General Support / Changing the match countdown frame.
« on: December 13, 2016, 12:02:16 AM »
I've been digging through the files for a while now and one thing in the game I can't find.

I've been skinning my game quite a bit lately, and the match countdown frame is the one thing I can't find.

Any leads to where it is?

Site News and Feedback / Add an AI.py file section under downloads
« on: November 07, 2016, 03:15:25 PM »
Sure we have This thread, but it's 64 pages and hard to find specific stuff.
What I ask for is a section where people can upload custom AI .py files for others to use in AI their own robots.

Real Robotics Discussion / Biohazard rumor
« on: October 14, 2016, 12:22:22 AM »
I'm sure a few of you have heard the rumor about Biohazard being in season 8/3 of battlebots.

It started with this facebook post by the battlebots page and has stirred up a bit of the fanbase.  Hype? Bullsh*t?

Clay Platte Home Educators.   We are a team of Homeschooled robot builders in the 15 lb. weight division.
As of now we have participated in 2 BotsKC events(With a third on the way) with 2 different robots.

The first is the Stop sign of death.  We called it "Showstopper" just for kicks... It kinda stuck.
Kinda a bad view eh?
Well, here you can see it in action.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z3ZiUMCrG7M&index=4&list=PLZD_GrExnnNYrZDebLSXhZm6jX9gw26-D

We wanted a simple approach for our first battles.  The original plan was to fit a lawnmower blade on top.  That would've been fun.  But weight restraints aided in preventing that.

However, a huge flaw was, our armor bent, and made us high centered.  Immobilizing us multiple times.

Our strategy was simple.  ABUSE THE 10 SECOND PIN LIMIT!  This abuse cause some controversy and... they nerfed us.  In our second and third battles (Including the one above) the rules were changed so we had to pin them for 5 seconds, then let them free and let them get away.  Overall, we got 3rd place in a 5 bot tourney (With one bot not working)

Year 2 we decided to have an actual weapon!  However, we didn't have much to go for in terms of parts.
Thus, "Spare Parts" was born!

Here it is in action.

As you can tell our opponents that year were... unique.

As for our bot, we found the weapon to be ineffective.  Perhaps wedglets could've been a good idea.

On a side note, we fought against the eventual champion in Round 1 and won!  That was an achievement honestly.

With double the roster this year, (Meaning 10 bots) we pulled off 3rd place AGAIN!  Should we proud or sad?

Anyway with year 3 on the horizon, we're looking for another new design.
Hopefully we'll do better than 3rd this year.

Yes, having a cruiserweight competition so close to the time of the Robot wars tournament was probably dumb, but I was anxious.  :dumb)

Tournament Archives / Systimatic meltdown
« on: September 16, 2016, 11:17:23 PM »

In my spare time, I made a Heavyweight tournament staring the AI of The DSL reborn AI pack.   Feel free to Criticize for lack of professionalism and editing.  But most of all, enjoy.
Note that Grog the Vengeful is sadly banned due to multiple game crashes and havok explosions.  :(

Now all I need to do is learn how to AI and I'll be set up for REAL tournaments.  ;)

General Support / Flextop makes controls backwards.
« on: September 04, 2016, 05:10:53 PM »
After installing DSL 2.2, the flextop arena has forced my controls backwards.  I thought it would go away after awhile, but nope.
The opponents even drive backwards!

A side note, touching the arena will cause continuous damage to the bot.
