You should honestly make your own showcase. The stuff you’ve been doing is crazy.

You really think so? I mean, I've seen your bots, and some of those look pretty insane to me.
How would I go about that? I'm new to the site and not exactly the best at computers.

Okay, now I have a true scale series 5 style Panic Attack. Albeit without the decorative stuff because I already don't see myself being able to do the paint job as the game stands, so I've gone for a purely functional rep.

It's easy to forget just how big Panic Attack is. I'm building this rep to the dimensions listed on the wiki, that's 1m 36cm long of robot.
EDIT: I have just remembered that those dimensions are for the last TV appearance, where it had the rear skirt, so I do need to do some speculation to get closer to the pre-series 7 version, but still. Big robot.

I have an idea regarding how sandbox vs career could work. Basically, my thinking is that at any time you can build fully sandbox bots and do sandbox exhibition matches, but you also have career progress and can work in the bot lab through the career menu to have the game show you whether you can afford the parts to build the bot in that career.

That system would allow you to go between sandbox and career without having to change anything in the settings menu, and could let you bring a sandbox bot into a career later just by loading it in the career workshop, and buying it for the cost of all its parts.

For examples of similar systems, you could look at blueprints in Space Engineers, which can be projected in a survival game, and you build the individual blocks of the projection with your collected resources - or vehicles in Stormworks where you can spawn any vehicle into a survival world at a workshop area, as long as you've unlocked and can afford all the parts.

I'm curious, would tournaments typically allow multiple bots that only differ in one respect - say, a weapon - to enter as a single robot with an interchangeable part?

One of my buddies has built a couple of bots too, and keeps asking me about what I think of the designs, so now I'm curious what any of you guys think.

Posting this here so more people see it

Nice drisc, and that looks like a solid spinner-killing wedge. Pretty too. :)

While I've started the subject of custom spinners like this - here's the tool I use to get such smooth circles, in case anyone needs such a thing.

Otherwise, I love the disc.  I need to learn how to make hollow things like that.

I do it by building them in segments, using shapes I draw far bigger to get a smoother curve.

I've finally built a bot I'm happy with that isn't immune to damage on the placeholder model. I really want to enter her in parsec tournaments or something, but I have a bug where every bot I've built in the current build is immune to elimination by pits and ring-outs, so I don't know if she'd be allowed. The bot files for three bots I mentioned on the itch.io page, for investigation.

My thought process building reps is basically that it'll look its most realistic if I copy the actual structure, aesthetics can come later. In Razer's case here, probably it'll be way further into the game's development before I go in with the spikey bits on the beak.

Recognise this? :)

I'm still waiting for multi-pulley belts before I can make a non-cheaty version - and gears, hydraulics, some mid-sized motors, the ability to overclock stuff, hinges and the ability to attach a cord to tense at the top of the claw's movement before I can make a fully mechanically accurate version with wings - but for now I'm happy with this.
