Other Tutorials / Re: Reduce loadtime on your own Bots!
« on: June 02, 2019, 07:09:01 PM »
Cool tutorial. Just wondering if you will also add a section for The Blanc? Also would be cool too to get extra section like other bots that load long and how to make load time shorter if you get consent from their builder, and maybe also certain things that increase load time. Like don't get me wrong. Ik more component is pretty obvious, but maybe stuffs like how Carbon Fibre extender increase load time for example

And on a side note, that's your eligible entry then for Fresh Metal. I think RiD is different from RiP, and thus legal. Hoping the shortened load time is not considered too much for BSRaven

Proper post

^Your 2nd comment is definitely in my plans for the future ;)

Also, there is now a view-able spreadsheet listing every bot involved in Mech Madness. I'll be tracking their conference, season record, strongest win, and most damaging loss as we go:

Actually, that was mine lol. As I'm a tourney mod, I tried quoting him, but pressed modify instead and didn't notice until now
Oof

CROP YOUR SCREENSHOTS PEOPLE, anyway my hot takes below FWIW

Ya, MCL-34 is worse than I remember. I think it's borderline but OK for regular IRL tournaments (It's been accepted a few times now), since you're going more strict I see your point. Fair do's. The whole chassis of the bot is pretty poorly done TBH, so maybe a remake is on the cards.

#2 looks the same, IRL legal by our standards but it's not something you'd actually see IRL probably. Not as bad as my bot.

Rejecting a bot cause you can't AI it is pretty bad, since knowing how to AI is a prerequisite for hosting a tournament. If it's a lifter bot, I'm sure there's a lifter.py or something like that, with a relatively easy setup. Worst comes to worst, you can usually get anything AI'd if you post in the GTM discord asking for help.

#4 see #2 but probably about as bad as my bot if not worse

#5 ya that looks like straight clipping
Tbf for MCL-34, I only accepted the VS version that you made specifically for me. Never saw that bot entered into anything other than this and my tourney
I didn't make the VS version specifically for you, I made it before I entered either version in anything as a tryhard "Tournament Edition" version of the regular bot, as I do with a few of my builds. IIRC I've entered the axebot version in 1 or 2 other tournaments, where it's been accepted.
Just want to ask, but what are those tourneys. Never saw them

You reposted the same pic for first one

Anyway, for second one, that looks legal. I think like it's still attached to an extender om the side points, and I feel like the bot has a baseplate to hold it I think. Plus IRL, you can use other stuffs to keep it held on

For third, ask other people, like me for example, to AI it for you instead. I think she doesn't know how to AI at all

For fourth, so, you rejected it because you thought the thin shaft for the bar would snap on impact IRL, especially with such heavy teeth. Or just it doesn't have enough support because heavy weapon plus non triangular shape

For fifth, I agree. It definitely clips

The amount of rejection and the reasons though. Really strict interpretation of IRL rule (Edit: adding more thought, but I do think for few of the bots, it's bordering on extreme) imo.

Anyway though, in signup post, just call me Billy. I don't prefer being called Kendor on any robot combat game server, despite it being my original ID, as it's from NationStates, and I go by different name in other places.

Also just want to say, but you should add a post about each acception or rejection of entries to notify people on it, rather than people looking themselves

Also, forget to say on first post, but I honestly like how it will be the new RG. Just need a LW class too for me tbh

Approved your tourney. Sorry for late reply

Anyway imo, I think you should allow two beta. Like two is OP on HW, but enough on SHW. Also, you should also allow two Mini Minion, and Microvore disks. Plus you should also legalize Hworf blade and Razer crusher motor too

Edit: Also, please use 2.2 tbh. Also, left some other thoughts on that Discord server

Tbh Kix, Code has also hosted some other Parsec events before. However, they are held on his server, and unrecorded

Honestly, I don't AI all the bots myself save for the few the people who AI it can't. The first half is done, now waiting for the second half by Friday. I also start testing and making splash for the bots that are already AI'ed now

how about your bot vs deadgnaws and big bad wolf in a three way challenge match? :gunz:
Cool challenge. Could host it myself it it wasn't for my laptop being crap for rumbles, as well as limited internet data and running my own tourney. Hope you all can find another host, like Bild, Nightraven, BSRaven, etc

Thats All You Care About huh? Ill Start Cropping them
you're going to get very little, if any feedback on an unrealistic dsl bot. you're better off sticking with IRL in dsl if you want feedback.

Idk what to feel about the in built JD system in game tbh
I think I still prefer the one where people made it themself as on any other robot combat game before RR2. Also for aggression, is it basically tied with control, or will you take other factor into consideration, like the controlled bot trying to force itself against the opponent even if being controlled, or trying to use their weapon, like bringing down their saw into the opponent?

Pretty unique and cool. I like the shark theme on it, as well as how you did the extenderwork to make the shark shape
