I finally installed RA2 Stock from my game disc to a 16GB jump drive. Along with the hard copy of Stock, I keep a burned disc with a clean copy of DSL 2.1 in a .rar... So I extracted the DSL files to the desired folder on the same 16GB jump drive. I added Noodle's chassis grid mod in the correct place, created my seperate shortcuts for Stock and DSL, and thought I was set.
I opened DSL and tried to create a team, but it tells me "HURR THARS NO DISK IN DA DRIEV!". I click cancel, as I always do in such a situation and the dialogue goes away. The problem is that it does this repeatedly every few seconds, and then eventually it crashes.
DSL 2.1 has the no-CD patch built-in, doesn't it?
Running Vista with Service Pack 2 on a laptop with 4GB of RAM, which should be overkill.
What do?

I have acquired quite a bit of knowledge of computer hardware and components due to my tendency of piecing my computers together with parts that I find in secondhand shops and the trash.
Since I've been bored, I am going to start this for members in need of advice or assistance with such.

Damage messages:
On - all normal damage indicators
Off - no immobility warnings; no player status bars; no scoring
indicators
You can turn damage indicators and immobility warnings off? Maybe it just means all of the screen overlays during battle... Hell if I know.

I use GTM with the mobile web application on my phone. I see the site pretty much the same as I would using my desktop PC, mostly...
Except where the GTM logo would normally be, up in the top left corner of the page, there is a button that reads "oyun oyna game" and it takes you to a page that is in some other language when you hit it.
What the Hell is this? I would assume it's some kind of advertisement, but it never changes.

Retro/Classic Gaming - Anything video game related that was released during the PlayStation/Nintendo 64 era or before. The only newer generation system accepted into this category would be the Sega Dreamcast.
This is how the classic gaming community defines it's self.

For the love of God, fix the damn server!
We are constantly encountering 500 Internal Server Errors, 404'd images and pages, "The server is currently under high stress" messages anytime you click the new replies button, try to look at a members posts, or attempt to perform a search on the forum. Apparently, the warning page is 404'd too.
This has been going on for months and I know that you are a busy man, but what good is having Serge or goose when they apparently don't come around when they are needed?
Please, ACAMS... Fix this sh**!

Post your skins you have made for NR2003 cars here. If you don't have NR2003 I can take them and put them into the game and take a screenshot so you can see what your car actually looks like in game. The PSD skin templates for each make of car can be found in this RAR... https://gametechmods.com/uploads/files/NR2003SkinTemplates2012.rarHere is the only skin I have at the moment. It will be used in Badnik's GTM Cup.   I plan to make more fairly soon.

Also, I will be using NR2003 this year. I have tried the Bullring Cup 2011 patch, but the realism of the damage doesn't satisfy me, so we will be using the original NR2003 templates.

So, I bought a laptop from a friend for $60. It runs XP, has a gig of ram, 30gb hard drive. I figured it would be worth it to have a laptop just to browse with or play RA2 when I'm not home.
I was clearing of all the old files and programs left on it by the previous owner, and as I was clearing the empty folders out of drive C:, I remember that I deleted a file of an unknown type called "NTLDR".
Well, I guess NTLDR was of some importance... Now, when I start the laptop it says "NTLDR is Missing Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart."
Can I fix this somehow or have I bricked this laptop?

The first thing I would like to address, since the culprit is banned anyway at the moment, is the use of what I find to be racism. I find the phrase "Typical American..." to be offensive. Once was fine. The second time, slightly annoying, but when it is used anytime that someone who just happens to be American posts an opinion that a certain Finn doesn't agree with, I find it downright ignorant. The second thing I would like to point out is this...  I know he is just a noob/troll and we are just trying to ignore his stupidity, but I don't like how he is now masquerading as one of our most respect members. Another thing wrong with this picture is that red "FR" logo... This is supposed to be reserved for our Fear Raters, correct? Yet, the forum's biggest noob/troll is using it. I hope that these issues will be addressed...

I am thinking of hosting another NASCAR race here on GTM.
It will NOT be the GTM Shootout, as I am hoping to have it in January yearly anyway.
I was thinking of having a type of "team race". The idea would be to have participants set up ratings for themselves in each of the categories it asks for in the game (Such as aggression, reliability, etc.). You would also be submit a skin, like in the GTM Shootout.
Here's the kicker... I will put in the real NASCAR driver's (Driver present in 2002, bear with me as it is an old game, but the best NASCAR sim besides NR2003 or iRacing). I will have the same number of real NASCAR drivers as participants, meaning I can only have 21 GTM members sign up.
At the end of the race I will figure up the average finishing position for the GTMers and the NASCAR drivers, and whoever has the highest average finishing position will win.
This is still somewhat for bragging rights as well though.
Would anyone be interested entering this?
