That's not IRL. The tribar is clipping through whatever those light blue extenders are sticking out of the top.

Only just realised that this would have been the perfect tournament to enter Original the Robot into

Ah well

Unfortunately, you actually do need batteries when building a flipper, because burst motors consume electricity every time they fire. And because the AI is dumb and fires the weapon at every opportunity, you're going to run out very quickly.

Hoo boy, we wont be able to fuse stuff together, i like that. Need to test it

Its pretty rudimentary at this point.  I don't think there is any checking that happens if you edited your .RR2Bot file, for example.

I dunno how far you'd be able to go with that anyway. Like, if someone does do that, and the game detects it, what can you do about it? Prevent them from taking part in fights until they go into the bot lab and fix it?

Deja vu? I'VE JUST BEEN IN THIS TIME BEFORE

...but seriously, why is the axe attached to a spin motor and not a burst motor? And why are there two of them, with slightly different starting positions?

Hop ninja'd me while I was typing this, but a weapon clipping through the wedge is fine, since IRL you could cut a slot in the wedge. I'm more concerned about the fact that if that weapon's hooked up to a spin motor, it's gonna rotate 360 degrees and clip through your battery, and that's not IRL.

I saw the OW4 is done but where's AMMNO?
Toaster chose not to enter it. In fact, IIRC, he hasn't entered OW4 at all.

I'd say the Moros blade: it looks like it has better reach, and it's all one piece so you're not going to lose stability from having a part break off. Plus you've got the covers on the wheels now. (Any chance you could use smaller wheels, actually? I think you might have too much ground clearance right now, though it's hard to tell from these angles. Vlad wheels would fit the covers perfectly.)

I think you need more range, as well as stronger motor yeah. You can also downgrade the armor just fine to like Ti5 or To3
I'd go with Pl10 for the armour tbh

The one basic feature missing from every robot combat game since Extreme Destruction, and this guy just comes outta nowhere and implements it in a day. This is looking more and more promising with each screenshot (though of course, it's still early days).

Also, that first song was ParagonX9, right? Haven't heard that in many a long year.
It was from Helix6
That's the one! Ahhh, takes me back.

and yes, it will be playable only within couple of weeks :/
i'll be posting here small advancements, just to show the work in progress.

I mean, you're already further than I ever got when I tried prototyping a robot combat game in Unity!

That's a nice-looking wheel, too.

Definitely beef up the drive, four Astroflights is barely enough for a MW, let alone a CW or HW. If you don't have the chassis space then you might have to just rebuild it with a larger chassis. You also have too many batteries, just the two black ones (and maybe an ant) will be enough.

Hi all guys! I'm an old player of robot arena / robot arena 2. I ever played robot arena with some friends for many years. I find your recently videos of ur ra2 and i become crazy. I wanna take part of ur super community and tournaments! Can u tell me what i must download to make robot for tournament? Only the complete edition or some patch and addon? Thanks for info! Finally i come back to best memories  :heart_smiley:
Hello, and welcome! I think the Complete Edition should be everything you need to get started, though there are a couple of other add-ons (like Bildschirm's coloured drums and bars) that aren't in there yet. Most tournaments have pretty strict standards on what they will and won't accept, so I'd recommend making a showcase to post your robots and get feedback, and looking at other people's showcases to get a feel for what a good tourney entrant should look like. Maybe you'll get some ideas as well!

Hope you stick around and start entering tournaments!

You should use the attachments system to embed the images into your post, rather than linking to an external site. It's more convenient, plus I won't get confronted with ads for "sexy women in my area" while I'm on my lunch break at work. :dumb)

Judging from those screenshots, your game's still in a pretty early phase, but you've got component placement done and that's really the backbone of any bot-building system. I'll check out your Patreon when I get home, and I'll definitely keep an eye on this project.
