Let's get this show on the road!

Rules n stuff

Info
Stock Middleweight
16 entries, 1 entry per person
4 rounds, 2 rounds on a reskinned clawtop arena, the other 2 in a reskinned battlebox arena (More on that later)
Matches will be 3 minutes long
Matches will be judged on Points
I will not be entering since I suck at stock
I can AI, but I would prefer if you did it

Rules
Ai parts ARE allowed (So that means 140 cm extender, Blue Snapper, etc)
NO Cheatbot2 parts are allowed
NO Walkers/shufflers are allowed, each robot must have at least 2 wheels
Multibots are not allowed.
Hax mode, BFE, AAM, Thyrus glitch etc is NOT allowed
NO havok restarts
There will be a third place playoff option

Matches Setup
In the first round, there will be 4 matches of four bots, 2 go out each match leaving 8 to go through to round three. Then the same will happen again, taking out 4. Leaving four robots in round three, then in round 3, there will be 2 rounds of 1v1, then that will leave 2 robots in the grand final.

General Support / How do I minimize the game screen
« on: June 15, 2014, 04:10:48 AM »
Basically, I installed DSL 2.1.1 and it went from The Game Screen that covers only a part of my laptop's screen to the fullscreen game, and that means I can't take screenshots

Any Help?

Discussion / Could we add to Whams Pack?
« on: June 14, 2014, 07:53:01 AM »
I've felt that Whams 2013 ai pack has been lacking in quite a few ways, so I was thinking to myself; could we make replicas to add to the pack? And I know HereticBlue is adding countless awesome things to add to DSL 3 and whams pack but could we do more ourselves as a group?
Post ideas, replicas and discuss this concept

Off-Topic Discussion / Right, Another question :D
« on: June 08, 2014, 02:56:51 PM »
I have no idea where this belongs, so feel free to move it

I've been on this forum for 4 months now and I think I should start a tournament because:

A) I really fancy it
and B) I think it will be fun

But there is a problem which I need help with:

I need software to record with (And help with how to use it)
And better skinning software (so I can skin an arena)

Sorry to be pesky, but could anyone help?

Have you ever felt that a robot dissapointed you could have returned with a different design to go far? Ever had thoughts for that design? designed it yourself on drawings, RA2, models? Well post it here, I'm gonna start off with:

Roadblock/ Beast of Bodmin

Roadblock didn't improve at all for the 2nd wars and they could have at least made another weapon for it, so when it came for series 3 as Beast of Bodmin, they had seen the srimech used, so they could have made a better flipper and improved it throughout the other series, so I was disappointed with their machine.

General Support / Hax mode help please
« on: May 25, 2014, 10:37:33 AM »
Ok, I think this is the right area,
I've watched Sage's effe glitch tutorial and snapper loading tutorial and I get them but when I try to enter hax mode, it doesn't work, could somebody tell me why? I'll give the basic outline:

I put an RAD motor on a 60cm burst piston, I spin the rad to max, click the components tab, then quickly press the spin button and hit the wirings tab quickly after one another and nothing happens, why is this?

Real Robotics Discussion / The Lego Robotics Tutorial

What you require to make a quick, simple lego robot

-2x motors, these can be either Extra Large, Medium or Large motors, I use Extra large since they have the most torque, speed and are easier to use with these types of lego technic
- A Battery Box, this can be either The AA box, the AAA box or the rechargeable battery box, The rechargeable battery box is the lightest but the most expensive where as the AA battery box is the heaviest but least expensive. I use the AA battery box.
-Wheels that are capable of providing traction- there is no point having larger motors but smaller wheels.
-An IR remote control, to control your robot
-2x IR receivers- These are the recievers for you to control your robot
-Lego technic bricks, you will need quite a lot of these
-Lego connectors, you need quite a lot of these is well, this is used for joining the chassis together, get the ones that span both 2 studs wide and 1 stud wide
-Lego axels- These are used to connect your wheels and your bricks to your motors.

More updates coming soon, be sure to tell me if I have missed anything in the above.

Stock Showcases / The Natster's rarely updated stock showcase
« on: May 11, 2014, 03:09:44 PM »
Right, this is going to be less popular than my DSL showcase but who cares?
First Bot with a few things to mention
even though it is incredibly underweight the wedge, flipper and damage is amazing

As by the name's suggestions, this was a replacement for Sentinel
1 black, 2 pinks, HPZs, 2 snapper wedges and DDT flippers
thoughts?

Discussion / Component ideas?
« on: March 09, 2014, 10:22:06 AM »
I've just been thinking, what components would you guys like to see added to Ra2? An idea that I've had is that its like a JX burst motor but has two prongs on it, that would be good for pincers and double weapons on either side of a robot. That would be quite cool

edit: I also think a co2 powered burst motor would be nice if programmed into the game
