Nice avatar. Interesting bot. Try getting the spikes completely outside of the chassis, it will look better.

Best album of all time. I agree that the spikes would look better completely outside of the chassis. I'll try to fiddle with it some more, but it took me a while to even get them to their current state. Thanks for the feedback

I'm learning a few things from this thread as well: need to replace my flipper bots' skirt wedges with wedgelets. Duly noted.

Bocuma looks pretty neat too, it won't have Delta levels of power but should cause plenty of damage with all those spike strips. The batteries should actually be fine, as the Storm front-hinge burst motors can eat through your battery life surprisingly quickly. Looking good! You seem to be improving faster than I am :P

Definitely won't be as powerful as Delta, but should be faster, more manoeuvrable and better armoured. Still has more than enough power to OOTA bots with ease. Cheers for the compliments

Redditbots have a very funny definition of what would be possible/workable in real life. :)

Perhaps :). Nonetheless, I'd be stupid not to exploit their slightly questionable definition of IRL.

New Tommib's looking great!
Really really not a fan of the wedge on that new one though, IRL should always be about making something look super real, and that doesn't. If you need it, why not try moving the hinge backwards in the chassis so only a short amount of wedge pops out. It'll look a lot netter for it.
Alternatively go for 'wedgelets' made with the flipper makers in Extenders or the Steel/Titanium wedges found under the Beater Bar menu in Weapons!

I did originally have it shorter but it wasn't as effective. I'm not really going for a 100% IRL build with this bot (At least not 100% IRL by GTM's rules) as I'm entering it into the next Redditbots, which allows skirt wedges. If there's a rule change I can always remove the skirt wedge and go for something different, but for now I think i'll stick with the way it is.

I'm pretty much happy with Tommib now, so I might as well post another bot. This is my intended Redditbots 2 competitor (Hence the skirt wedge): Bocuma. 2X Storm front hinge pistons power the weaponry (Which is a front hinge flipper) and there's 2X Fast NPCs with Tazbot wheels for drive. Probably overkill battery power again. Also has 8X spike strips so that it can inflict some damage. My reasoning behind the spike strips is to hopefully destroy opposing robots' skirts, which it seems pretty decent at doing from my testing against the DSL AI bots.

Internals Here (Again, with top removed to show components better)

Tommib V. More armour, srimech gone, now powered by 2X Battlepacks.

you still don't need those 2 big batteries, use the 1 long black one, make the chassis height lower, and maybe move the drive motors further apart and use the extra weight for some cool wheelguards. Lookin good tho!

Chassis is as low as it can go and still fit a Perm-132. Toyed with the idea of external wheelguards but it looked a bit clunky when I tried it. I'll reduce the number of batteries further though, I'm just paranoid about the srimech using up tons of power (I know that spin motors use basically no power)

Edited Tommib III to make some of the changes you guys suggested. I present to you TOMMIB IV!

Tried to make all of the changes you guys suggested. Skirt wedge is gone in favour of a steel armour plate "spinner killer" wedge. Chassis has been shrunk slightly and some batteries removed (Had to use smaller wheels though and the motors seem to be clipping through the rear of the bot slightly because of this though. Also the srimech is slightly janky now)

Only change I didn't make was changing the stock angle connectors on the spinner supports for DSL angle pieces. My extender skills are terrible, and it came out looking awful when I tried to do it.

Internals of the bot can be seen here. This is with the steel top armour removed so that you can see the components better.

Welcome to the forums! Your bot looks great for a newbie. It looks like you're going for an IRL-style bot, in which case I would ditch the skirt wedge, as by most accounts they are disallowed on IRL bots under most circumstances. It also looks like you've gone way overboard on the batteries, you have 3 spin motors so you only need a single black battery.

Thanks for the feedback. Skirt wedge is there because I'm considering entering this into the next Redditbots if there is one, which has IRL rules but allows skirt wedges. In terms of batteries you're definitely right, but I have this terrible habit of just filling up any empty space in my bots with batteries until the hit the weight limit. Will most likely shrink the chassis a bit and reduce the number of batteries for the next incarnation.

Been lurking here for a while now and finally decided to do a post.

First bot is called Tommib III. It is a VS. Weapon is powered by an EEL Perm-132. Srimechs are powered by Slow Mag Snappers. Drive is 2X fast NPCs. Definitely a lot of room for improvement (Chassis is quite large) so I'm looking for feedback on how to improve.
