well.... that's pretty horrible to hear, but listen dear sir, this stuff, despite what you think, wasn't your fault okay ? don't destroy yourself feeling guilty over something that you're not responsible for, stay strong and don't break, keep going forward and light will shine again thought the darkness you're currently travelling into, and remember, we're all here for you if moral support is required, so to quote Undertale: stay determined

Silms only stock HW online, oh boy... this will be interesting to see at the very least

it may be possible at heavyweight level but hydrogen + oxygen = FIRE AND EXPLOSIONS (just ask the Hindenburg) so it's a pretty risky power source cause the second your cells are pierced your whole bot goes up in flames

just thought of something that could be interesting with online: Mars Base Arena mini-comp anyone ?

i think starting the online comp scene with smaller tournaments so we can figure out the organisation requirements for these before moving on to bigger scaled tournaments would be a safer alternative

that could be a cool thing, also i can still use my GMod bots control scheme (IJKL for drive, O, P and M for weapon(s)) so the keys problem shouldn't be too big of a deal

Online in RA2 that isn't sh** you say ? i suppose sign me up, at least now i can actually start using servos and linear actuators for some systems now that it's not absolutely required to have a dumbass AI being in the capacity to drive the damn thing

correct me if i happen to be wrong, but the flipper having it's hinge set somewhat high up the wedge could reduce it's flipping ability than if you set the hinge further down the wedge, again, this is just a theory but if you have spare weight i suggest you try screwing around with that and see if it has any effects

i suggest you ban saws because they're honestly completely ****ing broken and are way too damaging and easily spammable ad nauseaum

IRL I assume :heck:

Besiege does have quite a reliable physics engine - it's rather difficult to get 40 spikes all going through each other, so yeah... IRL.  :gawe:

Braces are basically collisionless extenders so actually stock like spinners may be theorically possible, but besiege's frail engine will make them crumble in seconds anyway

i feel like that the uber-fragility of the game's engine is part of the challenge here tbh, also, braces say hello anyway

as for saws, at max speed they can cause a LOT of damage very quickly

and in fairness the grabber rule is more so clamps aren't a huge pain in the ass to make

yes it has, in fact, me and some people in the OOTA discord have been experimenting with robot combat in it yesterday, we have came up thus far with a simple list of rules which seem to work decently enough:

-No explosives, unthetered projectiles or any fire based weapons.
-5 categories for block max limits
25 : FW
50 : LW
75 : MW
100 : HW
200 : SHW
-Robot must fit in the bounding box
-weapon spam bots will be banned
-bots cannot be fully assembled with ballasts or pistons
-grabbers are legal but you can only grab a robot for 10 seconds
-saws are banned

for now it seems to function decently enough, also with the way the engine makes every part fairly fragile it's very difficult to make an effective spinner that doesn't explode Apex style after a couple impacts, which can allow for pretty interesting designs.

hint hint, that's a typo, the real weight is 597 kg

157
jesus **** someone's not screwing around, if you manage to follow that i'm pretty sure you'd be managing to do some pretty good sh**, also IRL Unlimited Limits => YES

158
it's because people automatically orient newbies torwards IRL that all the other metas are on their death beds, anyway, for a newbie, that's a pretty good bot, can't really add any advice that hasn't been said already, keep it up
