What if Robot Wars had another series in 2004? What if Battlebots had returned after a brief break for Season 6.0? Well Orc took his Time-Space-Transporty-Whatsit to a universe where both shows hadn't been taken off the air AND had joined forces to become... (Great name I know) GENERAL RULES:- So the idea behind this tournament is simple: participants must take a robot and design it as if it was entering Series 8 of RW/Season 6.0 of BB. You can take any robot from these franchises...I will also allow you to pick MODERN robots but you must downgrade them to being Series 8/Season 6.0 quality. - 32 Bot Tournament. Robots will be seperated into 4 heats of 8 in 1 on 1 battles.. All Heat Finalists will advance to the Grand Final but they still fight to confirm their place in the Grand Final. The Grand Final itself features Heat Winners taking on other Heat Runners-Up (So Heat A Winner fights Heat B Runner-Up, Heat B fights Heat C Runner-Up and so on.) - Robot Wars 2016 Arena. - Supplying your own AI is appreciated but not required - Crash Patch is being used (as with all tournaments I run now) - I shall be entering. I will open up 2nd entries if entries run dry. BUILDING RULES: (basically OW5 rules) Weapon Limits: Spinners: - VERTS: 2 large teeth (15-24kgs) ex: Large Typhoon, Ripping Teeth, Large Nightmare, etc OR 4 small teeth (7-14kgs) ex: Small Typhoons, Cutting Teeth, Heavy DS Teeth, etc OR 6 Small/Medium/Large Beaters. - HORIZONTALS: 2 large teeth (15-24kgs) ex: Large Typhoon, Ripping Teeth, Large Nightmare, etc OR 4 small teeth (7-14kgs) ex: Small Typhoons, Cutting Teeth, Heavy DS Teeth, etc OR 6 Small/Medium/Large Beaters. - WEDGELESS DRUMS ONLY: Can use up to 10 Small, 8 Medium or 8 Large Beaters. Other teeth types would not be allowed on these bots. Yes, this also means wedgeless drums have more DP allowed than other spinners. - Mechavore/Minion discs of both sizes banned. - Maximum allowed weapon weight of 100kgs for non-cosmetic damaging weapons allowed on a bot (including dsl bars). This does NOT include your weapon setup (disks, extenders, etc). - 2400 max dp allowed. - Use basic common sense if mixing weapons (ex: 4 small typhoons and 2 larges is not allowed) - TO CLARIFY A WEDGELESS DRUM: robots like DID and Roka are wedgeless drums(eggbeater in Roka’s case) whereas something like Phantom is more of a drum vert. If you look at real examples, Magnetar is a wedged drum while Tornado/Sabretooth are wedgeless. ---------------------- Axes/Hammers/Clamps: -These robot types struggle as it is, therefore just don’t take the piss with them. (Example, 5 burst axe bot or sticking everything you can on one axe). ---------------------- Burst limits: -Front/Rear hinge: 1 Beta Burst/Motor, 2 VDMA R/P Bursts/VDMA Front Hinged/Storm Burst/Mag Snappers -Top Hinge: Max of 1 long pneumatic, or 2 short pneumatics ------------------- cheatbot2: - Flatmotors allowed ONLY on wedgeless drums and overhead saws. VS/wedged gutrippers that use drums do not count. ex: (DiD, Maxtox count as drums, things like Phantom and Duper Scooper count as VS). Not allowed as drive motors, max of two flat motors per bot - Overkill motors are the ONLY other CB2 part legal for OW5. --------------------------- Other: - Damaging weapons on the front of rammers/wammers are banned. However, things like Nogoodnik’s spiked wheels are legal. - All DSL 2.2 IRL edition armors allowed - Skirts only allowed on dustpans with proper support - Free hinges/axles are banned for wedges/wedgelets. These are allowed for details like Rat King’s tail/Purin’s headband however! - Ant Blades are banned for all bot types. - No EternalFlame.py or logic. - No servos UNLESS you can AI it yourself then feel free to send me the servo bot with the AI. - No meltybrains. - Clusterbots are allowed: they must strictly be Middleweights. No minibot nonsense. 50/50 split. - No weapon spam or stacking. I won’t limit parts but I will be clamping down on robots I think are pushing it. I won’t be lenient. - No excessive extender spamming/stacking (Extenderbots are allowed of course but if you use extenders to armour your bot….just use the armour panels!) ENTRIES:1. Thanks for the list Super :P Heat A Snowstorm 2- The Champion...it's alright I guess? Grass Chompy- For a new builder(?) it's fairly decent Cujo 2- Simple horizontal but the colour palette is nice! Monolith- Best looking robot in this heat and my favourite to win the heat, although it's up against a vicious heat but hoping it can pull through Microburst- That being said, I love this too: especially the drum setup! Naga 2.5- Feel bad for botbuster here, what a heat for Naga to land in: that being said, I think it has the easiest R1 opponent so maybe it can squeak out a win? Live Free Or Die- Ehhhhhh Hypersonic- That front scoop is very nice, as is the paintjob
Heat B Gold Ecstacy 2- Rooting for IBD here, very nice flipper but I can see some bots being a pain for it! Thwacky- Simple and clean The Orient Express- Wej Crest- Very clean! Drew has got very good very quickly... Reverb- Looks like a Smash Bros Golden Hammer with a spinner on the top Gwip’s Revenge- Hey look, Gwip is back: hopefully the changes will help...a bit Midnight Zone- How on earth will Gwip possibly gwip this Cougar- Aside from GE2, I love this bot: such an awesome skin and my 2nd favourite to win the heat!
Heat C Apogee III- Heat favourite, Robo rarely fails to impress with his bots Bored Again- I can tell Contrast- Not bad at all, actually really like the colour choice! Crustacean Mini- SAY HELLO TO MR ANGRY EYES Dead Heat- Wej Demios- I love Merrick's skinning: this is a cool looking bot, 2nd favourite of the heat for me! Pharaoh's Revenge- Interesting name for this robot, I'd have gone with something different Solar Storm- Cool skin, clean build
Heat D Proximus- Not a bad HS at all, I do like the stripes going down the robot EZ Ryder- Is this a static arm or does it move? Would be amazing if it moved up and down Killerquack- Ehhh kinda messy tbh FIGHT!!- The teeth set-up is confusing me but that doesn't stop it from being 2nd favourite in this heat SDBeater- I do like the side parts of the support, not a bad bot at all! Propaganda- Love the eggbeater on this! Buckshot- My favourite to win the heat, goddamn this is clean! Silver Bullets- Wej x2
Heat E Outlandish Otter- The Otter does a good job standing out amongst a heat of eh bots, hope it can put them down in the ground Sarin- It's not a bad HS at all but damn those teeth look oversized on that disc Artificial Sweetener- My mouth hurts from looking at this robot's colours and name...but design wise it's pretty good! Hexiide- Simplicity is sometimes the best policy, not bad Tokyo Nights- The Dreadnought discs look eh but the rest is bloody nice...probably my 2nd favourite (although Sarin and AS come close) Grassy Smasher- LONG BOI The Bloody Beaker- Seeing the HW version so much in PWS has left a bad taste in my mouth Stormflower- No offense Prime but this is easily my least favourite of your bots: I like the wheel space at the back but the robot in general just feels so...bland compared to stuff you produce these days
Heat F Tearaway MK3- I like Tearaway a lot, very clean and compact Black Eye- Could be a dark horse Murderous Beetroot MKIV- This could easily be so much more...look at Killer Carrot Rhys and don't just use the in-game decals Black Gold- Ah the Vent debate of 2020, in all seriousness it looks very nice indeed! Saturnalia- Will it win the heat? Probably not...but after seeing this bot improve, I have hopes dammit! Mordecai- Mordecai Kirin 2020- It's not bad Surge- The decal on the top not being aligned AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Heat G RIPtile- Easily favourite of the heat...but I'M COMIN FOR YOU REDACE, I'M GONNA BEAT YA! Orcatraz the Scarred- I personally think this is the best Orcatraz I've made...but knowing me it'll eat dirt in Round 1! Ice Pick- Not bad at all, the scoop texture looks neat Tsuihou Hanran- Reminds me a bit of Beast, maybe this Tsuihou can do better The Black Knight- TIS BUT A SCRATCH! Your wheels off! I'VE HAD WORSE Rigerding 2- Standard ol overhead Electrical Storm- For a bot with a name like this, I'd expect yellow or neon blue...but pink? Eh? Stingray- Said it earlier but sometimes simplicity is the best policy and goddamn I love this bot aesthetically
Heat H Sadlads 2- Not bad, if a bit simple: I do like the extender work on the body though Oreo Storm- I'm now hungry Ground Zero XL- Literally Beetroot but better...not by much though Moth Stinger- 2nd favourite for the heat...do moths have stingers? o_O Shockvibe- Vibrant and could be a threat Sinsue- Box Barney is Mad- Terror Wheel lost some weight! The Rat’s Nest- Favourite for this heat honestly, just like the look of it

Same as last time. Still very much interested, but don't play every day. Interest isn't waning either though, it's been at a pretty consistent level for the past like 2 years now. I play when I have ideas or when there's a tournament that takes my fancy, but I'm not forcing myself to play every day like I was in 2017/2018
Pretty much this for me too

Don't worry, Sunday Night Showdown will be happening...after OW5! But for now... GENERAL RULES:- Idea behind this tournament is that the builders that take part aren't revealed TILL THE END OF THE TOURNAMENT. Trying this out for an experiment. - 16 bot tournament (ideally new builds, maybe 32 depending on how much interest there is.) Single knock-out tournament. - RoboGames Arena for a change of pace! - Supplying your own AI is appreciated but not required BUILDING RULES: (basically OW5 rules) Weapon Limits: Spinners: - VERTS: 2 large teeth (15-24kgs) ex: Large Typhoon, Ripping Teeth, Large Nightmare, etc OR 4 small teeth (7-14kgs) ex: Small Typhoons, Cutting Teeth, Heavy DS Teeth, etc OR 6 Small/Medium/Large Beaters. - HORIZONTALS: 2 large teeth (15-24kgs) ex: Large Typhoon, Ripping Teeth, Large Nightmare, etc OR 4 small teeth (7-14kgs) ex: Small Typhoons, Cutting Teeth, Heavy DS Teeth, etc OR 6 Small/Medium/Large Beaters. - WEDGELESS DRUMS ONLY: Can use up to 10 Small, 8 Medium or 8 Large Beaters. Last note: if you do enter...DO NOT TELL OTHERS/SHOW YOUR ENTRIES, it goes against the point of this tournament.
