Well I think we are due for anther trip down memory lane..
Clash Cubes 3 Grand Final...
Clash Cubes 3 was actually a points league so by the time we hit the grand final Urjak already had an unobtainable lead leaving us this unique Newly Crowned Champion vs Creator (Myself) match up with bragging rights on the line.

I hear Sir Killalot likes to provide people with robot combat entertainment, Joe.
Okay so I really don't want to go on about this right now too much but - this is my account. I plan to get them all up in a couple of hours after release and have been succeeding so far but starting from Episode 3 BBC have been uploading some really shoddy streams that are considerably slowing down the process. Ah well, here's hoping they don't throw too many more spanners in the works for the next two weeks
Anyway, on another topic, I find Eruption really fascinating. To me, Eruption is evidence of what the last ten years of having no considerable spinners on the scene have done to robot building.
I love Eruption, they were my favourites for the episode, but in their fight against PP3D it was clear their fundamental robot design was just not optimised for the spinner matchup in any way at all. The awkward angles all over the sides of their robot means spinners will always bounce straight off rather than slide onto the wedge, which can deal a lot of damage over time to Eruption - it's is a robot solely designed and optimised to fight other wedges, and the fact that the live shows have heavily resticted spinners for safety reasons meant it spent the last few years fighting just wedges. Whenever I've seen Eruption on the scene in the last few years it's excited me a ton. In that wedge vs wedge matchup it can be incredible. But it's a robot clearly made out of the roboteering scene around it at the time. No insult to the team, they've made a great robot.
If we get a few more years of Robot Wars, the robot metagame, I believe, is due to adjust considerably.
Keep up the great work Its very helpful to people :) You raise a really good point about Eruption, like Battlebots has this year.. if robot wars has a second season id expect the building styles to change dramatically to catch onto what worked in season 1

The ease of interviews is probably the most obvious reasoning come to think of it lol When Ed called for the pit to be opened that was very obvious for PP3D to get the hell off it if they could (and they nearly did).. it would be calls like that teams would be wanting private

Robot Wars is officially back! its finally hitting its stride in both production and battles.. even JP's cheesy wheel jokes are back! Didn't we have an OOTA before?
'Tildy was the only robot to score an OOTA thus far so Congrats to Eruption being the first competitor to do so. Speaking off.. the ideas behind eruptions accessories seems cool but the claw seemed to hamper the performance.. it by far looked its most dominant in the last match without all the extra bits.
Storm 2 I expected to do well.. so far this year its been very rewarding to robots that can push the opposition around.. miss the ballistic "full body hammer" offence though
Apollo got super lucky in the rumble.. was technically the first rendered immobile On another note.. why in the head to heads do they put the teams in the same pod? is their a reason? I mainly ask because it hampers strategy calls between team members..

Its not a bad idea just so long as it doesnt end up nerfing or ruining great classic robots too badly as that might be the key to "officialism".
Some food for thought..
That said perhaps addressing the 140cm extender is worth it, weight wise and finishing the model. (I know its a little hypocritical of me but hey times change)
Weapons normals is a key point to assess too (for or against).. as that is what currently culls a lot of parts of the "use list"

Was the CC4 arena ever released?
I dont think so.. It was slated to come out with CCAI 2 but it never came to light.. I plan to bundle up a few bits and pieces ive made soon and come up with some sort of release.

Okay a few little updates.. • All robots are AI'd ready to go • Video Template(s) are also ready • Slight venue change (I know your not technically meant to but this tournament is already blown past the timeframe rule so..) Basically the combat zone has a too large floor space and these SnS robots are finding it hard to KO each other.. so to try and add some excitement to the matches ive reverted back to the Clash Cubes Arena (from CCIV) with a quick little makeover At least now the robots are in close proximity and OOTA KO's are achievable

This was only single robot entry.. so 60 different people entered.. 67 people entered BBEANS.. as far as I know that was the most but im happy to be corrected :)
It was just really to explain why clash cubes was an important tournament of its time to any new members who see this topic and wonder what these old dinosaur videos are about :P

I can totally understand, back when I started backlash I got so many pm's asking for bits and pieces for their own projects when all I wanted was for people to enjoy the complete thing. why this needed to be official.
Something I've wondered this whole time!
When it comes to licensed properties its probably better to be safe than sorry.. cant blame the team for protecting their butts

Minus the fact that you can change the component location in the .bot file I thought this was all already known?
Doesnt hurt to have more tutorials :) not all players know the ins and outs of the game 100% Speaking of which, Ive moved this topic into tutorials as its a little more fitting Nice work Impossible343
