Dunno if anyone remembers this old thing but I did a rework. Front on the old one was entirely extenders which was absolute aids, so I fixed that, and also gave it a wee bit more shape. Spent like 3 hours trying to sort the extenderwork at the back which was legit some of the hardest panelwork I've ever done, and I'm still not entirely satisfied (definitely a wee bit messy), but other than that I'm pretty happy. It's a tad unerweight ATM so I may go to two VDMA front hinges for the flipper as it's currently a single storm

Really impressed me in PWT, both visually and performance wise. I do think the defence config is just all around a better robot than the attack config though. IMO it looks nicer, and it also seemed to perform better (not that the attack one performed particularly badly though)

Gave it a pan which both makes it work better and makes it look better

Been having a mess around with 2.5 and wanted to make a hammer utilising the new hammer bursts and the judge gavel. This is wha I came up with. Definitely some rough edges that need ironing out particularly on the front, and it's not gonna be competitive because it has no wedge ATM. I may try to give it a dustpan of some kind in the near future if I can find a bit of weight, and that would also go some way to hiding the seam on the front pontoons where the baseplate doesn't fully line up. Largely though I think it looks decent, and it was fun experimenting with some of the new 2.5 components too.

Bunch of work done to get it in the HW limit. Dropped over 250kg which is quite a feat considering it doesn't look all that different. Swapped to a microvore, which I would skin if doing so wasn't literal hell due to how sh** the mesh is for it, and just generally optimised my extenderwork. Did have to drop some of the wedge to Ti which I was trying to avoid, but they're fairly big plates so should still be reasonably durable. Corners are still steel.

Underweight for an SHW, overweight for a HW ATM, but largely done visually. Will definitely be coming back to it internally though, ideally to give it more drive as it's way underpowered in that department ATM. Will likely be one of my RW3 entrants

Nah, that little joint by the wedgelet. The one the game always tries to sneak in on you.
Think I've sorted it

Ahh I see. It MIGHT be possible to fix it with the right combination of angle pieces. I think I've got a 22.5 degree and a 10 degree angling it inwards ATM. Maybe a 45 degree with a 10 degree in the other direction would get them meshing seamlessly. I'll have a tinker at some point soon

I love watching angled discs kill things. The colors and layout are great. Only nitpick would be that panel corner but those never want to line up right.
10/10 want to fight this killer pokeball.
Which panel corner are you referring to? The one in front of the wheel?

Another update to this to bring it in line with the current rules. Updated the section on wedge design because it was poorly worded before to stress the importance of having your wedge being pressed into the ground by the hinge, and also gave a short rundown of the advantages and disadvantages of panel wedges vs wedgelets. Additionally, added a bit about flipper arc limits that exist now.

Frankly I think releasing fully custom components is a compatibility and balancing nightmare and would undo all the good work done with 2.4 to finally standardise everyone's installs so hosts aren't constantly having to look for some component that they don't have installed that someone used on a bot without realising that not everyone has it, especially with 2.5 in the pipeline which could potentially have wildly different component balance.

Hey remember that stuff about not doing much damage? Yeah that's not a thing anymore. Pretty standard fare for a bot update. Went back to it and realised there were a bunch of areas I could build smarter to save some weight without really compromising the looks at all, and with that weight I invested in a mech disc instead of the weedy shell disc + 2 small typhoons. This should certainly be more damaging, and possibly more durable too, though I'm not sure because of how frequency affects the damage that components take as well as dish out. Certainly an improvement competitiveness wise, and visually it still looks good too, though I did kinda like the bolts on the spinner from the shell disc.

The next PWT leg is in the combat arena which means Monsieur Grand Flipper Bleu will have to take a timeout due to the lack of pits and OOTA zones. As a result I decided I'd build a new HS since I don't normally do those. Went for a kinda Wild Thing style thing with some influences from Skorpios too, though I did aim to make it pretty distinct from either of those. Obviously with only 2 small typhoons it's not gonna be particularly competitive, but it looks pretty decent I think which is IMO a rarity for HSes, and you get 3 bots in PWT anyway so my other 2 entries can do the heavy lifting competitiveness wise.

What "Recent Events" are you talking about? Is there I place where I can find discussion about this taboo incident?
all of the vets and top builders aside from like robo are massive cheaters
Nice work with scanner, Silverfish. Definite a welcome release

It's already here. Also, ever tried DSL?

That doesn't have any OOTA zones As for commissioning and arena, you're probably gonna have a hard time. There's only a few people around who actually have the skillset to make an arena, and from what I understand it's a hell of a lot of work. Your best bet would probably be something like the starcore arena, which has a pair of pulverizers and 2 arena flippers in the centre (similar to the octagon arena) but that has OOTA zones the whole way around. The arena's fairly big though and the walls are reasonably high so with the stock bots you're using OOTAs shouldn't be too common. Here's a screenshot of it:

The fact that they're basically just a coinflip of who gets ganged up on should be reason enough to stop doing rumbles, let alone the fact they make the game sh** itself on top of that.
(Image removed from quote.) get owned bong
Whoever put rumbles in the game needs putting against the wall

What arena is being used? I can't find text regarding that either.
