Thor's Hammer.  This was going to be the topic of my next Let's Build, but I found out too late that WIndows 8 doesn't let you record Desktop footage, and there isn't much to see from the in-game build.  And of course that puts a real damper on making vids about BFE.  Kickstarter to buy Resetti a license of Camtasia and a computer drawing tablet thingy?

I like this bot, because it was clearly built on a budget, and in tandem with the team's heavyweight bot.  Not bad for some loose parts converted into a robot, and it looks surprisingly cool for a paintjob that barely had time to dry before filming.
(Image removed from quote.)
This is where Resseti and I are different.
Ressetti can make simple and semi-complex replicas that look good, whilst I can only get super complex robots occasionally done well, and have serious issues with simple, colerful robots.
Then again, if I make simple looking robots complex...

DP.
Is ANYONE else still working on this?
I need help.
Fairly busy. What do you need help with? We're welcome to help any way we can.
We need some poeple to try and contact HereticBlue, or Wham, because this modpack WILL require custom components.
Also, I'll try and make a link to all the robots I have that need skinning, maybe you could help.
We also need more people making replicas for this mod.
I've updated Gamma Raptor from Strict BattleBots AI. Posting pics later.
Update: Here's the NEW Gamma Raptor!

Also, I found a replica of Bad Blood on Bot Exchange, and decided to modify it for this pack:

I don't remember who built the original replica though.
Next up, NEW CRUELTY!

I'd say YU812 would do better with custom parts.

@Tommy, just because no one posts for a day or so doesn't mean a project is dead. Be patient.
Sorry, I was just worried.
Guess I let my concerns get the best of me.
Also, I still need to know if you all would be ok if I just gave Lightning.S credit for using replicas from his AI pack, without having to contact him.

Bump?
I'm currently working on the BattleBots 2014 ModPack, so this is currently on hold.
(Not much recent feedback, anyway.)

That's the thing, neither should happen, everyone no matter what their orientation or whatever are equal. The fact that it's gotten to the stage where people have to be praised for being themselves is sad (this is referring to society in general, not just whatever happens here).
Jonzu is brave and all, I'm not discounting that as I'm sure he understands, but he's just himself. :)
It's a sad truth.
Why should society judge poeple by their sexuality? It's as pointless and destructive as racism.

BFE is becoming more common, I believe, and I think when used for unrealistic purposes it is easy to spot in a tournament, so personally I'd see no issue - I'm sure there's even a guide on here somewhere with the basics of BFE.
I've seen the basic tutorial, but it didn't help me AT ALL. :rage
I need a tutorial SPECIFICALLY on making irregular shapes in RA2.

What I was trying to say is I imagine there wouldn't be any backlash to Sonny providing this kind of tutorial, but honestly, with the original tutorial and some hard work/experimentation, you can get some cool cutoff wedges and wedges with no flat top.
For example, if you wanted a simple quadrilateral cutoff wedge like Robot the Bruce, you'd just slightly lower the height of 2 chassis points, and if you wanted a wedge with no flat top you just move the top points very close together.
Sonny of course will be miles better at explaining these things, my knowledge is astoundingly basic with BFE.
Now THAT'S THE KIND OF ADVICE/INFO I WAS LOOKING FOR! :thumbup
But the MAIN issue is which specific sets of numbers in the bot file chassis I modify to get these irregular shapes.
Aw hell, enough of my off topic nonesense, here's a bunch of near complete replicas I posted in the BattleBots 2014 modpack thread.

For the other six I have posted, just look at the thread itself. Under Modifications and Designs.

Any luck with my replicas?
I really want to see a video of them against other replicas.

Odin II is done, but I'm not very happy with it.
BTW, it's not the season 4 one (no guards and has 4 wheels, and the blade is tilted a bit).
I think it's the 5 version... IDK.
Sorry Badnik, was thinking of Wee Willy Wedgy for a second.
I could help you with that.
I also lost my Bad Attitude replica, I apperently scrapped it without exporting it.
I still need to know, could we just give Lightning S his due credit if we use modified versions of his robots?
I don't mean ask him, I just wonder if that's ok with you all.
P.S.
If some one could reskin the YU812 tribar supports into TriMangle's blade, that would help.
I also need some shufflebot components fo SOW and Whyachi.
And lastly, I'll be ATTEMPTING YU812.
Wish me luck.
Edit: Done!

If you can somehow get in contact with Lightning, then sure.
Maybe if we give him some credit for some of the replicas I'm planning to modify, it should be ok.
We should also use some of the DSL replicas. Modify those a little bit as well.

Is it ok if I modify some bots from the Strict Battlebots AI Pack?

Sonny, do you think you could do a let's build special on how to BFE? I tried the tutorial pictures and it didn't work (I wasn't saving the n++ file neither).
Yeah, what he said. :gawe:
I'd like some other vets to weigh in on the acceptability of this.  It's a real taboo, you'll see in the Tournaments section that 99.9% of them have "No BFE" as the very first rule.
It's not for competitive robots, or at least in my case it's not.
I just want to make more accurate replicas.

Gonna work on Mouser Mecha CatBot.
Got him done.
All the weapons work, although he's terrible at combat in this form.

Good luck AIing it.
