Custom Components Showcase / Re: Pay Tribute With Replicas

Dude stop using stock decals, the least you could do is put a little effort to align everything
Have you tried to align stock decals before?

Have you tried a custom skin?

Lets be reasonable here, Photoshop isn't an easy skill to learn, nor is it cheap software either.

You should include pics of the original so people can compare them - especially if it's a really obscure bot like this.

Not at all obscure, RRH did insanely well in TIFR, making it a few episodes from the end, and eliminating one of the favorites (Two BBQ) by KO.

You guys are right, thanks for calming me down. Especially Hoppin in particular, I was just worried I had something to do with all these things happening due to a string of coincidences. I'm good now though and cannot wait to see my bot breakdance out of control whenever it hits something. Hopefully I get a control bot for one of my four fights.

I'm going to be level here, and this might sound a bit silly, and a wee superstitious but... Can I drop out for the good of the tournament? I am beginning to feel like I am cursed, and whenever I enter a tourney lately the tourney gets canned for some reason, usually mid tourney.

What happened to this tourney? This is far from the first tourney I have entered which did not go through to completion, and I am beginning to feel like I carry some sort of a curse.

Congrats on winning BOTM Once I saw that Ford Explorer I was instantly blown away by it, that thing is a masterpiece, and definitely deserved November's BOTM for its class.

By the way does it roll over when it is running Wilderness AT tires like the real thing does? All joking aside as soon as I saw it I instantly knew which bot to vote for. Also regarding the first one on the page, it kind of reminds me of FunsDead.

Edit: I am a petrolhead as well, and I Disagree with 090901 here. To me it does not look like a Bronco, it looks more like a Fiat 127, an Italian compact from the 70's but was produced until 2008 as the infamous Yugo GV/Zastava Koral.

Initially I wasn't going to post this one cause personally I despise it, and think it is ugly. But yeah this is Box of Possible Doom, and it is what happens when I am not inspired enough.

Decided to post it only because this:

is the current state of my Botfly replica at the moment so I figure I'd post something.

Modifications / Greenscreen DSL Test Arena
« on: November 02, 2018, 02:17:08 PM »
So once I got back into Robot Arena 2 this year I decided after building a bot which was proving to be a bit of an issue with the botlab, and backdrops method of getting angled shots for splash usage I decided to attempt to reskin the DSL practice arena into a sort of greenscreen arena.

A lot of the work here is done, as I modified the .bmp, and .tgf files, however the floor is still gray, and some of the blank textures are not rendering as intended. I do suspect it is the .gmf file, thing is I do not understand that type of file at all. So if anyone else wants to take this project off my hands, feel free to do so.

Here is a screenshot of what I managed to complete before the games file format stumped me:

The file for anyone who wants to pick this project up, and continue it is in the spoiler below.

If anyone manages to get it working the textures are all white, but can easily be changed to a corresponding green color with a photo editor.

Wow, I absolutely adore the race-car aesthetics, also who doesn't love a front hinged flipper.

Awesome! It would have been a shame if robo games died two deaths in one year
Agreed, at least with this tourney it lives on in spirit. Glad to have entered, even if my bot performs badly, and trust me I know the position doot was in here too. I actually had to back up my PC myself last month cause it decided to go kaput as well. #VivaLaRoboGames

Wow it has really been a long time since I posted on GTM? Oh boy, so occasionally I get these crazy ideas in my head to build things, and me being a very spontaneous person I tend to actually do it. Anyway this bot was kind of inspired by a prop plane, and it is predictably very unstable, whenever it hits something it will dance around but ehh why do I care about making things actually competitive.

Here is Violent Takeoff. Sorry about the wayward cursor, I derped pretty badly when creating the first presentation shot.

Existing Games / Forza Horizon 4
« on: October 31, 2018, 10:13:05 PM »
Honestly I do not know if anyone else here appreciates racing games, especially one that costs full price, but the game is quite gorgeous, and it (the Forza series) has a full creative suite that while quite awkward to work with can create some stunning art.

But I have been having an insanely fun time with this game, get a good group of friends, go online, and you are pretty much liable to have crazy fun. Anyway here is a little something I whipped up a while back with some Robotics relations. If anyone else plays it would be interesting to see yall's creations too.

Reaper: My first opponent in this competition. Could be rough for me if Kerosene Doesn't get to its sides
Don't worry, you are facing a  :SFTW my bot is super unstable to the point of gyrodancing while turning, and has thin armor (Plastic 5). Kerosene should get flipped around a bit by Reaper, but ultimately rip it apart, and I won't have to stick a dirty sock in my mouth (which is what I said I'd do on IG Live if I won a fight with Reaper).

All I want to achieve here is to put on a show, that's all I entered for.

Yes they really do need a buff, for their size they are quite weak, I rarely saw people use them anymore last time I was here so I say it would not hurt to give it a bit of a buff.

Discussion / Re: You can add more stadiums on RA2 Stock?
« on: August 26, 2018, 05:07:21 PM »
I would answer this, but Dark here hit the nail on the head. The only thing I would add is to use 7-zip over winRAR to unzip the files, as winRAR is known as nuisanceware (once the trial period runs out it annoys you to buy it) whereas 7-zip is completely free.
