Okay, it's been a while since someone posted a rep here so imma show one I spent a couple of hours on today. Aftershock works like it does in real life, gyro-dances when turning too quick and has the ability to give their opponents a big of a flip when hit by the disc. Pretty happy how it has turned out.

I REALLY like Outlaw, though personally the resolution of the skin being higher wouldn't go amiss. Only 2 nominees is really suprising tho, I shoudl've maybe entered one of the many OBJ bots I attempted that month. But good job Sickle  :claping

If you know how to use OBJ then making the slice bread would be as simple as drawing the rectangle, removing the bottom corners and middle pieces and importing. Could've even added a texture that way.

Custom Components Showcase / Sagaris' Custom Bot and Skins Showcase
« on: March 03, 2019, 03:20:13 PM »
Ok...starting a new showcase as my old showcase is really messy and all the new stuff I post on here will hopefully look more professional as I now know most ways to make custom robots, all bar making new components from scratch.

TriHunter gave me an ARC robot to recreate in RA2 and I did just that. I OBJ'ed the chassis, BFE'd the components and skinned it in photoshop as I do with most my builds atm. The saw is a skinned Chewblade, the power is a single modded batterypack and the motor is a fast flatmotor, everything else are standard DSL components.

Continuing my OBJ obession, I have recreated Panthera to have two skinned saws as the weapon. I knew making a load of skinend saws would come in handy eventually. It's decently quick and the saws work well too, what more can you ask for on a rebuild.

So I went back to my early posts and saw a flipper called "Launch" before I enabled component freedom and had little knowledge on DSL. Ithought I need to make a better version of this. Using OBJ, BFE and simplicity I present Launch Evo. Simple robot, and the only thing that relates it to Launch is the name and the colour scheme.

Potato Salad: Ask sagaris about the name

One of the few phrases I learnt from my holiday in Croatia was "Ja sam krumpir salata" which means "I'm a potato salad". The more you know.

Following entering Azure into a Parsec tournament for it to lose it's wheels very easily on two occasions, I have rebuilt Azure to have a lot stronger looking supports, the bars shorter so they jam up less and, most importantly, some basic wheelguards to stop it becoming amputated within the first 30 seconds of the battle. Azure II is beefier and better.

Been combining OBJRA2 and BFE recently to make this thing. I based it on my one of the pieces of the Panic Attack Pitstop set I had when I was younger. It's 4WD with two TWMR2's and two astroflight motors I believe for a little added speed. Two wide medium VDMA's power the steel flippers at the front which give this thing a good launch. Also it's Titanium 10 armour so should last at least 10 seconds against a typhoon rammer.  :claping

Speaking of OBJ, I'm really enjoying this after just learning it and should hopefully be able to pump out a lot of decent replicas. And actually skin them at some point. Maybe I can make the shapes and internals and Cinghial make the skins, deadly replica combo ;)

Edit: Splinter is done now.

Back with another unskinned replica.

Made a version of Mega Morg that has the length of the first one, shape of the last and a flipper that combines both. Might get round to skinning it at some point but because of the amount of sides the dome has it will take a while to line it all up.

may i ask how do you do the horizontal cylinder shape?

Using OBJRA2, basically made the shape in a CAD program and imported it into the game using Blendr and OBJRA2

Cool, I'm getting RW AoD AI vibes from it weirdly enough. I love the skin and the way you made up the axe shaft

I should take a picture of it with the axe shaft like 75% of the way down and then the AOD vibes will fully kick on.

I really want this version of 2.2. Would be mad fun to play around with in free time.
This tournament will be using a totally impractical and incomplete patch whose entire existence is for entertainment.
Maybe I made the download link a little too hidden?

Ohhhhh I didn't notice that. Cheers.

Went to make a crusher last night...which then turned into an overhead saw...which then turned into an axe. I like the chassis and the fact it actually works effectively.
