Everyone who thinks Puff is bad hasn't fought a good one

You need to be practically clipping the opponent while using Rest to get it to land, its all about timing and baiting
I mean this happened at small University smash tournament (Apologies for the quality, this was taken at the event).

Yes, you got it right. A Jigglypuff player on Smash 4 a low tier character, manged to beat Cloud, a top tier character!
YO how tf?
I don't remember this that well, but I think it was either that the Jigglypuff player was really good, or the Cloud player was sub-par.

Jigglypuff main here to kill your hopes and dreams

Bowser, Mr Gay and Watch, and Samsung Arrand are fun as well
Not a fan of the puff. Cant get the timing on that rest attack working.
Join the club, I don't understand how to get Jigglypuff's down special to work.

This the **** of my University's Nintendo society! Every Friday evening from 8pm is always Smash bros on the big screen, 8 players, no items expect the final smash ball. Lots of fun, nearly everyone joins and if you play well, you'll pick up a few wins. I'm still not that good despite having owned Brawl and Smash 4 for the 3DS, due to me playing on a less competitive level.

As for Ultimate, I'm still unsure about investing into a switch. I what to play smash ultimate for myself, but I'm currently in doubt if it is going to be worth it to pay around £319 for a Nintendo switch and one game, and not really having much time to play on it.

Welp, the other robots are screwed. We have MEGATRON as our winner. BotOfTheMonth, please put that on the front page right now!
It isn't over yet! Remember out of all 14 bots, three of these will end up on the front page. Don't rule out the chances of all the other entries are screwed, there's going to be another two places if MEGATRON wins one.

Everyone say thanks to Hoppin.
My thanks were passed though by liking the OP.

Could you please stop making "tutorials" for building robots that are completely ineffective in real combat and would not be accepted by any host with an idea of what controlled movement is? This idea has existed since 2004, and it hasn't been a good idea since. Please, stop and focus on building and improving designs that make sense and work well.

Also, PLEASE take advice from members that know what they are doing to improve. I don't want to see someone with a decent amount of ability become a meme the likes of Superbot. Don't take this as me trying to insult you or wandering spinners or whatever. I'm just trying to get you to understand where we are all coming from.

Oh, THERE not ineffectant. One alone killed 2 HW popups once...

Yeah, and talking about the building this bot for fun by Redalert and nobody else building it part, want to ask this to all Unrealistic and Standard players as I don't know much about the meta. Do you not like building WS for fun because both metas are primarily about competitiveness, efficiency, and effectivity, rather than fun (and that the kind of fun said by Redalert in general are applicable to the IRL meta instead, even if WS are probably un-IRL too)?

What's the "Fun" part in RA2 when you can't play with science? GTM is about sharing designs to get others' thoughts and comments. Not to mention, inspire.
By criticizing this (no offense), you're making me want to quit GTM. Do you even want that?
I'm just trying to expand GTM and contribute to it, so GTM isn't jeopardized.
There's a difference between contributing to the forums and making pointless threads like this. Yes we do like it for you sharing your designs and having a bit of fun in the process. But just think about it; What is the likelihood of someone following this tutorial to build an bot design that's not even tournament legal?

When making tutorials, there's need to be a common problem to solve for someone who's playing the game for the first time or someone who needs to refresh their knowledge, for example if someone doesn't know how to stack batteries, doesn't understand OBJRA2 or gets confused around snapper loading etc. Then a need for tutorial arises and is created by someone with the knowledge as a solution to help those struggling. By the end of the tutorial, the player now knows how to solve their problem. Here you got a tutorial from some random experiment that most users wouldn't understand or have no need for building a bot type that's not tournament legal and/or ineffective in combat. There is no problem here, only a solution without reason. We get that you're trying to contribute, but this is starting to feel like the time when you spammed the wiki with a heap load of unnecessary edits which mostly contained false information, personal opinions or contained pointless links to an "notable" AI pack. Just, think twice before you make a tutorials and see if anyone else needs it before yourself.

A little off topic- are these bots antweights or beetleweights?
Beetleweights. Did you read the first post on this topic?

I feel that if this sort tournament would work if it generated interest outside of GTM. Just think about it, being a member on the unofficial RA2 Facebook page, there are plenty of non-GTM linked users who mostly build in DSL-IRL meta, but never really gave Stock unrealistic a try for numerous reasons. So it might to be a good idea to promote and show off what can be done in Stock else where as well as on GTM. Remember, it's only a suggestion to try and gain more interest for the meta outside of GTM, either if this tournament comes down to "Just give it ago". You could be surprised, there could be a few people out there who wish to enter.

Bildschirm, Good Robottal, and Arcane, please make some robots for OW3! (Make more robots, Bildschirm.)
Instead of demanding users to make more bots for OW3, Why don't you make an entry yourself?
I don't have the Robot Arena 2 game.

Then go to downloads, find DSL and download it? It's free

And install the DSC color packs, and get RA2CF to make your bots look more interesting
Or just go here for the complete edition: https://gametechmods.com/forums/modifications/dsl-2-2-complete-edition/

He Already made 3, which is the limit of entries per Person.
This is what I get for oversight. But thanks for informing me. For the original post, it's still no reason to demand users to make more entries, if they don't want to or have a explanation on why they're not making more entries.

While you had built Barricade mk closer to the cruiser-weight limit, the flipper and feeder wedge is too steep. You might want make the wedge for both the wedge and the flipper more shallow so that your opponents can actually be fed onto the wedge, instead of your opponents being able to get under your bot with ease, thus making your weapon useless against them.

Apart from that, I wouldn't use ant batteries to power your bot. They're fine if you are using them for an antweight or beetle, but they should be avoided like the plague if you plan to use them on heavier bot due to their low power put and weight distribution. With the amount of ant batteries, you could of easily replaced them with battlepacks or blacks and still save a bit of weight in the process. One last thing is that Barricade mk 3 wouldn't be classed as IRL due to one of battlepacks intersecting the motor.

Little Rust is underweight, even for a cruiser. Remember, build to the weight limit if you want to get the most out of your robots. For Little Rust, you could have better armour, another burst piston for another flipping arm or more batteries for power. Also it would help if you did post an screenshot of your bot's internals, so we can tell you if your using the right amount of batteries, right drive motors etc. We know from Little Rust that you're using NPCs for drive, but what about battery power or what type of burst is powering the weapon etc.?

I mean come on. Its been a month since the last update and with only two rounds left, there's little reason to leave this tournament in a state of dormancy. Then again, this tournament has already turned into one, large meme since earlier this year.

> Your bot must be a Lightweight, and come ready to be AIed. In other words, You'll need to post the corresponding binding for your bot. I will be fighting these bots as AI.

>  Once your bot is built, post a screenshot of it in this topic, along with a zipped folder containing...
- the LW bot
- the binding
- any notes about the bot such as performance and conditions the bot needs.
It'll probably be best if you just AI bots that don't have any bindings yourself, instead of demanding that all users should AI them themselves, just because you want more time to fight them. There's going to be entries from users who don't even know how to AI, and you can't just tell them to learn it themselves. Just say that you'll be happy to AI any entries but it would help if you AIed your entrant yourself. This is part of being a tournament host.
