My deck's not built yet. Once I get DN working, I'll get to it asap.

First off, for a heavyweight, the bot doesn't have anywhere near enough weapons, and it is very underweight. You should try to hit the 800kg point for a hw.

Yeah, the stylus implementation can get irritating, but you get used to it. I would've liked to see some buttons we could use, instead.

I remember not liking this, but I can't remember why exactly.
Stylus implementation into the battle system was what made me quit it. If it was a straight up RPG, I would've liked it. The soundtrack, as I remember it, wasn't that bad, imo, it just sounded a bit compressed/low quality, which is a shame because I love the following theme:

From what I heard, the music was low-quality, because it was rushed, as they planned to use original sonic music, but they couldn't get the rights off the band.

Like I said, it's questionable.

read the title and thought it was an edgy fanfic

Well, then it would be in chatterbox, wouldn't it?

Hey, anyone remember this game?

I remember it well, considering it was my first trip into the rpg genre, and I looked at it again recently, and it is a decent entry level rpg, and a damn fine sonic game. It is a shame that the sequel is stuck in limbo, due to copyrighting issues with a staff member regarding the comics, and the similar designs in SC. Although, Sega barely acknowledge this game's existence, anymore, which is a shame, as this game is decent.

The art is great, the music is... Questionable, at best, the graphics are decent, for DS, and the story is pretty good for a sonic game. There are some twists here and there that genuinely shocked me.

Definitely worth picking up, especially considering it's relatively cheap to get pre-owned

8.5/10 better than boom

Underwhelming is fine. I just want to actually have a proper deck that I can turn to.

I'm thinking of doing a Nephthys deck. Any objections to this? Only asking because I know nothing of the meta :P

EDIT: Ugh, grammar!

I play occasionally, so I may join this tournament, once I get this DN thing. I'll have to make a decent deck, as well, because my irl one is :dumb)

I'm not sure people want lifting arms. Never heard them mentioned here.

Everyone wants /more/ lifters quickly become flippers or launchers, or something like that.  It all boils down to how they do motor shafts and pistons, if those are finicky like RA2 you're in trouble, if they apply forces correctly we can do whatever.

What will be interesting for me is where the balance ends up, Like ive said if we come up with scales for everything (motor power to battery usage, armor HP to weapon hp, traction VS wheel weight or diameter ect. ect. ect.) and slightly move those around every few tourneys, (probably via simple scripts) we could have a very interesting metagame that will keep folks engaged and playing/experimenting instead of coming up with one apex design and sticking with it.

B- *mumbles a famous robot with lifting arm under his breath*

you mean HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION

So Vlad

Getting a bit off topic, there, lads.

A balanced stock mod would be interesting.
That's basically the idea, a beginner friendly stock with more parts and possibly having some RW(not sure about Battlebots) remakes.

Update:
Added two more questions that I forgot yesterday:

Is it possible to completely change the weight, so that 100kg would be heavyweight, 60 middleweight, 30 lightweight and to add different weight classes(that actually work in events?) The main points here would be to edit weight classes and component weight calculation.

Can the speed of burst motors(swing forward/go back) speed be completely adjusted? I'd like to maybe have super fast(but weak) hammers or powerful flippers that do have a small cooldown.

You can't change weight class requirements (which is the main issue with IF), because you need to directly modify the .exe to do that.

Burst motor speed can be adjusted via the .txt file, I think.

Okay. Here's a question for the devs:

Would it be possible to build more complex weapon systems/ robot designs than RA2? For example, would a lifting arm be possible?

Raise your lifting arms! the botlab is a much better system, I really like that you can mold the chassis around the parts that you place!, But it can still be improved further, we all want proper full-bodied spinners, flippers and lifting arms right?

I'm not sure people want lifting arms. Never heard them mentioned here.

I don't know much about bot building, but I think it's probably better to start with something simple and easy. This sounds difficult.

Those examples are terrible. Anyway, if I'm not a big fan of the idea of furries (you do what you wanna do, but I'm not a fan), then it's gonna be a turn-off, to me.

What will be the preset weight limit?

I'm gonna guess the stock weight limit.

Although, I do wonder if it will be possible to edit the placement of components, rather than constantly remove, add, remove, add.
