stock - small wedges tend to get under stuff, typically you want it on the end of an extender attached to a snapper 2 or DDT. emergency wedges can also work but are generally a lot less reliable

DSL 2.1 - a lot more complicated. generally snappers (probably bsgs) are probably the most likely to be good, but the central attach point of a skirt hinge, and metal hinges tend to be fine. it's largely luck. as for the components on those, small wedges are still very good, but the various skirts also tend to make good wedges. also for some slower robots, mako wedges (using 90 degree axles) can work but they're more unstable and bad on fast bots

For more recent versions I think the meta is probably less overcentralized on wedges since they're not very realistic typically and so don't fit with the dominant IRL style. For Ironforge I don't really know

Empire 3 no tit sheets.jpg

altered version of empire with snapper wedges so it can self right/better wedges. armour is titanium 5, 4 fewer lds teeth but similar damage

empire 3 with tit sheets.jpg

same as above but with tit sheets, armour is plastic 5, might be slightly better since it can corner bots and gutrip them with the tall wedge.

empire 2.jpg

new version of empire. a little more generic looking but more or less the same damage with a shallower wedge and slightly better armour (plastic 10)

harsh master piston.jpg

piston popup version of harsh master. works a bit better i guess? makes more sense design wise too

Cat's Eyes.jpg

2 L JS popup. armour is good iirc? works fine

Cat's Eyes 2.jpg

3 L JS popup, think it has like 7 razors on each? very high damage, decent wedges. armour is plastic 3 so not too good

Rocking Russian.jpg

fairly standard 8wd inertia flipper. can run inverted (sort of) and is at least reasonably stable and damaging

gloriana.jpg

reasonably effective juggler. steel 5 armour, wedges a bit rubbish though. big central spinner is on a dual mag

antlion.jpg

inertia sidehammer. doesn't work

milk churn.jpg

another kinda fat rat ripoff. armour is only steel 1 but weapons are on perm 132s iirc and does quite a lot of damage

harsh master.jpg

wanted to make a bot with the steel v ploughs so i did. is like a very bad fat rat but i like the ploughs too much to get rid of them. weapons are weak but it's not that vulnerable to being deweaponed so that's something at least

also the perm 80s somehow do not get knocked off in testing

Off-Topic Discussion / Re: a rant about the community

The state of this game is an actual disgrace. You kids nowadays have absolutely zero building skills outside of building  barf-tier rainbow colored boxes, and garbage knock-off flippers from the most garbage robot combat show of all time. Like Jesus ****, do you guys realize how pathetic and skill less your meta is? Go try building in an actual meta where having skill, strategy, and top percentile IQ are a requirement for winning. Oh wait, you cant, considering IQ is not a strong point of being an IRL builder. I can only imagine how frustrated this community would get if they had to build a bot type that required actual critical thinking, you know, something like a flail ram or juggler.

Maybe one of these days you Discord zoomers will grow a few extra brain cells and realize how right I am, and that the RA2 wiki isn't just a "boomer circlejerk". No, it's not a circlejerk, its the ****ing Bible of RA2 history, and you better ****ing respect it, and also the vets. There have been a grand total of 0 actual innovations or meaningful contributions in the last 3 years. No mods, no tournaments worth a sh**, no decent robots being built,  just nothing. So yeah, you better lick that boot when you see a DSL-S veteran, because they know what REAL RA2 COMBAT looks like.
i think i dm'd this in 2016

these some uggo bots i must say
i think the mud runner one could do with the wheels further back and also further out horizontally since the whole design looks a little too compact for how fragile it is
