nice, the shape kinda reminds me of 900 just slightly more boxy (is it as deadly as 900 though? that is the real question) also Discord channel? is it like your own or a gametechmods discord? (nvm found it i think)

Really like that weapon system though
when i put scarab up on the showcase i hadn't tested it at all but i can confirm that it is very good at doing exactly what its designed for as in holding onto bots while ripping into them with the disc and the pincers do a decent amount of damage too Edit: scarab now has a decent paint scheme and i had to remove some of the wheel protection since i needed more weight for another battery and i've added hypno teeth as one they do more damage and two they don't clip through anything

the only thing that really intersects is the teeth on the disc, the other parts are fine but i can see where your coming from entirely my fault with the dodgy top down view
unfortunately i have no idea how to do skins the fact i can make a good bot but can't give it a good skin is really annoying
also the next bot im gonna make will be a lexan bot since i've seen a few of them on demonoftommorow's robogames tournament and they look great

Ok so i haven't been on ra2 for a while and atm my showcase is pretty much a ghost forum devoid of any life so im going to re ignite the flame with my newest creation. Scarab 2 Armor: 5mm titanium Weapon(s): quad toothed horizontal flywheel and 2 steel heavy spike tipped pincers (with spike strips on the inner part of the pincers for extra damage) Drive: 2 twmr3 drive motors Power: 2 sealed lead acid batteries Cost:40-50 minutes Notes: scarab 1 is from ra3 EDIT: whats this weird new attachment system? not that i haven't seen this kind of system before but its weird seeing it on this site (well either that or i've forgot how to upload images probably) Another Edit: scarab 1 for anyone who wants to know

I'm dissapointed in whiplash it should have been way better than it was but this is life oh well rip cage will be entering the next one and that completely destroyed whiplash in testing and more or less most of my other SHW bots.
Also im pretty sure whiplash got very unlucky since those were the one type of bot able to beat it by being low enough not to get chucked all over the place maybe it will redeem itself in the losers bracket but if not im disowning it

Rofl copter vs hollowed soul: Rofl copter in my opinion had a very unfortunate loss as it completely demolished red bull to the point that irl red bull might have had to forfeit but was too unstable in that fight according to rules and life
Appreciate the kind words, and know that you're not the only one saying that. Even IRL, ROFLcopter is actually controllable with proper timing of weapon switching (or failsafe). It's the ai that kept the weapon on which caused the wobble and keeping the wheels off the ground. But it did get the win so I'm fine with that. On to the next victim! Err... fight!
yeah this is why we need a proper MP server since robots that are stable when player controlled can be much less stable in the ai's control and vice versa, i mean one of my bots whiplash 3 (the original one is competing in the SHW bracket) is a lot more stable when the ai uses it where as when i use it the weapon tends to over blance the bot every time i hit somone or turn too quickly so technically the ai is cheating

Cream and vanilla ice vs oceana: Funny how cream and vanilla ice went out the exact same way as they did before, the one getting immobilized inside the ring while the other was completely thrown out, also i really like the look of bots like oceana with the poly carbonate showing all the parts inside. Rofl copter vs hollowed soul: Rofl copter in my opinion had a very unfortunate loss as it completely demolished red bull to the point that irl red bull might have had to forfeit but was too unstable in that fight according to rules and life (robot wars mauler rejection anyone?) however it seems life avenged this tragic loss of memes by allowing rofl copter to throw hollowed soul completely oota sorry hollowed soul but its double thumbs up from me censorbot and mass accelerator: Ok so censorbot (sorry names too long) and mass accelerator was essentially for the most part a pushing match or a piggyback ride however i was surprised by the durability of MA's teeth since most of the fight consisted of censorbot while being pushed shoving spikes straight into MA's face. Schools out completely vs fighter MK4: was a very quick fight and ended with the guts being ripped from fighter MK 4 i'd give more of a comment however to be honest that was more or less it. Headpats only! vs radio/video Ok so I was hoping to see Headpats do better so its nice to see it demolish some clusterbots however I think its problem is it spins up too slowly which allowed canine and radio/video (at first) to close in and stop it from spinning up and becoming a threat in which case I recommend a more powerful motor like the perm 200 or 6 mag twmr gearbox. Permafrost and snowflake vs chad: was.....dissapointing as i was hoping that they'd hit eachother then get knocked back form the force of the impact but instead chad basically just minced permafrost and snowflake just floated there (does snowflake even have a purpose? not mocking in any way its actually a genuine question) The tamil kings vs crocognaws: at first i thought the tamil kings would decimate crocognaws however it turned out very differently than i thought it would with chera being knocked out i thought at that point croc would win however chola decimated crocs wheel which i believe was the reason the tamil kings barely scraped through. all in all it was a pretty enjoyable losers bracket allowing some robots like Headpats to show what they are capable of

ok so i haven't been on for a while so i've been catching up and let me say i cannot believe canine won that fight as i thought i was gonna get creamed by that ring spinner especially when i saw part of my wedge come off that was the "oh no" moment.
I thought Headpats Only! would win it on damage however looks like that wedge was actually stopping canines weapon from reaching Headpats Only! and due to it being ripped off in a way Headpats actually defeated itself by taking away the one part that was stopping canine from being able to harm it.
i personally think That was a good fight, yes there was not much carnage involved however seeing the wheels of both robots spinning furiously to gain grip to push the other for me was great and tbh when canine pushed Headpats into the corner it remined me of a boxing match.
I think it was the fact that canine was too quick for Headpats to get up to speed that allowed canine to win and i think if canine had been slower Headpats would have ripped it apart so GG or in this case Good fight, Im just glad to know that canine wasn't a waste of time and actually won its first fight.
Edit: seeing people go on about tryhards in a fighting tournament no offense to any but it is a fighting tournament hence why even after people in my showcase said canine's wheels were protected enough by the chassis i stuck armor plates on anyways as in tournaments you never know whats going to happen.
Im going to be honest here, if these bots were player controlled then splicer 2 would be a lot weaker than it is now as its wheels are completely exposed and normally thats the first thing i'd go for as once the wheel is destroyed since this is an irl tournament its basically game over however the ai is not clever enough for things like tactics unfortunately.
put your stuff in a spoiler :P
was wondering why everyone recently started using spoilers....will do

and tornado is a vertical spinner
(Image removed from quote.)
I'm surprised you didn't mention Bombshell Ava
sorry i don't count the anti pit device thank you as much as i like tornado that device is a no with me so what should i do to it because quite frankly i have no clue how to improve it/make it look more unique

ok let me be more specific an invertible horizontal bar spinner not a disc and i can't win if i made it wider carbide clone if i put the bar inside the chassis fluffy clone and tornado is a vertical spinner

wow you seem a little salty today jesus christ just because it looks like tombstone doesn't automatically mean i based it off it i actually based it off ripcage but without making it completely out of extenders so it had the same devastating weapon but a heavyweight instead of SH
you can't exactly make a horizontal bar spinner without it looking like tombstone

« on: August 14, 2017, 07:17:39 AM »
Ok so ripper mk8, it basically looks like tombstone but with a much bigger bar weapon and a kind of wedge on the back (the bar is more or less the same one i use on ripcage but this is a heavyweight) Ripper MK8 Armor: 5mm titanium Weapon: horizontal bar spinner Drive: 2x twmr3 drive motors Power:3x sealed lead acid batteries Cost: 36 minutes Notes: had to redesign it 3 times

Ok so im not fighting virtue and vice im fighting some other clusterbot that looks no where near as good as in its going to be a much duller fight since from the looks of it its a flipper wedge clusterbot against a vertical spinner which practically touches the floor so.....yeah. Not as exciting as 2 vertical spinners going against each other but on the bright side i don't have to worry about my wheels being torn off anymore ps: f1krazy at least you got to see your bot fight im still nervously anticipating my fight and how whiplash will perform against other people's creations

ok so im pretty happy with slice & dice now, dice performs much better than before (only just manages to stay alive for 3 minutes though) and slice's battery power has been reduced to add on proper wheel guards. ps: the extenders on dices wheels are to help it when it ends up on its side to right itself as the wedges caused problems and stopped it self righting slice dice

Couple of thing, this being a cluster bot is it for CW or HW? If it's HW you still have 200kg left between to two. As for dice, wedges as avalanche suggested would be good, also change that black bat to a red, you're only powering 3 spinmotors, what you can do with both bats is lay in on it's side and closer to the motor as with the control board, with this you could shorten the length of the bot, save weight and to support the disc using extenders like with a triangle shape. Finally with Dice what is the alu extenders for by the motors if it's for the motors you don't need to do that just place the motors in.
With Slice, ballasts I don't think are needed possibly extender the length of the chain on the weapon motor and get larger teeth or if that's not possible smaller disc small typhoon teeth
cw and slice doesn't have any ballasts and about the batteries maybe they are overkill but the adot irl tournament is the first ra2 tournament i've seen and im pretty sure at least 5 bots maybe more have gone out due to them running out of power so maybe it is a bit overkill but i always run on the better safe than sorry excuse so......yeah, and the aluminium extenders make it so it doesn't take me 10 years to get the motors perfectly lined up due to my sh*t mouse. As i said though im not happy with it not yet so i will make more adjustments to them (mostly dice) and hopefully will get something that looks better as i made them more or less straight after i made the do a barrel roll cluster bot

ok so Slice & Dice is a horizontal and vertical spinner cluster-bot, i'm happy with Slice but for some reason i'm just not happy with Dice even though i've rebuilt it 3 times and i can't for the life of me figure out why. Slice Armor: 5mm aluminium Weapon: Horizontal spinning toothed disc Drive: 2x slimbody motors Power: 2x lead acid batteries Cost: 25 minutes Notes: slimbody placement was very annoying Dice Armor: 3mm titanium Weapon: vertical spinning toothed disc Drive: 2x slimbody motors Power: 2x lead acid batteries Cost: almost an hour due to the constant rebuilds Notes: still not happy with it

Well. Seeing as Thyrus basically confirmed the result of the fight, guess I don't need to bother with spoiler tags.
On one hand, I'm impressed with the durability of my robot. On the other hand, i'm disappointed I won via the WALL. Oh well.
Panzer Strike Mk. II can't selfright because of how heavy the robot is, so if I come up against a flipper I will insta-lose. Also, I'm up against Super CarboniZe next, so that's probably going to go poorly as well.
"Panzer Strike Mk. II can't selfright" Im sorry but i have to (no offence intended)
