Can't believe I used to like Rowberry's style of reviews. Be warned, I may say some stupid things in this, I do not mean to offend any of the builders. Heat A: Great, another heat where the Champion seed is most likely dethroned. Snowstorm 2- There are aspects of the new one that I think the old one does better(Mainly weapon supports and setup), still a great bot. The wedge will probably make it front flip way more often. Grass Chompy- For a new builder...It's not bad. Two strikes on this one though, the patterned wedgelets and the fact that these are 30 cm wide wedgelets Cujo 2- No difference, can't comment. Monolith- Robo's build, good as always. Microburst- Pretty decent bot, minus the color scheme. Naga 2.5- A decent skin, don't know why it needs that third config though(The wedgelets are pretty grim on that one.) Live Free Or Die- It's going to die. NH's overconfidence is making us think that more and more. Hypersonic- A vert that looks...pretty good by the looks of it, the splash is making it hard to tell.[Predicted Heat Winner]
Heat B: A non-spinner better win this heat. Gold Ecstacy 2- Definitely better than the original, though the wedge-edges poking out are a bit annoying. [Predicted Heat Winner] Thwacky- If this isn't an actual thwack, we riot. The Orient Express- Justice but switched from good to evil, and performs just as well as Crest- It still amazes me how Hobo manages to build so well. Hopefully this thing can actually lift stuff, however its size is a definite issue. Reverb- Don't know what Gulden's going for here, looks nice though. Gwip’s Revenge- Gwip's back! It'll probably do as good as its DM2 performance. Midnight Zone- Haven't seen a FBD since Matthews' LW. It's alright. Cougar- Wonder how many of these kinds of drum spinners have I seen before.
Heat C: So many different bot types. Apogee III- Still looks pretty good. [Predicted Heat Winner] Bored Again- That revamp makes it pretty spicy. Contrast- Configs are definitely more legal now, although will probably be still defeated in the heat semifinal. Crustacean Mini- Always love 8bean's innovative ideas. Dead Heat-hurr durr 4wd box top hinge bad Another decent bot by KidDelta. Demios- Merrick blows us all away with another cool-looking bot. Pharaoh's Revenge- It's... something. Minus the terrible skin and Weapon Etek drive, its... not terrible. Solar Storm- Looks like Solar storm got all its weaknesses fixed.
Heat D: Spinners vs the 2 poor wedges, sounds like fun. Proximus- How come BK went back to the old design? EZ Ryder- At first glance, this really seems like a rushed, last-minute bot. Killerquack-Nothing's changed. I think it will most likely repeat its performance in DM5. FIGHT!!- That's a weapon and a color scheme change I wasn't expecting. [Predicted Heat Winner] SDBeater-Probably will perform the same as DM4. Propaganda- Ok, it's a decent bot. But why does it need a wedgelet config? Buckshot- I'm amazed if this thing gets a win. Since this thing's so similar to Drums on the Wheel, I hope it at least puts up a good fight. Silver Bullets-My cluster, low expectations on how they do, but hopefully they work decently. If they don't get flipped, that is.
Heat E: The only heat with more than 2 "bad" bots. Outlandish Otter- I wonder how it will do without the hinged wedgelets?[Predicted Heat Winner] Sarin- Sarin's back, nothing's changed, hope it does alright. Artificial Sweetener- It's solid, I guess. Hexiide- Hardbot does another decent job. He really likes those wedged drums, huh? Tokyo Nights- I don't know what to say about this bot. It's decently built? Grassy Smasher- I don't think being long and narrow for a hammer bot is such a good idea. The Bloody Beaker-No. Just. No. Stormflower- If this wasn't built by Prime, It would've probably been rejected for low effort.
Heat F: Nothing to say about this heat. Tearaway MK3-The gray area for wedgeless drums Probably will perform the exact same as DM5, but who knows. Black Eye- 'Ello CW Redeye. Murderous Beetroot MKIV-Evidence that humans can evolve backwards I don't know how to feel about this. Probably as small as its previous incarnations. Rhys probably never seems to recognize Beetroot's flaws. Black Gold- Bild stuns us with another build yet again. Surprised that this is a scaled-down HW. Saturnalia- CW Saturnalia, got nothing to say. Mordecai- Could this be Garfield's next challenger? Kirin 2020-Missed the old colors on this thing, but hey, it's way better than the past versions. [Predicted Heat Winner] Surge- An interesting one, to say the least. It did show potential in Eternal, but will probably fail miserably here.
Heat G: Quality. RIPtile- This time it's a Perm, with the DM5 bar. Mixed feelings about this one. Personally preferred Kopter. [Predicted Heat Winner] Orcatraz the Scarred- Hopefully it does well? I've got nothing to say, Orc's done another good job at this. Ice Pick- Definitely better than the last iteration. Tsuihou Hanran- Ok Raven, you've gone truly mad this time.BSRaven = Bizarre sh** Raven. The Black Knight- Haven't seen a grappler in a while, looks decent. Rigerding 2- Alright idea, but still has that issue for its wedge being too steep. Electrical Storm- Arctic Storm but Eurobeat. Stingray- It's cute, I guess.
Heat H: All the bots here are at the very least decent. Sadlads 2- All it needed was a weapon change, why did it take so long? Still looks nice. [Predicted Heat Winner] Oreo Storm- The weapon being an Oreo is a good touch, but the bot is still basic. Ground Zero XL- I don't even know where Cringey's going with this. Moth Stinger- So it's a piston bot. Nothing to say, hope it does well. Shockvibe- Hard Bot does another decent job yet again. Sinsue- More proof about backwards evolution. Barney is Mad- Leave it to Toaster to create the maddest designs possible. The Rat’s Nest- Typical Badnik, it has all the qualities of a Badnik build. Pretty good.

Anyone up for a 3v3? We send the host 3 bots, select an order for them to compete and fight it out 1v1 where bots don't switch out until they are defeated. HW DSL IRL because no one plays anything else RW 2016 CB2 is the usual. Flatmotor, Overkill, ect. are allowed. Kapiche?
I'm up for it, but who will host?

It works fine downloading for me.
What ISN'T working is several robots that keep crashing the game even though I've added all the recommended components.
I've had that issue as well. But I found some reasons for it. If it automatically closes out, that means you don't have the components(Specifically Colored Beaters and Typhoons). If it says "Abnormal Program Termination", there is something wrong with the AI. But the main thing is: The SpinupOmni2 file is not working(For some reason) in AI(And in DSL 2.2 IRL), so replace the file with the one in Complete Edition, and you should be good.

The main thing is that he frequently bugs other youtubers to either download his bots, or play with him. As Orc said. He’s basically you in the past but more of a prick. I’ve seen his constant comments on TheDominusIgnis’s videos, and I had to step in to make him stop, even though Dominus asked him nicely.
And don’t get me started on his channel or his bots.

My thoughts Power Alert:Lets hope it does better than the only other HW ORBY clone. And that weapon setup is interesting. Roka 3.1S: What kind of Number cryptography is Bild even using? Saturnalia: Hopefully 4wd does make a difference. Cruncho 3: Where’s Deadgn4ws? Cruncho’s here to OOTA you again! Fallen: We’re here to do King Crab justice. By beating the sh** out of this thing.Twilight Rune V: Looks like the whole thing is made of Chassis. Garfield: Kill the false god. Ezitinas IV: Always looks impressive. Mesocyclone: Carbide but enlisted in the army. Payday: A N G R Y Alumini IV: ITS sh** PuriN: Stay classy, my dude. Crescendo II: Watch every bot just ride up that wedge. Family Business 3D: Never changed, but hopefully will be good in AI. **** green people: Giant Disc. Breaking Point 3.0 MK II: Unfair. Matthews entered 2 bots, host bias. Glawio: It started into the abyss and the abyss stared back. Mole Butcher: Really concerned about Neon’s consistency of always using 3mm armor. MenaceX: Still haven’t figured out what the **** that is supposed to be. ASSAULT & KILL: generic Vert. And just looks Inspector Blue 3: Looks like a downgrade from the last one. Dont take my color cunt: Damn it, it’s Hufflebloods. Like people actually read these things.

Cheers for another excellent Deathmatch RedAce. A lot of surprise wins in this final, 6woF barreling out, Kopter Iguana flying, Gold Ecstasy getting stuck for some reason. Congrats to Nightraven for winning. And I’ll send a config bot that’s “legal” this time .

I’d personally just reduce weight and make it a CW.

« on: January 13, 2020, 05:55:47 PM »
TBH I find it more of a downgrade compared to the old version. It does have potential, just need to sort out two major issues.
1. Weapon Motor is pretty underpowered for a crusierweight, I’d suggest using 6 Mag mounted at a higher position, you may have to downgrade the drive, but it’ll still be fast regardless.
2. The individual bar itself provides little durability. The way it’s made makes it more easier to break off, not even a good damage output either. My suggestion would be a solid bar with weapons added on the ends or just keep the Moros blade.

Boy how to revive a dead thread.
Anyways, Day 18. Which is coincidentally, my birthday. So I've decided to post a bot here that I've been trying to sharpen for so long. Today's theme was misfit. So I decided to do a unconventional approach. Introducing my CW, Contrast.

So. Botober begins.
Welp, here's my first bot. Diamond in the Rough.
I bet you can't tell who it's inspired by, it's not based on anything irl.
