buffed armor sounds good, we could end up with really cool matches between a big spinner and a tanky wedge sending said spinner flying across the arena from sheer ramming force, or see a clamp just manhandling a vert for most of the match

i don't have recent memories of AI glitches being something that had to be dealt with in a GTM comp but i think they should fall under the same ruling as physics glitches since in both cases a problem in the game is unfairly shifting the match torwards one bot

gotta say, that was probably the most entertained i've been watching a RA2 comp in a while, the big spinner hits are really cool to watch, althought i can understand people like TheRoboteer arguing to stay with unboosted motors for better balance, cause it does seem quite hard to tank the hits for long

only watched most of season one so far, really a fan of Bowie and AK-12 in particular, might ask this to you and all the GTMers who are/watched this, what's your favorite machine(s) ?

i'd absolutely join whatever your next tournament is if that's a possibility, it'd be fun, considering trying either a Valkyrie style undercutter (but stability will probably force me to can that idea very fast),or maybe a overhead a bit like AK-12, not sure yet, but your modded version will sure be cool to mess with

so it's essentially competitive IRL in how it works, you can tryhard all you like but you have the realism restrictions of real life, interesting

i can imagine a bunch of people enter some pretty crazy designs in sportsman lol, what's the most odd thing you've seen in this class ?

another issue with single tooth is that sometimes you end up with so much bite your bar almost completely stops dead and you have to get all the way back up to speed, which may be what that builder described as hitting too hard

and yeah like you mentioned, i did notice you seemed to focus more on the fighting and competition aspect than the art and showcase side of things which is more our focus, but it's interesting that game stability was one of the factors, i was wondering with that, are the boosted motors you use causing any instability problems (axles going mad, spinners going completely out of control and spazzing out, havok explosions) ?

i also think the sportsman class idea is really neat and something i'm suprised GTM has barely ever used (the closest being a UK live event style tournament that never actually happened), is it just spinners banned or are there additional restrictions like real life sportsman ?

that'd be great, a couple things i was wondering looking at the chinese meta evolution you described:

1. how are horizontal spinners doing in this meta ? are tombclones more common or are overheads the majority ?
2. did anyone tried the HUGE style of design yet over in china ? seems like it'd be a even more potent counter to the small, Bite Force like verts, althought i imagine the increase in bigger diameter verticals would be very troublesome for them
3. you mentioned series 3 winner was a swiss-army with a flipper setup, are there others non-spinners that still go far despite the very spinner-heavy environment ?

time to show off some of my robits

Aerogis:

big bar undercutter, takes some time to spin up but can deliver some hard hits

Envyus:

wedge vert, gets under most things

Storm Flood:

hi Deep 6, hits hard but likes to fall over and die

Roller Mobster:

generic 4WD wedged vert

Trailblazer:

IT'S A WEIGE!!!! rams things good tho

Starving Beast:

overhead spinner thing, dustpan setup would work better but those are banned in current RR2 comps so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

gameplay seems pretty nice and i like what you got for the botlab so far (especially those scaleable shapes)

it seems D.B 2's flail tends to go a bit crazy during fights sometimes

i have 2 questions:
-what is the Temp stat bar for ? is it something related to pneumatics ?
-is this like RA2 where you need the weapon components to do damage (e.g adding spikes at the end of a bar) or can i just spin a rescaled cube shape as a bar spinner and it will still hurt sh** ?

your kind of bots are the kind of DSL 2.1 stuff that i honestly kinda missed before this 2.1 resurgence, now all i need is for pwn to join the 2.1 necromancy and my life would be complete

unironically would prefer the combat arena with hazards off. it's the true boomer arena that was the standard and tbh is probably the most balanced
Any other thoughts on this? I wanted an arena with OOTA potential so that flippers would be viable. How about one of the BBEANS arenas?
bbeans is way too small for 2.1 imo

also id say low walls hurt the meta more than they help. flippers really aren't that great in 2.1 compared to 2.2 and low walls are just going to give even more of an advantage to things like popups. at the same time it's also going to put things like shells and wedgeless vs at bigger disadvantage.
Yeah but I'm terrible at building anything but flippers.

Improvise, Adapt, Overcome

this may be a terrible idea, but RW 2016 hasards off ? like it has OOTA spots but the walls aren't super low all around like DSL tournament arena or BBEANS ?
