 feet off the ground, and have a high ground clearance all at the same time? Wow, Mystrsyko is not going to happy when he reviews King of Bots.


Speaking of bots from that time period, even though I liked the team's humanoid bots, Steel Dragon looked and performed like something out of BattleBots Season 2.0 or 3.0.


Oh man, Reverse Scale was so unimpressive, looks and quantity wise.


Crossfire looked badass and the way it moved around was awesome, but the way it just shat its own pants and self-destructed had me in stitches.


I think that's about it.

So far this episode has been pretty enjoyable to watch, especially if you wanted to joke about the arena wall causing the immobilization of another competitor as a running gag. Still despite there being moments like the match between Knife legend and Moments, there are still some good moments; Chiyang Jinlun taking victory against Megabyte after Megabyte got the bolt in it's pole stuck in one of the hole on the top of arena entrance wall, Snake's stylish suplexes against Suspension and Great-White tearing off the amour of Hunting Winds. So as usual, next week into the round of 16 will be something to look forward to watching next week with an interesting line up for the fights, but trailers do spoil as that wildcard robots are shown to appear in some their fights against another wildcard entry by the looks of things.
