First stock build in... years. This puppy was built in a couple hours because I'm a dick and made G.K. wait til the last second for my robot, which I still hadn't started building yet. The surprise star of BTTB 5, Crush?. 3rd place and Favorite Bot, who'd have guessed it. C R U S H B O Y S DSA, 2 unstacked blacks, the blue snappers exist only to hold the RADs, while the green snappers are attached via baseplate anchors. Extra space between the drive motors, the combined armaments of about 2 LWs, and a pink battery stacked into the baseplate because I'm a super elite builder yo. It's bad, it's so bad. Peep those misaligned ramplates. But it succeeds since it's stupid wide and the hybrid of these weapon types works really, really well. It can take out most of SCv4 as well.

How will the AI handle that?
Maybe add much smaller smartzones, so it only takes good shots? Also, there is AI that only strikes when a chassis is within the smartzone, which could help. But it's a useless AI when the opponent is a Flying Guillotine or the chassis is just out of the way.

Neat. Are they flippers or just ramming protection?

i checked this website i go down... look at this
While we won't be able to do everything on your list...
More Wapens Pinapleeessssssssss Emergency babyyyyyyyy Nintendo Virtual Boy version Floppy Disc version Klingon or Romulan translation What Happen.... I Can't Read 2 Of Them
Which ones? Most of it is misspelled on purpose as a joke.
The Pinapleeessssssssss And Emergency babyyyyyyyy
"The Pinapleeeeeeessssss" is a horrible misspelling of "The Pineapples" and I have no idea what they meant for that. "Emergency babyyyyyy" is "Emergency baby", so like a smaller version of EMERGENCY from the original Robot Arena 2? Who knows.

So this becomes the new de-facto standard for DSL?

Didn't somebody email the already-known head of GI earlier? Who confirmed it? I think it was Craaig or MikeNCR.

Saw this and thought of you. Big bar spinners on a tiny chassis!

While this may not seem like the most promising mod, we really sent the worst of the worst to be the welcoming party. Treat people with a little respect, maybe? And people wonder why GTM is known as being an outrageously toxic place. We're trying to help people learn the game, not tear them down for trying.
It also strikes me that the people 'agreeing with Nar' are of... A certain calibre.
That's... Unusually rude of you, Craaig.
He's not wrong.

I always thought that the original Vlad was a weak replica. Great work! The new ones look absolutely fantastic!

I'd like to see somebody try but from a reliability standpoint there's just no way it would work
Why are you talking in the 3rd person like that?
I'm out of practice!! I am building a robot soon but no damn way am I doing that.

@Urjak: I'll keep it under wraps solely because it's reasonably up in the air still. But I've been waiting on this long enough and I tend to get pretty obsessive about my goals, so it should come together. Plus, if I don't do it, I don't get my degree haha.
Also, I added SKBT on Facebook and y'all should add me, I'm Jonathan in the recent friends but I don't know all your names. I'll probably be able to tell from the robot pictures who you all are haha

Oh ok. Sportsman and featherweight were both at 16 entrants last year, so I assumed there was a limit of some sort. And I wasn't thinking crazy big spinners, but on the scale of current spinners it would be much closer to Hyper Active than to Riptoff. As for the design being challenging, I'll be spending a lot of time tweaking, doing FEA on the design, etc. because of it being a school project. So hopefully I'll be able to work out any kinks. There's a bit of pressure to do something cool because this project will be introducing quite a few people to the sport, and I'd feel like a dingus by saying "here's my combat robot, I built it to destroy other robots, but no I didn't put any weapons on it at all"

Current mental picture is a vertical spinner with some uniquely designed wedge elements to try to solve some problems inherent with the design in general, and cover up some weaknesses of current designs. I need to make design goals for the project based on a lot of factors however, and that may influence the design some. But that is the current idea.
