Off-Topic Discussion / Re: Zootopia
« on: April 27, 2016, 03:15:08 AM »
I'm afraid it's not a valid argument to use opinion when Red said it so matter-of-factly. He was imposing his opinion, not stating it, by insinuating that there was clear pandering to furries. It's fine for him to dislike a trailer if he believes there is pandering to furries but he shouldn't be stating it as if it's an objective fact.
Kinda' sorta' what I was getting at.
The movie only seems like its pandering, but it honestly isn't.
Hell... Disney has always made movies about anthro animals/etc. Dunno' what makes those any different from Zootopia.
My post about Disney directly marketing to furries was deleted, but it was true and and this is what I was talking about. Not saying anything is wrong with that, and I think it was a smart marketing decision, but it is true.
One of your posts was deleted?
Fuking hell...

But seriously. As long as it beat Frozen, who cares =D
(Not saying Frozen was bad or anything; But it became quite large right off the bat)

Please, ANYTHING with a decent story can beat frozen.

Pensulum summoning ios quite simple, actually. The pendulum cards each have a number on the red and blue gems either side of the text box, when you play two pendulum cards in the pendulum zones (either side of the main play area), you can, essentially, special summon any monsters between  the two numbers (e.g if I play a 1 and a 7, I can summon any monsters level 2-6). They're quite overpowered, actually, 'cause you can play them both in one turn (as spell cards, that is, because you can normal summon them like monsters), and just special summon a load of high-powered monsters. Yes, there are pendulums with 1 and 14 on them, and you can play them together. That is essentially a win for most matches.

Nah, they're treated as spell cards, so they're not monsters when in the pendulum zones.

One thing to mention is that cards in the pendulum zones can be attacked and destroyed like regular monsters. At least I think they can, I'm not too sharp on these pendulum things either.

Nah, they're treated as spell cards, so they're not monsters when in the pendulum zones.

Y'know, I think it'd be a good idea to have some sort of tier system in the workshop, and you can turn off certain tiers, 'cause something makes me think some people will just spam garbage-tier robots, or meme-bots, meaning noone can get hold of any decent bots.

also, the possibility that a pirating noob (like me) gets some severe virus that ends up screwing their computer. It's a safe bet to just go with something free when you're starting out. I'll try this videopad. I wouldn't mind making some professional-looking videos to put on YT. I already have recording software, and I already have voice recording software. I just need to use blender to make a decent intro. ( which I can do, no worries, there.)

Can I just apologise for my previous post on this thread? I can wholeheartedly say... It still looks naff

Merry Christmas and have a crappy new year

Love, Grandma Meister :heart_smiley:

If you don't think it looks good, fair enough, but alt accounting is still inexcusable.

Oh, lord. I just looked up what Penders did after sonic with his "original characters donnut steel" and I found this on his website

(Image removed from quote.)

What the hell did he do to them?
That one isn't too bad, the original was nightmare fuel with those spike teeth and creepy look.

Oh, yeah. The pseudo-CG sorta one. That one was terrifying, but this... This is just wrong...

Fair enough, you don't like it, and I understand why. To answer your question: Yes, there are copyright issues, as a former artist of the sonic comics (which much of sonic chronicles was heavily based on) has taken copyrights on some of the common enemies and settings in the comics (SWATbots, etc.), as well as some of the storylines being almost completely parallel to the comics (e.g. Shade is very similar to Julie-Su, as she is also an echidna who defected from the "evil" side). So, Sega are playing it safe to ensure that they don't get into a copyright battle with this artist.
Thanks, nice to see that there are people on the internet that understand others opinions. I do have to say that it's not that bad, still a ok game and I can see why people like it, after all it's the closest we got to a Sonic RPG.
Was this the same dude that now took Julie Su(which is why the comics had to reboot) and is now doing his "original" thing with "totally not knuckles"?

If that guy's name is "Penders" (or something similar, because my memory is terrible), then you'd be correct.

That's not what I meant. You can't just fusion summon things, you need a spell card like Polymerization.

...do you even know how to play Yugioh?

Moderately. All the special stuff can get confusing, though. I will make changes post-haste!

I get that you want to fusion summon Darkfire Dragon of all things, but do you even have a card that lets you summon it?

Yeah. I have two copies of both petit dragon and firegrass.

Originally wasn't going to reply as I don't have much positive to say, but oh well, might as well do:

Sorry, I don't really have much in common with your opinion, I do think that this is sadly one of the worst sonic games, with a lot of lack for a potential fun sonic RPG, instead we get a game that's full of gimmicky controls, new characters(which from what I've seen, didn't add much) and music that's made out of random background sounds.

This game could've just taken part in sonic's classic universe, having an open world like green hill where you actually fight motobugs and buzzbombers instead of random green armored armadillos and swarms of wasps, graphics are ok(could've been better, but then again it's the DS) and music... I'd say it's on the bad side but some tracks do somewhat sound ok, as if they were some alpha/first preview. I guess it was also the Ds' hardware which made the music so low quality.
Quote
From what I heard, the music was low-quality, because it was rushed, as they planned to use original sonic music, but they couldn't get the rights off the band.
It does actually use some sonic tracks in it, and those aren't exactly high quality either.

Is it really copyright issues that stopped the second game? I've heard that the first one just didn't go that well so a second one was never considered.

In short, I wouldn't say it's a good game, but probably ok. Fan Games have always done a better job at it, even if they didn't have high quality art and only were good for it's time, I do remember Final Fantasy Sonic(named because it has a Final Fantasy styled battle system) and Sonic RPG, which I'd consider somewhat good if you're ok with newgrounds stuff and don't find everything instantly cringeworthy, even if they were basically flash movies for the most part.

Fair enough, you don't like it, and I understand why. i actually kinda want to play it just cus it's made by bioware for whatever reason

It's not the most amazing Bioware game, but it is definitely worth picking up. Although, Id say you really shouldn't spend any more than £15 on it. (so don't try looking for it new, as it can get quite expensive)

My deck's not built yet. Once I get DN working, I'll get to it asap.
I just went through the registration process and I see that it doesn't ask you to input anything twice, which is rather weird. So, you may have accidentally spelled your email wrong when signing up. Just give it another go and go over what email you wrote to see if it's correct. Same goes for your password, actually. Be careful you don't mistype that because there's no verification.

If that is the case, you may want to go for a different name because it seems that DN uses up the username regardless of whether or not you use the confirmation email:
(Image removed from quote.)

E-mail's definitely correct, as when I try to use it on a different username, it tells me it's already used. Hold on, I'll try to set up a different account on a different email.

EDIT: Done. It must've not agreed with my email. New username is RedBlur

EDIT #2: Bloody hell, this is clunky. Can anyone tell me how anything works, here? How do I discard cards? How do I do anything? Why can you cheat?
