Group N should be interesting to watch, I can see chemical corrosion going through and wild haunter has a chance if gets a bit of luck but I think it's just to unpredictable and unstable.

sev entered a second right as I posted. this rounds out the rumble to an even 4 for the final position

A 4 way rumble for final spot now anything can happen, least exposed chassis wins? or luckiest bot?

The OrcCorp's IRL entry is in

Also, I received second entries from Nightraven, Primeval, and Code Red within 5 minutes of each other so there will be a 3 way rumble to determine which gets the last spot.

Now that the IRL entries are closed all other event signups are closed. This means that the only side event that will be participating is the Ironforge one

3 way rumble should be interesting and probably a battle of attrition

A tracked tourney how I miss this? I think I'm probably only one that uses tracks regularly so have 4 or 5 builds ready for it

A pre-tournament rumble between Black Spirits, Testify, Mage, and Fusion.
Unfortunately, Black Spirits couldn't compete as a multibot, so only one of the bots entered the rumble.

The match started out in favor of Testify, as Testify damaged Mage almost instantly, knocking Mage into the pit. Fusion managed to hit Black Spirit, throwing it off balance. Testify then struck Black Spirit, critically damaging it. By then Mage had driven itself into the pit, and was out. Testify struck Black Spirit one more time, before becoming unstable and landing in the pit- a major upset.

Black Spirits moved to 1-0, while Testify, Mage, and Fusion moved to 0-1.
For someone who's trying to prove that Wandering spinners are effective in combat, hosting a tournament full of them to prove such point by showing us the first rumble. But instead of posting a video of said rumble, so that everyone on gtm can see what point you're putting forward, and causally enjoy the video. You instead explain the events through a wall of text with only one screenshot of said match, leaving everyone scratching their heads wandering what happen between each key event, making your case point unable to move out of the personal claim territory to a hard case fact.

But seriously. No one on gtm wants to read a wall of text of a match from a tournament. Remember the key rule: Show don't tell! It's better to show us the match through a video so that everyone will be able to see what happen during the rumble in it's full glory to prove your case point, instead of telling it through words when we'll become quickly bored, confused, and stop reading it after even a few words.

This tbh no point saying how good they are if you cant show it. Posting text is pointless as its like wiki anyone can say anything doesn't make it true, for all we know nobody hit anyone and they just all bounced into the pit. If your going to do a tournament to try show off wondering spinners and how good they are then post videos and tbh you would be better off picking a small arena with no hazards as watching uncontrollable things spin into stuff or down a pit isn't robot combat its dumb luck.

I'm running out of ideas.

its pretty boxy and one thing i learnt is dont keep building new bots but improve on ones you already have. keep changing the ones you already have an slowly improve them so you have a few great bots rather then lots of average ones,

oh of course it was in the one discord i'm banned from

typical

It was on all the discords gtm and forum included.

Also not sure if you noticed Billy but you can't actually see the chassis as there are panels on top and sides so you wouldn't even know if was a skin on it

I don't know a single person who has ever used the wiki for actual info.

The wiki itself is useless as anyone can edit it anyway and just put what they want. If going to try and use something to get people interested or introduce them to ra2 then a universal YouTube for tournament videos would be a better option to showcase what is happening rather then just have lots of info nobody wants to read

are you just making up what wondering spinners are as you go?

it first had 1 drive motor and 1 wheel now your just making a standard bot with standard motor setup but using drums or disks for wheels and calling it a wondering spinner when it clearing isnt designed to bounce off walls and it has controlled movement just that it sucks for traction.

if your defining wondering spinner as something that can bounce off walls then you have just covered every bot ever made that has bad wiring or loses a wheel.

Nope. WS are a lot more effective than they look as I told you numerous times before.

I already told you the rules and everything you need to know.

Wandering Spinners are basically robots that move around on their own. You just activate the switch- they're off. No more need to even touch your keyboard.

ok where to start hmmm

You have said 3 different rules for a WS
you also cant make an IRL WS as it will have no controlled movement which automatically makes it non IRL (goto a tournament and enter something you have no control over and you will be instantly banned).
you have by default not made a wondering spinner if it has more then one drive motor as A) its just a regular bot that has no control b) isnt actually a spinner its just a poorly wired and driven bot and C) it doesnt "wonder" around the arena it just drives into the same wall repeatedly until something hits it to turn it.

i was all for the hockey puck 1wd spinner as a novelty now your just trying claim its IRL and can have more then one motor just makes it poorly driven bots thats claiming to be something its not.

Tournaments to actually finish in a good time as it gets to a point where waiting months for the next round of a tournament again it shows that it's not really active.
It's something we all would like to see, but I don't really see any good way to motivate people to finish them without discouraging people from hosting in the first place.

only way i can see around this is rather then making big tournaments which will take a lot of time have people just do small ones with the only exception being if they show they can actually manage big tournaments within a reasonable timescale. having not hosted im going to guess a lot of hosts like to have all footage recorded before actually editing, instead encourage hosts to record and edit on a episode by episode bases so there is less time between signups ending and videos being released and will also put less time restraints as you will only need an hour or so per week then having to find 5 or 6 hours at a time to do everything at once.

Only really a couple things that I'd say need doing.

Have all tournaments out in open not special discord only servers nobody knows about. By extension the host will still have option of allowing someone to join or not but at least it shows there are active tournaments.

Tournaments to actually finish in a good time as it gets to a point where waiting months for the next round of a tournament again it shows that it's not really active.

Try more crossovers with other groups or even have the possibility to merge with them and have 2 different groups under same banner with own rulesets but allow ability to interact with each other easier (and I mean actual bots groups not the ones that make up imaginary fights) I believe someone has a loose irl ruleset which would be great for new builders as a between ruleset they can use while learning irl.
