There's a repeat of Episode 5. Next week is an Episode 6 repeat.

In short, it's repeats so that those on the West Coast who missed out on those episodes thanks to the Republican and Democratic National Conventions can watch it.

Well, that, and ABC fears that NBC will crush everything with the Olympics and as such didn't want to put new episodes against it.

You know what needs to happen? A drone needs to actually do something of significance.

The issue seems to be flamethrowers create its own propulsion which tends the throw the drones off course a bit before they get enough time to properly burn anything.. I dont know what weapon you could put on them as a spinning weapon would do much the same id imagine.

Really id only see dropping entanglement weapons / nets as an effective option.. but they are of course outlawed.

So it can lightly drag it across the top of other bots like it was teabagging them?

Sadly that would most likely rip the drone down into the blade. Also remember that bot that couldn't qualify because it was too dangerous for the arena? The producers questioned a lot if the weapon could be used as an entanglement device.

The biggest problem with drones is that in order to have them fly, they need to be light enough to be lifted off the ground.  Flamethrowers are probably the only thing that a drone can use "properly" (in massive quotes) cause it's light enough to carry and can attack from above the ground.  Weapons like maces might  not work so well as you need the weight and force to leave a huge impact. Unfortunately with the nature of flying objects like drones, they're highly likely to flop airborne and drop to the ground, rendering them useless.  They're really only good for the judges for scoring active weapon points which has been here or there overall.

In other words, drones are useless.

Fire can be useful if they can keep it over a opponent for a while, Complete Control has shown that. It might not do any fancy outside damage(much like Mr Psycho's hammer) but can do stuff to the insides, that heat doesn't just disappear after all. However there are just rare situations where you can hover over the opponent like that(Hypershock having Poison Arrow pushed against the wall would've been one like that, but they had the rake instead, so putting down a magnetic barrier(what black ice did) or a grabber(chrome fly had it on their drone) might be the better choice.

You also have Newton's third law cockblocking any flying spinners from doing damage. Even if you got a devastating VS weapon onto a drone, it would likely just throw itself into the ceiling rather than doing any damage to the opponent.
How you make Alarm Clock Pizza is:
Step 1: You buy an alarm clock from the store, and then you have to break it and put it in the sauce.
Step 2: Fold the sauce in 5 slices and put it in the dough.
Step 3: Paint the eggs with a pitcher of a clock showing what time you want to wake up and eat pizza for breakfast.
Step 4: Put the eggs in the dough.
Step 5: Make it flat into a round shape and draw the time you want on it.
Step 6: Put some old steel to prevent other peple from stealing it.
Step 7: Make it flat and cut into 60 slices 1 for each minute in 1 our.
Step 8: Put in the oven set the timer to 30048813.2884 seconds and put the temperature on 'Volcano' setting.
Step 9: If you think it is take to long, then get yor alarm clock and set it to now so that it will ring and you can take it out.
Step 10: Take it out uv the uvin wen it is redy and go to bed. In the morning eat pizza and also eat yor hands bi mistake.

Think it goes to the judges then(based on what happened before that) because drones count as clusterbot and as soon as more than 50% is disabled that bot is out. But having both drones fight would be fun.

If you want incredibly boring matches that are dragged out for too long then please, use an entanglement device.

I'm of the opinion that the net was covered in the ".etc" part of the rule in S1 and quite frankly he should have been disqualified. It was a farce it was even let in the arena in the first place.

I'm under the theory that the reason he wasn't disqualified was because the creators were thinking that the moment would have created one of those shock moments. The type of moments that have a lasting impact on those that watch it, you know? If they completely disqualified him, that could have meant that they would have to scrap the fight off the episode and essentially, they wanted to spread out the entire situation for more commercials on the network.

It's just a theory and it may be a convoluted one. Someone else could probably explain this one better than I could.

The Quarter Finals, Semi Finals, Grand Final, and Rumble (Singular.) are getting mashed up into another double length episode.

Not again...

I understand why they're doing this (the NFL season starts on the 8th of next month), but it feels like ABC is treating Battlebots like a red-headed stepchild when it comes to scheduling.

I'm pretty happy about this in all honesty. It should be pretty cool, but I just wish that a proper schedule would be nailed down at the beginning.
