Good golly. :o

Masterful!

Due to the unforeseen circumstances, I will not be able to reskin my bot.  If you want it to be that ugly color is fine by me, but if you want to pull it, I'll be ok with that.  Going through some emotional issues and lost complete focus.

Totally understand that situation, man. Take the time you need for you and don't worry! I'll keep you in for now and worst case scenario, try to give it a skin and message you to confirm it's ok.

For anyone else interested, we're now only a few entries away from meeting my 64 robot goal! Of course, I'll accept more entries after the first 64 come in, but only the most impressive 64 will be selected for the main tournament. Since I'm off from now until Friday afternoon, the next couple of days would be the perfect time to send me entries! You all have until the 13th of March though. :)

Something I love about this game is that anyone can make a robot, but it also gives people with a real artistic and technical talent a chance to do amazing things like DSC does.

I'm in awe and really impressed with how much effort you put into these modifications, man. Looking forward to seeing what you're working on fully fleshed out.

The way you plan out color schemes never ceases to impress!

I particularly like the eggbeater and Titan on this page. :)

I can see what RedAce is saying. The exhaust-pipe, spikes, and the antennae are all a little too much together, but 1 or even maybe 2 of the 3 would be perfect as is.

The angled spinners as a multibot HW looks great. I personally don't mind the lack of colors in them; simple and sleek.

44 applications within the week, this is really encouraging folks! We should hit 64 and beyond easily. :)

As is evident in the rules, some small modifications were made to address some personal concerns and questions that were raised in discussions about potential entries. If anyone was building thoughtfully and within the specifications/spirit of the rules already, these changes should not concern you.

Reskins and re-sends of existing entries are fine by me up until the March 13th deadline, as long as no changes are made to give your entry a competitive advantage over another bot in the tournament.

I mean technically you can send both. 3 robots per user.

Unless you had 2 others planned already and these are your choices for the 3rd?

You've done such a professional job running this and it is really a joy to watch. Controversies happen and probably always will, so it's good to see that you handled it as smooth as possible. :)

I sent a bot but he isn't in the list of bots that applied

Let me know if you received the PM and/or email that I sent. Could be something blocking messages between us, for some reason?

112
Just a friendly heads up, you're allowed to say who entered what into personal tournaments now.

Unless you want to keep it a secret, which is also 100% fine.

Cheers, this is awesome to hear! I made a general credits section at the bottom of the OP for now, then will credit each individual bot when applications end and selection day rolls around.

Sidenote: 14 bot applications on the first day alone was above and beyond what I expected. A big thank you to all those who have sent your impressive creations so far. May many more be on their way!

Yeah, I'm a big fan of the drums you've built and this one is certainly the best-looking yet.

The Wu-Pah! redesign you sent for MM has a really great, retro charm to it!

^Thanks! :)

Guess I gotta dust off ole Lappy the laptop

Fun fact: Actually named my laptop this on my apartment's shared network when I was younger.

Can't wait to see what you've got planned, guys!

Quick note: I made a couple of clarifications in the OP. I don't know why I cut it out when transferring my original comment to this topic, but obviously there are no re-entries from other tournaments allowed. These are all meant to be fresh designs.

Additionally, I made a quick clarification that only 1 part in a 2-part multibot needs to follow the Active Weapon rule, as it applies to the total entry.

Finally, this should go without saying, but keep all bot names pronounceable and realistic as well. I'll reject any "Carolina Campos etc..." situations or anything that would make a mother blush. I'm not a prude and I don't mind a little off-color humor, but trying to keep it somewhat professional on that front, since I'll be doing VOs.

I'd be so happy to enter this. I loved the BB seeding bracket format, so a RA2 version would be so cool.

Please do this, I'd be happy to enter

Please do! Tourney thread is in the Personal section now.

^Thanks, Olister! I'm curious more if, due to the format, it would have to be voted on and run in the competitive tournament section; or if I could run it just for shiggles in the Personal Tournament section?

So I'm not much of a builder as of late. But maybe some who can't build are better off hosting!

I'm in the March Madness mood, would anyone be interested if I just ran a casual tournament structured as a seeded bracket in the Personal section? I've been toying around with OBS a lot already and have been itching to do voiceovers and the like.

Details in the spoiler box:

Could this be a thing? I'm nowhere near experienced enough to feel like running a competitive tournament confidently. But I do imagine this could be a fun event that fits the spirit of the sporting season without being too hardcore.

But if I'm out of place suggesting this, just give me a slap in the face.
