Hello again, Like the challenge board we came up with some ideas for the tournament section and possible ways to streamline the system. Again, these where discussed in the Orc's Wars discord and the GTM one a tad later. Now it's here to allow those who haven't seen it to provide some imput.
Tourney section idea:
Rule discussion etc - Like it's current status, this is for refining rules and making changes before heading into signups Ongoing Tournies - This is for ongoing tournies, this includes signups with the SBV's. This seems to be a rather effective way of doing things as shown by Orc's Wars and Destruction Evolution. Close Entry Tournies - For tournies that contain pre-determined entries. However, these could be relegated to off-topic maybe, as they're pretty rare and usually gain little traction.
Similar to the old system, but possibly more efficient, and more clearer on naming
After sharing the idea with the GTM discord, Philippa inquired about whether it would be a single thread that moved across each section or one post per thread pertaining to each subject, these are both possible, in my own opinion, the former would seem a lot more streamlined, but can result in majorly lengthy threads that could be avoided with the later.
Another point made, was awards and incentives, awards are currently something we are looking into, but we don't think it's enough, even with the Mega Host title. We're open to suggestions, maybe enabling common hosts into the Advanced user rank might be a way to doing it, but we'd like to hear your thoughts on the matter.
I want to be able to remove stress of hosting 'official' tournies, whilst giving players a reason to make 'official' tournies over the current personal tournies. Thank you all for reading, it really does mean a lot.

Hi all, decided to share the ideas we've had for the challenge board, these have been discuss in the Orc's Wars discord and the GTM discord. Now for those who haven't seen it, here was the initial plan I had. The challenge board could be reverted into the old title system, to prevent large amounts of different titles being everywhere, I suggest it being HW only and split into 4 metas, DSL-S, IF, Stock and DSL-IRL. These work as a king of the hill esque infinite tourney, we can implement leaderboards into this either per user, or per bot, in how many victories they've had etc. This led to mentions of giving "Legendary" status to some users or bots, if they've met the required number of wins. Due to the mention of IRL, I'm sure you all have questions of the legitimacy of creating this sub section to the challenge board. We've come up with a few solutions to this, a. Imposing disclaimers that, "Your bot may have been accepted before, but due to the subjectivity of the meta, it can be rejected at any point", we chose this over a rule set as we felt that it'd be difficult to convert IRL builders to this mindset and overall counter intuitive to the meta. Following this, Orc had an idea to have an almost co-host to the challenge that would allow several opinions to be made, providing a fair evaluation on the bot, this is most likely to be notible builders. Finally, an arguement can be made that people will "tryhard" to win, but given that isn't what the meta is I feel that users aren't going to be making these poor tryhard bots with that intention. Following this, there was an idea presented by geese, instead to have the each meta become the same weightclass, but it cycles every month, this would remove the possibility of having "Legendary bot" status. A variation focus on the bot more compared to the builder was prototyped by Gulden, here's that. This makes it so that it's a display on the bots itself, rather than the builders, this could also work for the rotational weightclass as it would just be the bot that won the previous challenge in that weightclass. However, this could create issues to do with too many titles that would be floating around the forums associated with the challenge belt.

MW DSL-IRL Ai-ing your bots is encouraged, though I am able to do so. If unable to, I'll contact you about it, you can either replace it or withdraw. Once a robot is accepted, you have one update to the machine, skin changes however, are permitted from the rule. If all spots aren't filled I'll allow for 2 enteries per person, this will be first come first served. SnS and thwackbots are banned. EternalFlame.py is banned. Defensive armour is banned (ie: sledgehammer armour). Clusterbots are allowed, and must be within the weightlimit, combined. Swarm style bots are ok, but due to Ra2 being.... Ra2, only 2 bots at a time per fight. No burst limit, just don't be stupid with it and make the bot look like utter trash. Geese's motor fixes are good. DSC's IRL pack is good. Component freedom is good. BFE is good. My entry (Will only be entering if spots are needed) CB2 components Overkill motor Flatmotors (Normal and slow) Hworf blades Arena: Robogames Arena (Very original me) Battles are 3 minutes. Robots that do not show controlled movement for about 30 seconds will get eliminated. (ie: Spinning on 1 wheel isn't controlled) In the event that the match lasts the full 3 minutes with no clear winner it will go to the judges descision. 11 points for the fight that is split between the bots for each catagory. (ie: Damage 5-6 Aggression 7-3 Control 11-0) Havocs - each bot has 2 havoc resets, if a bot is to havoc a total of 3 times, the opponent will win via Havoc Victory. Here's how the tourney works: A simple double elimination bracket, in which at each stage of the bracket, the fights are randomised. This happens in each of the brackets, loser and winner. 32 entries Ironbound is ****ing gey.1. PrimevalBrony - Nanuq2. Pokebro - PERIDOT3. GuldenFlame - Ishe Creem4. NeonCalypso - Soulja Blade5. I think I need to make a statement on the current attitude that some members have within the discord. It's a matter of being aggressive to new users and general attitudes which I believe are left by the old discord.
A mob mentality in terms of baiting users, a often times up right mocking them is frequently used on the discord when it comes to new users that don't necessarily agree with the opinions generally viewed by the server or general conflict between attitudes of users. Not only this, it's that I feel the 'no rules' vibe of the previous discord has allowed members to blur the line between what isn't and what is ok. From this, other users within a similar mindset will then proceed to egg on one or both parties, creating more conflict between them, it creates a cycle of bullying which effects new users, and those who look to have new members join. This creates a community on that discord that becomes rather self-destructive. It's highly disappointing for members that wish to expand the community.
I understand that GTM isn't the super nice community, in which everyone's friendly to each other, sunshine and rainbows or whatever. But it's coming to a point in which the user base's attitude needs to change. This general poking the bear attitude to bait people is down right stupid.
I'm just straight up tired with some consistent actions taken by some members of the community on discord. GTM isn't toxic community, but the discord, in it's current state, is.

Hi, This is my first showcase of my bot 'Mantis 5' Initially I had tried to recreate 'Mantis' from Robot Wars Series 7 but had changed it into this. First I had started out using servo motors for the 'claw' and lifters, after that I had changed it into the current motors to create Mantis 2, after a few fights I noticed that the now flippers would work better if the had something to counter balance them, creating Mantis 3 (Also attached). Though only to find out they break off really easily, so I had remade the chassis to create Mantis 4 and finally upgraded the drive to HP Z-Teks to get Mantis 5. Would really appreciate the feedback, thanks. Mantis 3 Outer: https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/20070Mantis 3 Outer.PNGMantis 5 Outer: Mantis 5 Inner:
