So I am AI'ing a robot and no matter what I do to this: 'nose':math.pi, the robot always seems to face backward when beginning a match. It's forward facing is correct in the bot lab, too. Anyone else had this problem before?

Jonzu thought it would be good to end this series with just Series 8 DSL Edition, especially after series 9 went asunder, by releasing a pack with the all the AI'ed bots. After a year and half and the ownership of the tournament changing hands to another host, the tournament has finally drawn to a close. Huge congratulations to this guy: Also, congratulations to for coming in 3rd and 2nd place respectively. Time for the awards (I'd rather get these over with now, rather than waiting weeks just for 5 people to vote): Most promising newcomer - DragonSteinCole with Sir Lance-a-Frog (Other nominees: Lemonism and NWOWWE) Luckiest robot - Tricerabot (for doing bugger all and getting to the heat final) Unluckiest robot - Gravity (due to his flipper breaking before he had a chance to do anything - Other nominees: Reckoning and Tornado) Flipping mad! (Best flipper) - Wheely Big Cheese (Other nominees: Flipping Frenzy 7 and Thermidor II) Spin to win! (Best robot with a spinning weapon, apart from the obvious) - Blasteroid (Other nominees: The Thermite and PulverizeR) I suppose that's all. Had to innovate a bit with the awards because the rest of the Robot Wars awards didn't match with RA2. I had a lot of fun with this tournament, albeit being a bit tedious and/or frustrating to edit sometimes.

If you have never seen the first 2, here's the gist: You must enter with two bots, one heavyweight, the other lightweight. They must look very similar/identical to give the father-son impression. Rules: Both robots must fit the weight limit. All robots are to be made in the botlab of DSL 2.1 (no custom components or editing the bot outside of the botlab but custom smartzones are allowed). *BFE is allowed to make the bot look more realistic. Using BFE otherwise will result in the bot/team being rejected.The IRL rule is being used (so no robots you wouldn't see in real life). Due to the above rule, the inside of the robot remains IRL as well (in other words, no stacking of battery packs, etc.) Full body spinners and multibots are banned. No use of glitches whatsoever. Cheatbot2 is banned (however, one Judge Burst Motor per bot is allowed.) The robots must have at least 2 wheels touching the ground and can show controlled movement. However, if the robot is a walker, this rule does not apply and it gets a 100kg weight increase. *If one of your robots displays uncontrolled movement for more than 15 seconds, the team will be disqualified.Any Havok Explosions that occur will result in the match being restarted. When one team have caused the match to restart due to Havok Explosions more than twice, that team is disqualified. The BBEANS 2 arena will be used (hazards on) and every match will last 3 minutes. No SnS or *beater walls.Notes: I will AI if you do not wish to or cannot do it yourself. All entries will be checked on a first-come first-served basis. Byebots will be used if necessary and I will take part in the tournament myself if I am running low on entries. *These bye bots will be previous entries to the tournament series. The champions from F&S 2 will automatically be entered unless nicsan2009 wants to replace or remove them. *Maximum 24 entries and the deadline will be 1st July whenever I have sufficient entries. I have recently taken over Jonzu's tournament but, for some reason, some robots crash my game whenever I import them. I have tried these robots on different versions of RA2 (robots are intended for DSL 2.1) and I can't get them to import properly. Could anyone test these robots out for me and check to see if you have the same problem? As I believe it may just be me, for some reason.
I find it weird how Revolution 3 won't work with me but Jonzu has used it before. I have asked Jonzu and Resetti himself if there are any custom parts or other things I need to get these to work but apparently I have everything I need already and I see no custom components in the folder Jonzu sent.

I don't usually make bots anymore, with exceptions being Homicidal Intentions and Spin Doctor II for their respective tournaments, but when I do build, I'm usually drunk. All the bots in this showcase may not be built by me drunk but the majority will. Also, considering I barely build and I'm not an alcoholic, this showcase probably won't be updated often. The reason this has a smartzone is because I did a rumble between this and the upcoming 3 other bots on YouTube for a laugh. Don't know where the name came from. It may be because of the robot's chassis shape is like a King of the Hill shape. This time, I have completely no clue where the name came from. This guy is my favourite of the bunch. I don't know what MIOOP stands for.

Considering I just finished a tournament, I don't want to rush straight into another but I do want to know what people on this forum most want in a tournament. This is a discussion thread for now but may be changed into a tournament thread depending on interest. I am planning on running an Annihilator type tournament where there will be matches of 4 with people going out one by one (you should know what an Annihilator is.) However, I want some input on what to make the tournament. In other words, the forum will make this tournament, I will just be hosting it. These are the things I want your input on: Let's build this from the ground up then, judging from votes for each detail. Rules: Game type - Stock Weight class - SHW Unlimited entrants 1 entry per person I'll AI if you can't Building rules: SHW is up to 1200.0kg In-game glitches are allowed, apart from hax mode. Out of game glitches are banned Cheabot2 is banned Walker/Crawlers/Shufflers aren't allowed. Multibots can't be used in a 4-way match You can update you bot as much as you want before signups end Match rules: 3 minute matches Arena will be The Octagon with hazards on One restart due to a havok, two havoks then the robot causing it will be disqualified Judging will be done by points scored Entrants: 1. I don't usually have trouble AIing but I don't seem to be able to AI a certain bot. It has a 'Spin' weapon and a 'Fire' weapon, to be more specific, it has two front spinning discs and a hammer. I can get the hammer working but not with the discs. Does anyone know what type of bindings I should use to get these working?

I was not quick to jump on the Xbox One and PS4 bandwagon, so I don't have this game but this seems like the one game EA have got right in a while (from the youtube vids I've seen.) I think it is a very good game with super realistic graphics but the combat system seems to have gone wrong where UFC Undisputed 2010 went wrong because body blows just can't be returned it seems. Other than that, a good combat system (again, from what I've seen so far.)
What are your guys thoughts on this game... or fighting sports games in general (for example, UFC Undisputed, WWE SVR, etc.)

I'm back again with my second tournament, No Holds Barred. I have ran a poll already to see if anyone wanted this and this was equally as popular as Father and Son 2, so I thought I would start with this was first. What is this tournament about? Up to UltraHeavyWeight, entrants have no restrictions, this includes all cheats and all of cheatbot2 (apart from hovercraft engine.) This is just a fun tournament and you shouldn't take it too seriously. Important notes: -Make sure your bot is creative as well as an ultimate fighting machine. -DSL 2.1 Unrealistic -The arena being used will be Containment Cube (to make sure all but one robot will be destroyed in every match!) -Don't go too OTT with the glitches (in other words, don't make your robot invincible, because that's no fun but making it sturdy but can be destroyed is fine.) -16 entrants (may change depending on the speed of things) -1v1 matches -Matches have no time limit Building 'rules' -Must show controlled movement in any way. -Walkers, shufflers, etc. allowed. They won't get a weight bonus as such but only half of their 'legs' will count towards their weight. -Multibots are not allowed. -All of cheatbot2 (apart from hovercraft engine) allowed. -Use of in-game and out-of-game glitches is fine. -No custom components. Side events Grudge/Exhibition matches (I'll allow 4 people to arrange a match with any competitor they want after the main tourney is over.) Viewer's choice rumble (You vote for who should be in a 4-way rumble after the main tourney is over.) Remember to have fun with this tournament, guys. I'm not entering myself because I can't build for anything. Just a heads up for the small amount of people that want to build for this, I have changed my mind about the deadline for this. Normally, I would keep signups open as long as need be as I can get the SBV and awards done fairly quick but I don't think I should drag this out any longer. I will give everyone a week (11am BST, Saturday to be exact.) If I get no entries by then, then the matches will be 3 1v1's with a wild card round in the prelims. I never quit on things and I will try to finish what I have started no matter what it is. I will see this through to the end, even if it means this will be a very short tournament. Don't worry though, for the people that wanted it and were hyped up for it, Father and Son 2 will be next.
