"Yeah the Mauler Dance is pretty crazy..."
Apex: "Hold My Beer" On another note, I only just noticed Dead Metal has Yellow lights and Yellow illuminated eyes.. nice touch, is that new for this series or have I just been weirdly un-observant?

Found this interesting.. http://kobchina.com/robot/33I know Whyachi were selling some SoW bits a while back.. Is this where they ended up? or a full-blown clone?

Another fun episode, Crackers n Smash oota was worth the price of admission, I wouldnt have given Big Nipper a hope after the first fight but they came back strong.
Not a fan of the entanglement rules though, only a matter of time before it really spoils something. Stopping a weapon is one thing but it started getting under the wheels of Aftershock and thats just a boring way to KO..

Oh Robot Wars how ive missed you.. The reboot is finally hitting its stride, the new format is sooo much better then all the re-run fights. Behemoth finally did it!! I thought they were done for when Apollo won the wedge war at the start but some brilliant recovery work by Ant every time they took a tumble to stop any combo flips from Apollo

Joe is pretty much dead.
Savage. First Blood is no secret game and never has been, the search function on this forum will yield at least a few working download links. First Blood was an Alpha / Proposal for the Botlab layout, it was a means of dividing robot classes so they could be individually balanced, nerfed, etc but the feedback at the time was generally negative and people proceeded to just mix the tabs anyway so the concept was scrapped (also its how we discovered the power tab was unbreakable) Now its just a fun little patch if you ever get bored of watching grass grow. nah joe's still around, if you PM him you might get something back
Like a smaller, less reliable Starcore signal..

Downloaded it today hoping to give it a go but just opens and automatically closes. I'm presuming this is because I'm running Sierra rather than Yosemite? If so, any plans to get it to run on Sierra?
Hmm Ill have to look into it, It should support up to El Capitan at present, I am yet to update any of my Macs to Sierra so I dont have any test subjects at present to work on it Does it do it at every launch attempt? It may search for some Wine plugin updates on your first ever launch (sometimes the app name above the icon in the dock says "Wine" as opposed to "Robot Arena 2" when its doing its setup related things) Edit: Also just to double check, needs to be the admin account with full permissions too Edit 2: Possibly have the app on the harddrive too, not on external usb's etc oh man i was asking for this years ago thank you you beautiful beast you
Very welcome :)

Fun grand final, I knew it was going to look like a metal blood bath, the true era of spinners is upon Robot Wars. As I said before Carbide have that thing so well balanced between destruction and stability, doesnt eat itself up as much as some other spinner robots. as for the format, I dont mind it but Id rather single elimination and the return of the pinball tournament myself

Carbide have that robot so well balanced between damage, stability and reliability.. hardly ever flitches when it hits something..

I havent a clue when it comes to xbox, never owned one in my life lol
PS4 has a trackpad on its controllers and support for a usb mouse. but in that same breath you can also buy a wireless adaptor from sony to use a ps4 controller on your PC / Mac.. which is a much simpler task than coding a new port lol

RA2 For Mac
Uses wine, not a mac port
Depends how much you want to split hairs here, it has Wine blended into to run as a stand alone application, meaning the end user doesnt actually have to install or download wine itself.. I just used Wines coding instead of doing it myself But its sure no Xbox port..

That makes more sense ^
Bit rough to repossess points from Pulsar but likewise it wasnt a fair decision against Ironside to loose out on points.

Poor Supernova, so, so much potential but it never quite comes together. I love it when spinners are so quick the TV camera's pick up the whine quite loudly.
A lot off fun early on but a lot left limping at the end.. is the 2 hour window too short? or do teams just not prepare enough for total rebuild situations?
Series is humming along nicely, cant wait for the next episode :)

Well I just binge watched the first 3 episodes to catch up. The presentation and editing is 100% better this series than the last one.. so well done to the hosts and production as a whole. The arena needs some work though.. panels falling off walls, robots getting stuck under the flipper and the pit lid cannot handle the weight of the robots on top of it.. it gets a little frustrating as a viewer, hopefully they are kinks that can be worked out. I really feel for the Behemoth team 19 years since that robot showed up in Series 2, They really deserve a big win. Big shot out to them for supporting robot combat for all these years, I can understand the set walk off.. all these guys are not media trained politicians, they are human, you could see he was visibly upset and didnt want the probing questions.
I wish the judges were consistent though.. PP3D was eliminated for only going in circles (while the opponent wasnt moving at all) which is fine if those are the rules.. yet then Concussion got through on a decision while also only going circles. Quote of the Series so far: "Jason is a builder who estimates a bludgeoning victory.. yeah.. we all know about builders estimates Jason" -JP

According to a recent episode of Inside the Bot, Razer is officially done. The team are potentially interested in donating it to the Science Museum.
A bit sad but understandable.. on the plus side at least as a museum exhibit I might be able to see it in person for once in my life.. itll probably be years before I ever make it to the UK.. I do hope they continue with Warhead or other combat robots.. they are too much fun not to have around. Yeah we didn't get in. Just thought it'd be worth saying.
Bummer.. any particular reasoning given? I mean I know they cant take everyone but do they give feedback at all?

but you cannot actually edit the bot itself.
Too late added custom lazer cannons But in all seriousness just a tweak to one of the smartzone placements and an extra bit in the binding line should make it just a little more competent for the remainder of the tournament

I only used a sample of the coding for this tournament because of time.. but ill put it up in my showcase soon explaining all the features.. there is quite a lot of potential

I feel like Joe didn't test his AI with the new version of his robot...
I dont know what was going on with the self right? It is meant to use the weapon to do that I dont know if that was the wrong bot file used (I did send a couple with different self right controls) or if it was because R1885 was still in the tracking zone meaning it wanted to evade instead of self right... cant say I ever had that issue in testing though If its not too late I might make a few quick changes? I ran out of time to code any sort of strategy to not attempt the evade moves if its under another robot which ultimately cost it in both matches.. but hey its an improvement over RY3NO and not bad for a robot thats a few years old.. Its been a quest to basically make a robot thats smarter and more adaptive then Seism 13.. never thought it would be easy though :P
