Glad you like them

MassimoV: my bot is a bit too spherical, so i'm not sure what side you mean . There are many tornado spikes attached to the shield and three DSL Hammers 2 attached in between. I posted the info below the images

Oh... That rule, i already hate it before knowing it, lol.
Thanks for the amps, info though, it will come handy
Yeah i can't put more spikes on it, on one side because of that rule and the other because the bot is already too big.

The changes have been made. Replaced all batteries and put 4 ant ones, just in case. More 13 kg... less 13kg... Doesn't do much difference for a 3 ton bot

The amps each motor requires do not apply? And whats the rule of 7?

Unfortunately a major idea i had yesterday could not come true because i had to have account of the weight of each enemy robot,
which makes the task impossible.

However, today I've built the real true beast, so far my favorite:

Too lazy to open the structure

>Unbeatable. So far no robot i fought against could beat this monstrosity.
>Each "shield" is powered by the most powerful motor in game
>The Chassis are impossible to reach
>At the speed the "shield" turns, every enemy weapon is immediately repelled.
>Since the main chassis is hundreds of times lighter than the shield, the chassis itself spins rapidly powering it's 3 heavy hammers

Each side of the shield is made of 3 discs stacked on each other, 1st a 250 disc followed by a 150 and then a 100 disc.
Although able to move enough to not be considered as immobile, it cannot be controlled, in other words, you can't make it go in straight line or move in controlled manner, you need the opponent to go for you.

Thats it? That easy?  Wow, thanks a lot, m8

Sorry if it's already been posted (the search option had a harsh day again) but i want to know why is this happening from every angle or side. Each time i want to bend 2 faces of a bot from one side i get them bended inwards and from the other side outwards. It makes the structure uneven. I don't even care if i want it to bend inwards or outwards i just want it symmetrical  :frown:

I'm running RA2 v1.3 downloaded version with DSL-TC 2.0 followed by ACAMS textures mod. No more changes were made

Yeah i could mount them close to engine but i didn't because.... uuhhh... I have no idea why i didn't do that... :ermm:
Correct width for every bot it's impossible. There are so many variations. If your bot is specialized for skinny bots it won't open wide enough for large ones. If it specializes in big ones, it won't be able to hold on to skinny/small ones.

If you take a look a JoeBlo's entry into the Wheely Tag tournament, the arms open BEFORE the opponent reaches them, then close ONTO the opponent for sustained and continuous damage, rather than just quick jabs that give the opponent a chance to escape. You might want to try that strategy, I reckon you could make it work pretty well.

That's the whole point. Both my creations here so far, do exactly what you just said. They clinch on to the opponent doing constant damage. I use all those spikes on the second bot just to hold the other bot while my hammer and pick axes strike it until it turns into a metal pizza
Btw, you're right about being narrow. I might remove some spikes or change to another smaller type.

Nice idea. Take a look at some of my trappers. I hit a dead end with them. Maybe you could come up with something better.

I linked to a couple of them for you.
1, 2, 3

I loved your 3rd design with the counter weights, i never thought on that...
You just gave me an awsome idea! Hopefully it might work.
Here's a tip for it: instead of bringing the weapon to the enemy, bring the enemy to the weapon
I hope i succeed otherwise it will be embarrassing, lol

Thanks all for nice comments

second bot, same idea:

The only downside i found in this bot is its somewhat poor manouverability. Apart from that it's fast and extremely powerful. It's superior traction with E-Tek drive motors ( Thank you all for the advice ) makes it ideal to corner a bot and eliminate it with ease. If only it had 800kg or less... lol.

We said Etek drive motors. All gearboxes are unfitted for drive.

Just noticed that E-Tek motors section have 4 choices. I don't know how i missed that. Thanks, will change.

Since i got the game, i had many ideas for robot hugging devices. This kind of bot won't be the last

Ok, so i added armor skirts around the chassis, replaced the back plates and put iron spikes, replaced the back saw with a small ram plate, reduced the number of batteries and replaced the wheels.
I didn't change the wheel motors though. I did some tests. I used what you asked for, E-Tek motors and overkill wheels. The bot was much faster as you guys said but it only manouvered better stationary. It took a while to turn it while moving forward. I then replaced the overkills for the Cobras with E-Tek, Waaaayyyy worse: slower, horrible manouverability. So then i put the tornado gear back with the overkills and got definitely better in every ways. Maybe its how i set the controls?

Oh i almost forgot, the main change which "i think it's noticeable"  are my vertical saws powered by 4x132 Perm motors, also piston controlled to open and close.

Im guess is youre going to criticize my excessive use of ram plates, i think it looks nice on it quite frankly  :approve:

Holy crap! 6 posts in 9 minutes, this forum is fast!

Thanks all for so many advices! Batteries, wheels, motors, saws, plates! That's a load of advice coming just from one bot!

NFX, I use the ram plates just to cover the large extenders. It's like covering a skeleton so it won't look fragile. The front panels are inwards in order to protect the motors directly behind it.

Meanwhile I've been tweaking this bot a bit more. Now it truly looks a beast! I'll apply your advices to it and post some pics of Armageddon2

Wweeeeee, my showcase! lol

Ok so i decided to start big, really big! So big that it's actually bigger than "really big"
Here we go

-By using the largest Servo pistons available, the entire outside structure of the bot can open allowing larger bots to enter in the deadly hug as shown in pics 1 to 2.

-It has a Total of 18 saws, 12 powered by 6 Perm 80 and 4 saws powered by 4 Piglet motors including one saw protecting the back. All the left saws spin counterclockwise and all right ones spin clockwise, forcing any victim into the death zone.

-It's wheels are powered by 6 tornado Gearboxes giving it a respectful speed and turning ability even for its size and weight.

>It's weaknesses are its large size which make it hard to maneuver in a lot of arenas
>It is unable to recover from a flip
>It's 6 perm 80 motors are badly protected and can easily come off
