Thank you, deadline and stream will be at least two weeks from now. I'll narrow down the date when I figure out my schedules.

idk it's kind of pleasing to scroll through that really fast
Really makes you want to spam it, doesn't it?

Site News and Feedback / Re: Help me keep GTM site up

If we have people who can pay the fees and people to administrate, let them fill their respective roles. It looks like supporting the site can be done by one or more volunteers. In terms of running everything, that's a different discussion - ACAMS is only transferring the financial obligations. But we've definitely had lots of comments on appointing new administrators in the past, so if that's something to work on alongside deferring the hosting fee I think it's a good time. I'm hoping it can be a decision between ACAMS, Trov, and whomever pays the bills (after they've been chosen), supported by the community. Let's sort out the payments first.

Eh, why not.  If you're doing commentary again, then I'd love to join in on that again.
It'll be live, probably talking on the Discord, so you're certainly welcome to join in if you can.

- The weight class will be Heavyweight.
Never like to build heavyweights but it may be worth a try just for a few laughs and a lesson in building a good heavy weight. Also, any ideas on the arena that you [HelloFace] may use for the tournament like the standard tournament arena in DSL or something along the lines?
Most likely Containment Cube, I'll look around for other arenas and update it once I know for sure which arena I'll use.

DSL-S?
The part where I mentioned IRL was worded like an autistic caveman, but no, it's IRL.

I forgot how sh** I was in these tournaments. Should probably enter this one.
It didn't help that one of my retarded systems made it so your second bot's record didn't count because it was a "bye bot".

do i enter whirlytronic again

also is CF allowed or no
I don't think anything other than Whirlytronic 2017 is an acceptable entry, it's truly a timeless classic. Whirlytronic is to HFT as Behemoth is to Robot Wars.

Haven't been around for a while, but Component Freedom sounds dope so I'll allow it.

Added the current rankings.

What cheatbot stuff is allowed if any and how many entrants can there be?
Otherwise this looks legit.
No cheatbot stuff, unlimited entrants (one per person), and thank you.

can i enter triple K mafia again
You can, but I can't guarantee the judging will go well in your favour. Legend has it that he's a jew sympathiser.

watch out world, ruuuuuude boi tony and WHEEL O DOOM will make their operation toni tony tone return
I'd be as disappointed as my parents if it was anything else.

Id be down to join

Tournament Archives / [DSL IRL HW] HFT5: Live - Signups
« on: March 03, 2017, 09:58:25 PM »
I have a reputation for not uploading tournaments properly, so I'm not giving my lazy ass the option to procrastinate this time around. I'll be streaming all the fights in one go live when everything's prepped. Everything will automatically be exported to my youtube account, where I'll put timestamps in the description for when the fights start so those who miss things can check it out there. Sort of like HFT4, but actually planned. Easy peasy. My entry and the rankings will be posted shortly after the approval of this thread. Date of the stream will be decided once the amount of entries start slowing down.

The arena will be Containment Cube.

Brackets
Standard Double Elimination brackets. Higher ranked builders will get the bye spots if there are any.

Rules
- DSL 2.2
- One entry per person
- No flamethrowers
- I will be AIing, but I have the right to ask you do do it yourself
- BFE is allowed if it's for realism/aesthetic purposes.
- Nobody can be entered until a bot is received and accepted.
- The weight class will be Heavyweight.
- Strictly IRL. No exceptions, no weapon spam either.
- The only glitch allowed is the small chassis glitch.
- Arena hazards will be on.
- Bots must pass stability tests, they will be declined at my discretion if they cannot move and make contact freely.
- Walkers and Shufflers will gain a 400kg weight bonus, but at least 200kg must be used on the movement system.
- Matches are 3 minutes long.
- No custom components.
- First and second game-changing havok, restart; third havok, your bot is eliminated.
- No custom armour.
- No Trov Glitching, Hax Mode, or any other unrealistic glitches that enable an advantage.
- Multibots are allowed (both bots must be eliminated to constitute a knockout).
- No invincible direct-to-chassis armour.
- If a bot mauler dances 30 seconds it is eliminated.
- You can upgrade/change entries as many times as you want before I've AI'd and done splashes for it.
- Entries MUST be sent via PM.
- Component Freedom allowed.

Judging
I will judge on the following criteria, possibly with the help of stream viewers:

Non-weaponless flippers:
Damage /10
Aggression /5
Control /5
Condition /5

Weaponless flippers:
Aggression /10
Control /10
Condition /5

Scores aren't split, meaning it is possible for each bot to get any amount of points.
