It's not for me it's for a friend, I remember it being helpful to me when I was just starting out. I'm speficically looking for the one that explains what each variable in the binding means; that part is not covered in the page on the RA2 wiki. What I did find was this link that just redirects me to GTM's main page https://gametechmods.com/?do=Guide_to_AIingAnd I was hoping that someone had archived whatever used to be there.

I'm having a problem with the FBS_2 binding. As you know, it's programmed to stop spinning and chase its opponent after a time specified by "Chase_Time", the problem is, my robot won't ever start spinning in place again after the first time. Can anyone help, or recommend a better binding to use? (I need one that lets the robot SnS and use spinning weapons) Here's the code if it helps. I set the fbs_range low because I don't want it to spin in palce unless the opponent is really close:
list.append(("13 Black","FBS_2",{'nose':math.pi,'chase_time':15,'fbs_range':30,'right':1,'PreSpinEntrance':30,'radius':0.3,'topspeed':150,'range':99,'throttle':130,'turn':60,'turnspeed':2.5,'weapons':(9,10,11,12)}))

I've seen a lot of DSL-legal robots that use what appears to be a very thin gold-coloured spin motor. It's not the slimBody, it's a spinner motor. But I can't find any such component in my fresh DSL copy, even with cheatbot enabled. What is the txt file?

In an AI binding there's always a set of numbers after "Weapons" (unless it's a rammer) that tell a bot when its weapons have been broken off and it should switch to ramming/evading. How do I figure out the right numbers to use?
Thanks in advance.

As a replica builder, I'm always interested in new components. Mostly because of shape - new shapes present new opportunities for replica building. I thought it would be good to list all the component packs that offer original-composition components, rather than just reskins of existing ones. I'm trying to compile a list of all such components and packs. Individual components are fine too as long as they're not just reskins. Here are the ones I know of:
Lu-Tze Dummy (D1/D2) Darkrat Beetlebros Wham's Killerhurtz & Terrorhurtz axes
So yeah, if you guys know of any other legit components or packs that don't crash the game, that would help a lot. Thanks.

I'm tinkering with the ShiftWeapon AI for one of my bots (It's the one where you mount a spin motor onto a servo so that the configuration of your spin weapon changes constantly) and I don't understand what the variables do. Can anyone explain these, plus the range of acceptable numbers? 'servoNbPos', 'servoTimer', ''servodelta,' and 'servorange.'
Also is there a way to make the servo pivot less often. At the moment it's shifting about once per 1-2 seconds

Hey guys, my laptop died and I have to get a new one. Problem is, I'm not sure if the new laptop will run Robot Arena 2. I had XP on my old laptop, I'm thinking of getting a new one with Windows 7. Will Robot Arena 2 with DSL run? What OS's do you guys use?
Thanks.
EDIT: salvaged the replicas from a backup drive. I lost some videos I was working on, but the important thing is all my bots are safe and sound.

This is the second time in a short period that someone's remorselessly bailed on a replica torunament. I think it's time to re-evaluate the punishment for tournament bailing. I mean, if someone's lost interest in hosting a tournament, how is it a punishment to prevent them from doing so? I may be acting reactionary, but I think the punishment for flushing down dozens of users' hard work should be more severe. I propose that bailers, during their ban period, should not only be banned from hosting tournaments, but from entering as well. A little bit of the "treat others as you wish to be treated." TLT me all you like, but I couldn't live with myself if I just turned my back on my own tournament.

I'm trying to get into the Legend of Zelda series, especially the 3D versions, but I don't know where to start (The 2D games' controls were too fiddly for my taste). What would be a good Zelda game to start with if I'm looking for one with a gentle learning curve?

Anyone following tech news will know that today was the debut of Watson the Jeopardy-playing computer. Did anyone else watch? And are you rooting for the humans or the machine? I was quite impressed with Watson's strategy, fishing for the Daily Double, and then playing defensive once it took the lead (ie, picking low-scoring clues only. It seems like Watson had a real advantage in terms of reflexes; former J! champs have emphasized how important it was to be quick on the buzzer. Still I suspect that next round's questions will be more cryptic and the scales will tip towards human intuition.

Like the title says, do your favourite video game songs remind you of any songs you've heard in real life? Here's one:

I have a beetleweight with a havoking problem. It's got 2 piglets (yeah yeah, I know, but the Astroflights don't fit in my chassis) and 2 hypno-wheels, and it havoks often and unpredictably. Is this a glitch on my copy of the game or a common problem?

I'm trying to recompile the RW arena after scaling everything down, but I get an error, "Runtime Error '9' Subscript out of range."
All I did was change the numbers like Click instructed in my thread "Scale down an entire arena." At first I thought it was because I had an extra empty line, but I kept getting the same error even after I corrected that.
Anyone know what to do?

Has anyone else seen the 4 Chords Song by Axis of Awesome? I thought it was really clever observation on mainstream music: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5pidokakU4I&feature=related#wsIt got me thinking, what other "4 chords" songs are there? All I can think of is "Total Eclipse of the Heart"

I think I might have ****ed up my Not Perfect replica, I put a skin on it and now it won't load in the botalab. Please please please help me I don't have a backup. Can I edit the bot file to get rid of the skin?
Many thanks. UPDATE: Does anyone know how to make a new bot with an empty chassis using the bot file? If I can salvage the shape, that would be the next best thing.
