Hey guys. Decided to record a couple of clean tracks with some reverb, chorus and delay for fun. Here's the result, download-able on this post. Have a listen.
Not exactly serious and hilariously out of time but it sounds fairly nice IMO.

http://shelleytherepublican.com/Satirical site presenting a stereotypical republican (or not...) and a bunch of articles built to troll those without an irony sensor. Comments are absolutely hilarious, 'cuz the guy actually is a liberal living in Germany, and loads of people actually take it seriously.

Found a few hilarious videos, some of which are pretty cool, most of which feature some robots playing some good old rock. The last one well and truly proves that Lars' days in Metallica are numbered.

Hey guys. Basically I've recently got Samplitude, and I'm looking for some people to do parts in a little 3 minute metal song. I've already confirmed Sage as a partaker, so if there are any guitarists or bassists who are interested in recording a part contact me via PM (alternatively I may hound you via PM myself ). However, please do it within the next 25 days, otherwise my trial license will be gone, thus postponing this until I get the standard bought version. BTW, if you're wondering what this software I'm using is, it's the same as the track mixer used by Andy Sneap on both of Exodus's Atrocity albums, which sounded very nice in terms of tone; The end result will be posted as an MP4 file in this thread, so you can add it o your iPods or something. (I can play guitar, but my current equipment isn't great; so it won't be an absolute disaster if I get no guitar players, but it would be greatly preferred. I definitely need a decent bassist, though, else this will end up sounding like something out of ...And Justice For All).

Hey, thought I might start a topic for anyone looking for some suggestions for guitar parts for certain genres, as well as pedal and amp advice. I'm pretty knowledgeable in terms of amps and guitar parts, and I know a bit about pedals, so fire away. If anyone has a disagreement feel free to discuss.

Though we might as well have this here just so our forum metal fans (me, Pwn, Enigma, Scorp, Xan, NFX and others) could display our favorites+discuss them. It's alright to disagree with peoples choices, but don't get offensive about them. So, you can put up a list of the all time best metal albums, or just for particular sub-genres. Feel free to include a clip from an album. Album on the left, Band on the right. All Time Best: 1. Focus-Cynic 2. Painkiller-Judas Priest 3. Mind Wars-Holy Terror 4. Rust In Peace-Megadeth 5. Gutter Ballet-Savatage 6. Powerslave-Iron Maiden 7. Stained Class-Judas Priest 8. Individual Thought Patterns-Death 9. Frizzle Fry-Primus 10. Among The Living-Anthrax

Studio Ghibli is pretty much the only anime producer that doesn't drive me to extreme boredom. With several popular films like Spirited away and Howl's Moving Castle they're pretty much the main anime film producer of today, even though most of their films are older than I am!
So, here's my list of my favourite Ghibli films:
1. Princess Mononoke - Better plot than the others, with a great deal more action and easily the best monsters in Ghibli's history. Generally a very cool film with a decent script and it is pretty emotional. Occasionally cheesy lines but some really great ones too; "Tastes like super-donkey piss." Made by who I consider easily the best Ghibli animator, Hayao Miyazaki, who generally produces the more tight and action packed films.
2. Laputa-Castles In The Sky - another Miyazaki film, this one has more or less the same plus sides; good plot, great villains, very aesthetically pleasing, and some really great Steampunk machines. Only problem is that the dubbing makes a boy of 15 sound like a 32 year old pedophile.
3. Howl's Moving Castle - Based off a good book by Diana Wyn Jones (though barely faithful to it), this Miyazaki film has more of those awesome Steampunk machines, easily the best script ("What a pretty fire!") and some of the better plot points. It lacks some of the tightness of the previous two, though, and the plot doesn't really seem all that well played out.
4. Nausica Of The Valley Of The Wind - Yes, another Miyazaki. Featuring a rather easy to grasp plot and some of the best creatures of the series, it gets a nice spot here at fourth. Looks very pretty too.
5. Spirited Away - Generic option and the best known Ghibli film, it does however feature a very strong plot and characters, but less of the sinister feel of Mononoke and worse characters than Laputa. Slightly more of a feelgood film, but it doesn't appeal to much to me anymore. Still a good watch, though.
6. Grave Of The Fireflies - Depressing but a very good film otherwise. Not really my thing though.
7. My Neighbour Totoro - Very much a feelgood film, it has makes the subject of a dead parent seem almost joyful. Tonnes of charm, but also tonnes of problems, with some poor lines and some slightly childish themes that get in the way.
8. Porco Rosso - Featuring the almightly pig pilot, this makes tonnes of logical sense, plot-wise, and has some very memorable characters. However, it isn't all that inspiring, and the majority of the films strengths are occasionally lacking.
9. Kikki's Delivery Service - See the above but with witches instead of pigs.
10. Ponyo - Oooooo, this had potential. Great characters but the plot was seriously tedious.
Feel free to comment or post your own lists.

I've been thinking that eventually I'll need a new guitar since I run on a partly broken Strat. I've had a lot of ideas, like a Jackson King V (which is a pretty good deal usually too, 349.00 in some cases) or an ESP. So, what would you recommend?

I've finally found a decent image converter so I can start now! Techratica Basically a test of how awesome a basic unoriginal pop-up could be. It can 2 hit KO all the Starcore V3 middleweights and has some armor up front.
