Cool I won.
Also Fotepx needs to die, first MWs, then SHW. Stop
I haven't even been on the forum for 6 months - that's technically being dead, right? :P
Nguieh, the better bot won. /shrug

I tried copying a ra2.cfg from the zip file (my RA2 did have one) like WenXiang suggested, still no success unfortunately. Sorry for not replying for a while
One problem I've had quite a few times is the teams.txt - replacing it'll get rid of your current teams, so back it up in case that's not the issue, but I've had it before where that document getting corrupted's locked up an entire game. Try replacing it with one from another copy of RA2.

I am looking to create the Bowtie Blade from Nightmare on the Battlebots reboot, and was wondering if anyone knew how to create it similar to the dsl 2.2 Nightmare blade, or make anything similar too it? I am new to messing around this deep in RA2 and am just look for more seasoned vets to help me out! Thanks, also if this is in the wrong place, let me know and I'll post in the correct place
This is going to be a new component in DSL 2.3, coming out in December. Stick around!

The only potential issue is that wheels that are too light will not support a bot's weight and will end up looking like something built by Donald Hutson. The old Ironforge wheels already did this slightly. I guess I'll see if the lighter wheels are an issue in this.
IIRC you could fix this at a .gmf level by changing the mass there, rather than in the .txt.

Yet again giving my run-downs whee-haa Proximity Vs. Agent Orange - Things start off really bad for the Proximity machine, getting flipped in the opening 10 seconds! Agent Orange gracefully self-rights it and allows the match to go on. After the self-right it becomes a shoving match, which Proximity is surprisingly winning! Agent Orange is pushed all the way to the side wall, but then gets under Proximity again and digs in with that vicious spinning blade. Now it's Proximity's turn to get under Agent Orange, and with a half-dozen or so great flips, this could be a comeback! Again, Agent Orange bullied into the corner, and held there! Proximity's really building up a head of steam coming into the final 10 seconds, and it goes to the judges, who give it to... Proximity! A well-deserved victory!
Do A Barrel Roll Vs. Nightmare Moon Evo - One of the twins gets under Nightmare Moon early in the fight, and the duo keep the pressure on, flipping Nightmare Moon all over the box. This keeps up for a minute or so, Nightmare Moon landing superficial shots, but Do A Barrel Roll definitely in control of the fight. Do A Barrel Roll, a duo which previously got through on luck, are really showing their metal here... and Nightmare Moon Evo can't seem to do much to change the flow of battle! Coming into the final minute, the damage on Barrel Roll's looking a bit more than superficial now, and one of the clusterbots is out of power! Oh, what a turnup, right at the end! The other one's being decimated now, and by the skin of it's teeth, Nightmare Moon Evo goes through!
Evil Art Project MK3 Vs. Magnhild: Volume 2 - Magnhild tries to close the distance at the start and get some early shots in, but EAP's ring spinner and Magnhild's instability seem to be keeping the hammer at bay. Magnhild landing some good shots now, but every time it does, it topples over - now, if EAP has strong enough armour to go the distance, Magnhild could lose this on control! It certainly won't lose it on damage though, as one swing from the hammer takes off a whole tooth! EAP's keeping the pressure on, and Magnhild's taking longer and longer to self-right... EAP's digging in here, and Magnhild is toast! EAP goes through!
Drugged Pizza Vs. Looks Kill - Again, Looks Kill's less-than-impressive wedge really does it in here - Drugged Pizza easily getting around to their sides and ripping them a new one. A quick fight, over in just 26 seconds, Drugged Pizza advances.
Millwall Brick 2 Vs. Maelstrom - First contact flips Maelstrom, and from there, Millwall Brick drives them into the corner and digs away at their baseplate! An immobility warning and the two seperate, but when they come together again it's very much the same story - Millwall Brick, underneath Maelstrom, grinding away at it's underbelly, and Maelstrom just can't take the pressure. Millwall Brick 2 goes through.
Wraith V Vs. Toomstone - Toomstone's length advantage, both in bar and in chassis, is the real deciding factor in this one. Keeping Wraith V at bay, letting the blade get in some good heavy hits, and ripping off Wraith's entire weapon setup, motor and all! From there, the writing's on the wall, and it's only a matter of time before Wraith V's completely without armour and defeated. Toomstone goes through-stone.
Twinge Vs. Hydrotech & Pyrotech - Hydro and Pyro, quick out of the gates, and quickly under Twinge! Pyrotech, however, goes too far and flings itself onto it's side, where it's unable to self-right! There's only Hydrotech left now, but it seems to be handing it to Twinge, really grinding away at it! A havok separates the two, but when they collide again, it's all over! Hydrotech and Pyrotech advance!
Margin Of Error Vs. Invasion - The #1 seed starts off the battle in really bad form, not only getting flipped over but also having one of it's discs removed completely! It looks like the writing's on the wall before it's began... Ang it is! Margin Of Error go through!

I mean it's not a bad idea, but I'm not sure that flippers need more of a buff than they already have considering most arenas have OOTA zones. For the few that don't okay then it makes sense, but... Nguieh.

Gonna keep doing the run-downs for some people who might not have time to watch the whole thing, or just want my two cents on the matches. Necky Junior Vs. Proximity - Went about as expected. Necky Junior got flipped around for a good half-minute before being dumped out of the arena. Proximity advances.
Zestoruin Vs. Agent Orange - Ended sooner than it should've! Zestoruin didn't really have a response for Agent Orange's surprisingly good wedge, and ended up OOTA in due time. Agent Orange goes through.
Do A Barrel Roll Vs. Third Degree - DABR could have the strength to flip Third Degree if they co-operated, but simply don't have that down. They somehow manage an OOTA off of the back of blind luck, and go through.
Powerpuff Girls Vs. Nightmare Moon EVO - Neither of the girls have the ability to get under Nightmare Moon, and end up paying the price on the back of some heavy heavy hits. Nightmare Moon EVO wins.
Evil Art Project MK3 Vs. Rooster - Originally just another joke fight, but Rooster's wedge is actually a lot better than one might think. Still gets decimated though, in a beatdown that can only be described as "vicious". EAP MK3 advances.
Magnhild; Volume 2 Vs. Taurpedo 2 - Taurpedo gets under Magnhild more thanks to the vicious disc, but takes more damage, and that eventually catches up to it, allowing Magnhild to land decisive blows and pull through with the win.
Drugged Pizza Vs. Contaminant Evo - Contaminant starts off impressive with some good flips. Drugged Pizza tried to get around to the side but can't seem to penetrate the armour. Pizza gets flipped out momentarily but bounces back in! Bits and pieces are beginning to fly off of Contaminant, Pizza's now worked around to the rear end of Contaminant and is ripping it to shreds! Contaminant's lifeless... AND OUT! Drugged Pizza goes through!
Newsprint Vs. Looks Kill - Newsprint tries to keep Looks Kill away with their ginormous spinner, but fail to maintain distance. Looks Kill's wedge is unable to get under Newsprint, however, so they resort to pinning it for most of the fight. The ineffectiveness of Newsprint's design really showed in this one. The judges gave it to Looks Kill, and I agree.
Millwall Brick 2 Vs. Reduiidae - A major hit from Reduiidae early in the fight completely knocks off half of Millwall Brick's drum setup! Millwall Brick stays aggressive, but with the lack of weapon power seems unable to change the flow of battle. So, Millwall changes strategy, and gets Reduiidae onto it's head for a while! This could really cause an upset, and it does! Millwall stays under Reduiidae, grinds away at it's baseplate, and gets a close victory.
Land Of Hope And Glory Vs. Maelstrom - Maelstrom's big beefy disc really rocks and rolls LOHAG in the opening moments, LOHAG flopping like a fish outta water. One tremendous punt divorces LOHAG from it's weapon, and also leaves it upside-down in a heap outside the ring. Maelstrom advances.
I Can't Think Of A Name Vs. Wraith V - Two very similar robots here, both massive spinning bars... Wraith has the speed and mobility advantage, but seems unable to capitalize yet... A few shows to the underbelly of ICTOAN seems to not do much, and before long, Wraith's bar is off! ICTOAN also loses a hammer, massively destabilising it! Now it's just a shoving match, which Wraith's winning thanks to it's better drive... And the judges have called it there! ICTOAN is out, Wraith V is through!
Eclipse 2.0 Vs. Toomstone - Big head-on collisions start off this quick-paced match. Toomstone seems to be getting through the shell of Eclipse... And it's over before it's even begun! Toomstone advances!
Twinge Vs. Span - Aah, finally, some short names... And another one that seems to be over before it's started! The boxrush at the start from Twinge has beached Span on the side wall, and they can't recover! It's all over, Twinge goes through!
Hydrotech & Pyrotech Vs. Fantasy - Pyrotech starts off by boxrushing Fantasy in what seems like a naff effort, but this boxrush allows Hydrotech to get under Fantasy and start grinding away. Pyrotech joins in the grind, and it's over in record time! Hydrotech & Pyrotech go through.
Margin Of Error Vs. Grim - Again, two similar bots, two similar strategies - Grim seems to be getting around to MoE's side more often, but MoE's holding fast, keeping the pressure on... And bits of Grim are beginning to fall off, now! And now Margin Of Error's really digging in, and it's all over! Margin Of Error advances.
Invasion Vs. Hell Spawn: Redux - Hell Spawn flips the champion early on, and it seems unable to recover! Hell Spawn's playing with them now, self-righting and flipping them back over, but that's really backfired as Invasion's really making up for lost time now! Digging with those spinners, Hell Spawn's falling apart at the seams, and it's all gonna end in tears! Hell Spawn's in pieces outside the arena, and Invasion goes through!

Gonna do something different here and provide a run-down of what I thought of each battle. Agent Orange Vs. Zamboni From Hell - Well, that ended quicker than expected! To be fair, the writing was on the wall from the first contact, but whodathunk it'd end in an OOTA? Agent Orange wins. Garter Snake & Friends Vs. Maelstrom - What an odd battle! It's a darn shame Garter Snake couldn't self-right properly, or else it woulda had this one in the bag. Maelstrom was flopping like a fish, but gets the W. Not Whyachi Vs. Fantasy - First contact flipped Whyachi, leaving it high and dry. From there it was an obvious ending. Fantasy goes through.

I know I'm late to the party on this one, but man, what an amazing battle Vs. Solar Storm! Even though we didn't win, that's definitely going down as a classic. Coming back for Deathmatch 3, for sure! In total support of Billy's heat finalist rumble idea. That sounds like a right ol' slobberknocker.

YES! Just as I called it, although not as much destruction as I would've liked...
Next up is, phoo, Demoness? Honestly, I woulda preferred if Zestoruin didn't commit suicide and fling itself out of the ring, this fight's gonna be a close one to call now. If our bar can last up, we're in with a chance. If not... Ooh dear.

What irony. Saying that my bot was going to flip FOTPX's bot OOTA, only to end out of the arena itself. So that's what I get for using a static wedgelets instead of a hinge wedge, as well as making a bot a glass cannon. So, GG FOTPX.
Thanks for a fantastic fight! I really thought you had us for a second, what with how durable your flipping arm seemed to be holding up, but once we got up to full speed the writing was on the wall. Still, what a crazy battle! Next up is Necky Jr... Well, at least it'll be a fun fight to watch.

I'm still actually fuming that Fotepx's bot exists.
I didn't know who build it but I was saying to my self that this was a cheap design.. MechaSnS. I think even worse is the SHW with two discs stacked with T2 teeth
I'm laughing all the way to the bank... Vs. Hufflebloods: Pwoh, that was close! I was really worried when he took off one of the discs - lucky that his weapon gave out before ours. Vs. Devil with a Day Job: Again, another one that worried me at first, especially when we weren't turning and his VS was getting under us! Once we got up to speed, though, we really wrecked him. Good fight! Also, don't worry - this won't happen twice. 2.3's balancing the Mech's and Typhoon's right off, but for now...

YES! Strategy went to plan. Very happy with that fight.
Next up is Foxhound... Ooh. Now that one has me more worried, 'cuz Foxhound's a bit of a wild, bounce around the place type of bot. One too many lucky hits from that disc on the top of our chassis and we could be out of the competition... We need to keep our distance, let them bounce around if they do, and generally be quite cautious with this next fight. We win the weapon count, but that isn't the whole story... the deciding factor is gonna be how many times they hit our top. If it's not too many, we -should- be good.

Well, so far, so good! Some good wins under our belt, and all bots through to the second round... thus far.
Design In Malice Vs. Dwayne 2.5... Honestly, I don't think we have a chance. Maybe they shear our top spikes off and we push them around for the duration of the fight? If we get flipped once, we're ****ed, so overall... Yeesh. Not too confident.
Beezer Vs. ReDRum! Ooh, now this is one I'm interested in! I think we have a chance here, if we can shear off the end of one of those DSL Bars and unbalance him... We went with a full-strength bar for battles like this, and we should be well defended 'cuz of the Tite skirts! Quietly confident.
Wildheart Vs. Str8 2, oof... Hammer Shell Spinner vs Undercutter, I don't think we... No, wait, actually? We have more weapon weight than him! And he's at more risk of unbalancing if one of the hammers shear, -plus- I don't think he can self-right! Y'know, on paper, looking at it, it doesn't seem like we have it, but in-between the front protection, our greater weapon weight and surprising stability... Again, quietly confident!
