Robot Rumble 2.0 / Re: Robot Rumble 2.0 AI Thread
« on: December 07, 2019, 05:45:30 PM »
Reading back in the AI txt, I believe I had not changed my motor key inputs to what the txt tells to use. While that is an incorrect way to do things, I don't think it should be causing a system crash upon saving AI.
Yeah, there shouldn't be a reason as far as I can see for that to cause a failure. In fact while I was testing the new turning/driving logic I didn't have a weapon wired up at all so that shouldn't've been an issue.

Was this tested by you or others? Asking just to make sure. I don't think there was more in play at the time though.
V0.8-1.0 was tested by myself and Robo. V1.1 by myself on two different pcs alongside an irl friend on a third pc. I don't know if anyone has used it in any other builds other than myself and Robo however. Rest assured I'll be trying to get to the bottom of this myself as I would hate to put anyone else through this error.

For now all I can suggest is backing up your bot files before adding/editing AI as the game is in early alpha. I know this comes too late for yourself but should (hopefully) help prevent issues like this in the future.

Holy crap Stopping Power is absolutely beautiful. The detailing and pipework is just incredible. I'm really sorry I broke it the first time round but I am so glad you went back to rebuild this beauty of a bot.

Jesus you two - that is amazing!! Thank you so much!!

Has anyone worked out/remember how to edit the AI string in the .rr2bot file? I have so many AI's to update now but I would prefer to do it via Notepad++ lol.
I haven't messed around with the .rr2bot file but you can copy paste from and to the AI window in the Test Lab. That's how made and tweak my AI's at least.

The moment I pressed the Save AI button, my entire PC crashed. Seriously, this happened. I wish I were joking.

After booting back up and looking in game, the whole bot is now an error and can't be accessed.
Holy crap, I am so sorry! I've tested the AI thoroughly (or at least thought I had) and hadn't run into any issues yet so I thought we were all good. This is a terrible development and, again, I am sorry that happened.

AI'ing is sort of just being explored now and we have a couple of decent setups from various people. The Telemetry screen glitch is a massive PITA but you can copypaste to notepad or notepad++ to get around it. I'm going to shill my HAMMER AI (you can find it in the RR2 AI thread or on the RA2Central Discord) as it makes it super simple to set up a hammer/flipper.

Hope to see you in SvL S2 soon!

I really love the style of Phantasm, especially the shape of blade on the spinner. Looking forward to seeing what you put out in the future.

Peppermint Scream: a bad pun for a pretty decent bot!
Inspired by the 3lb Kamikaze but scaled up to put out massive damage.
It's weapon is powered by a direct drive ME0708 motor and can spin up
to 3500 RPM allowing it to deliver some insanely powerful blows to toss its
opponents around, and out of, the arena. Drive is 4 A40-300s. 107.9KG.

Don't let the name fool you, this complete AI for Limited Spin Motor powered weapons is great for Hammers, Flippers, Lifters, and even Overheads with a little extra tuning!

Grab the latest version [HERE] (V1.1)

PLEASE MAKE SURE TO BACKUP YOUR BOT BEFORE EDITING/ADDING AI

If you have any feedback, suggestions, or questions I'm more active on the RA2 Central Discord than I am here (though who isn't at this point) so drop me a message or whatever on there!

2- flippers and hammers are now allowed, as long as its ai`d. if anybody wants to volenteer to help, you can do so. Also, they have to be motor powered, no pistons.

Well, this seems like the perfect time to shill my brand new, complete motorised weapon AI: HAMMER.
Grab it from here: HAMMER AI V1.0 and enjoy!

Any questions or issues just drop me a message on discord.

Looking forward to this, best of luck to everyone!
Only have one bot to enter at the moment, but maybe more in the future if it's not full by the time I complete another bot.

SvL S2 entrant? It looks really awesome.
Thanks CodeSilver, it took me a little while to get used to the building and physics of RR2 but now I'm here I'm hoping to create some good bots. Looking forward to entering SvL S2 already! 😄

NULL is my first finished bot in RR2 and one I'm quite proud of.
A heavyweight drum spinner weighing in at 109.3KG. Its weapon is
powered by 2 A40-300s that can spin the 35KG drum to 8000RPM
in just over a second due to their gearing. Drive is 2 A30-400s.

All star
Quickly becoming my favourite builder in the community 👀
Thanks guys, it means a lot!

Tbh, I really wanna see what stuff you could come up with in RR2. These builds look absolutely stunning!
I've been slowly getting used to RR2 and should, hopefully, have something worth showing off soon 🤞

It's been awhile since I've updated this, huh?
Been working on some CWs as well as actually getting my bots to a decent level of competitiveness.
So, without further ado let's get this show on the road:

A cruiserweight axebot built to both enter Royal Rumble 2 and to act as a demo piece
for my colourable shell panels (coming soon, I promise). Blindingly bright and able to
deal a fair bit of damage thanks to its Wide Medium VDMA powered axe. It is also
very stable and has the most minuet of ground clearance making it a pain for flippers
or other bots to get under. Weighs in at 595KG. Drive is 2x NPC Fast.

Also on display is Buzzted, a Cruiserweight vertical saw bot that is less effective than
I would've liked. The overall design idea came first on this one and I wanted to try to keep
to my original idea as much as possible while making a somewhat effective bot. Great at
dealing damage, terrible at staying upright this little monster is very much a glass cannon.
The fat saw is powered by a single flatmotor and the drive is 2 TWM3R2s. 598KG.

It only took nearly 10 different permutations but SYZYGY is finally complete.
A mean hitting tribar spinner with the power of a 6MAG behind it's three hammers.
This was mostly an experiment to learn the power of BFE as can be seen on both the wheels
and the hammers where they have been brought in slightly to better fit the design.
Also uses the OmniSpinup2 AI to make sure it is dealing maximum carnage with each hit.

Oh, that looks sweet. I especially like the colour scheming and the little "ears" up top too.

The only thing I could suggest is maybe dropping some of the armour and getting it to CW? Although I guess that would mean starting over for your Arena Champions entry however, so perhaps not.
