How would you like to help with Realistic AI, an AI pack specifically for realistic bots.

Yes, I know I sounded like a person of TV :(

This would be great, apart from me having only the most basic of knowledge of AI'ing. I can make a smartzone and make it move on its own, thats it. :/

Introducing Dreadhog, armed with 8 spike strips and designed to slip under robots and grind away at the soft underbelly.
5mm Ti, NPC fasts and Hypno wheels.

And for something a little different, a robot designed as a 'what if', i.e what if the Plunderbird Team had continued to churn out robots and cheesy robot songs. Armed with 4 viscious claws and a "Plunder-flinger", this robot is capable of sending any enemy robot soaring. [/J. Pearce]

Bah, knew I had little chance, but there wasn't much else I could do to make the Flipper stronger. Was my first submitted bot too, but well done to 027-LB/DbM :)
You could have used a judge burst motor instead of a bsg, but you'll probably get more respect for not doing that.

Would this be a good time to admit I have no idea where all these cheaty things are? ^^;

Hey Thyrus, can you list the bots you've gotten so far for your thing?

Also, use Voltage from the bot exchange for the aforementioned thing. :D

I second this, it's very cool to ask but i've no idea where to find these threads to try and submit bots for them.

It's already legal as is. The hypno tooth is a legal component.

Ah, i was confused by the rule on AI components

On a bit of a roll, and looking towards the RA2 Extreme Warriors tourney signups, here's Oblark:

The axe-head (HypnoDisc tooth) will be replaced by a normal beater bar so it's legal.

Or use Firebeetle's Attachment point component.

oh yeah I forgot about that, very useful piece

That is unbelievably good. I have to give you +1 rep, just for that replica. What kind of size is it, compared to other bots?

Extinguisher on the back, thanks for the suggestion, and i've used the Chaos 2 'ballast' as it's a small enough cylinder, and has the pneumatic gubbins in the right place for it to look good. As for height... I cant give an exact height, but it's taller than DSL Sir K, and just shorter than Nightmare (including disc)

Where do I recognize the name of the 2nd one from though? XD

If it was available, it'd be clad in Iron  ;)

Could do with skinning some components, and it goes COMPLETELY to pot round the back XD

You`re still welcomme to enter some of your bots in the "thing" I planed to do (need to find a name for it! I try not to say tournament)

A smaller version of Dragon Slayer with a dual-axe "sharkfin" weapon and stabilizing skirts to prevent the axe throwing the whole robot over. 3mm Ti

Dual BSG flipper and nippy drive. 3mm Ti and NPC fasts.

Spikes added, thank you for the suggestions :D To do so I changed the skirts to Alu and used the first DSL teeth Still ended up at 797.9kg. However I think i've noticed a flaw with the design or the placement of the motors, because forwards it will turn left before spinning, however it'll reverse in a straight line.

What are the BSGs for?

The two poles at the top of the robot, either side of the axe. these flip out the sides and help self-right the robot.

Looks again amazin DSC.

Thank you, I do like to give my bots a theme. ;)

Me likes everything about it. It has awesome skin, and reminds me of Dominator 2 and for some reason Iron Awe 5.

That would be a pretty good approximation of what style of bot I was going for. Love the more recent Iron awe bots for the large area they have to flip with, and of course a dirty great axe is never a bad idea.

5mm ti, very effective srimech, and side graphics taken from another design i've done in the past for a custom f1 car livery.

Hammers go through perms.

I bet DSC feels a bit
                         <------

Yes, those Perms are such a giant pain in the ass right now, there's nowhere on my chassis where I can get a decent position for both weapons, so to stop clipping i've had to neuter them. :rage

Taking a look at that bot I think you could make it invertable with NPC Fasts by placing the motors as far back on the wedge like in the picture below

(Image removed from quote.)
That does look interesting, but I don't think I have the width to include that and keep it mostly contained within the body. I might try that solution out, considering making a SHW version. :approve:

I love the design. What are the rotating titaniumextenders supposed to do.
They were originally extenders for saws I used as additional weapons. I had linked them to the controller as drive motors, and they acted as wheels to steer it if it was inverted. but it was a feeble setup, so those, and the metal extenders have gone.

Also, updated internals, with srimech on display:

Changelist:

- Removed the two additional Slimbody motors (very redundant in the end)
- Rejigged the front spikes and their extenders (thanks Somebody)
- Repositioned the rear motors/wheels (although I see where Natef was coming from. but they help a lot with stability and maneuverability so they were kept)
- Armour has been upgraded from 10mm plastic to 5mm steel. highest I could add without using 10mm Al.
- Batteries. 2 more ants added.
- SRIMECH! BSG burst in the rear between the rear wheels and the weapon, robot is designed to roll onto its back when flipped, and can self right in either direction. Should stop it having to move upside down using the weapon now
