so... if anyone remembers the RACCOON community, i've been asked by Moonset to see if anyone would be willing to host an event on GTM using RACCOON's modded DSL version to see what would happen, and i decided to do it myself
This tourney is therefore going to use the RACCOON DSL mod as well as the RACCOON ruleset
Guidelines
The robots should be viable in real life. You can use RA2CF.
Hold on, this isn’t exactly GTM IRL, but you may find some rules familiar.
Viability in Detail
Except for robots with weapon shafts that are inside their chassis, all spinners have to have realistic weapon mounts.
Reinforced Perm counts as weapon mount.
Flipper arms also need to have realistic appearance.
Spinning objects cannot intersect.
IRL style weapon mount rules except looser.
“Flipper arms also need to have realistic appearance.” basically means you can’t make flipper arms out of skirts, but you can use skirts as wedges (see Biohazard).
Overall, RACOON is more focused on functional similarity rather than appearance.
Banned Parts
All cheatbot2 parts are banned. Motors cannot be used as armor.
Motor armor refers to when a motor is directly attached to the chassis and therefore becomes indestructible and
when said motor is sticking out/covering a portion of chassis that is usually hit. However, motors sticking out of the
top (see Bite Force) is allowed.
Weapon/Robot Types
Only the original builder can modify robots from the past tournaments and re-enter them for
future tournaments. If two or more robots from the same builder are similar in wedge structure
and position, weapon type, structure, position, size, and overall shape, then only one of said
robots can compete.
Don’t copy and paste.
Weight Limit
Weight limit is 1000kg.
Up to 0.4kg extra weight will be granted if robot contains LEDs.
Special Rules
Modular Robots
Modular robot refers to robots that have a fixed type of weapon and chassis (including drive
system) and have interchangeable parts (such as wedge, armor, weapon shape and size). You
can have up to 3 modules per robot. All robot files should be submitted together, with different
names for differentiation. A module needs to be selected before a match.
Swiss Army Bots
Swiss army bot refers to robots that have a fixed chassis (including drive system) and have
interchangeable weapon types. All robot files should be submitted together, with different names
for differentiation. A module needs to be selected before a match.
Srsly what’s even the point of modular robots?
Special Case
If two modular/swiss army robots are involved in one match, the competitors will PM me before the match about the modules and AIs used. Module selection will not be disclosed before the video release.
However, conditional AI can be requested.
Conditional AI is used when you don’t know what module your opponent will use and have different strategies for the modules your opponent has. Conditional AI is specified at the same time as module selection, and done by me right before the match. There’s no conditional module.
Robot Naming
Robot name cannot be Enter Bot Name or bot1,2,3... Offensive names are not allowed. File names should be the same as the in-game robot name.
